A fantastic hotel with classic style, lovely staff (especially Hayal) who are always ready to help. The rooms are clean and bright and the bathrooms are fairly modern with a large shower, the mirror has a demister pad , only down side is that the wall hung toilet pan is set a little high unless you're 6 foot. The gym is the best I've ever seen in a hotel, better than most leisure centres in fact. The menu is very good with a great variety of meals, snacks and light bites on offer, the Nachos in particular are fantastic (definitely suggest sharing those). The roof top pool is well maintained but not heated and only for the brave or those that enjoy cold water swimming.

First time to Gibraltar and The ELIOTT didn’t disappoint. Excellent welcome by Divya - free upgrade which was a nice surprise - thank you. Room on the 6th Floor with a view over The Rock, was huge and very clean on arrival.

A couple of points - ask guests if they intend to use the gym to save us wondering why we can’t access it - room card has to be activated by reception before use.
Sweep bedrooms instead of just mopping - this moves dirt around not cleaned up.
A rug or floor covering to mask the noise from neighbouring rooms and the scrape of furniture from upstairs. I still wonder why guests are moving furniture 2-3am?!
Breakfast staff our first two mornings were brilliant but weekend staff not as interested. Also choice of food better on Fri (had there been a delivery?) advertise that you can provide poached eggs. Although ordered poached on Sun and after waiting 20+ minutes gave up. Breakfast room wasn’t busy either.

But even with the points raised above would still definitely recommend this hotel. Centrally located for the shops and sights and we would return.

Thank you to all staff we encountered.

Having been staying at the Elliott for some years on and off, I find the experience very relaxing, the staff are all helpful, friendly and welcoming. The rooms are done to a very higher standard now, we stayed in a family room, myself and my son and his friend both 17 year olds, the space was fabulous, view was lovely, very quiet no outside noise from the corridor, even though we were opposite the lift we didn’t hear it, and high speed wifi, TV can be logged into with your own you tube account, so I was able to watch my program preference while the boys were out enjoying themselves. The breakfast was plentiful and very good, with nice views from the 8th floor, pool was warm enough to swim. Pool bar is closed in October sadly but you are able to buy drinks in the bar and take them up to the rooftop. Gym is fabulous and has plenty of equipment for all levels of fitness including a stair master and water cooler and again as the pool offers, towels for your convenience. Room was serviced daily and very nice toiletries provided. We were able to store our luggage in a secure room there for our later flight aswell. Definitely would recommend this hotel for all of the above and their care towards guests from the staff.

This was a mini-break. It was our very first visit to Gibraltar. We chose The Eliott deliberately, having stayed on various occasions at the Davenport in Dublin which too belongs to the O’Callaghan group.

Our stay at The Eliott scored almost full marks on every criterion! The room we had was next to the lift and yet there was no sound or any disturbance from the location. The room itself was large, well furnished and with good lighting. The bed was comfortable and the profusion of pillows was perfect. .

Housekeeping was simply outstanding and there was no reluctance to change towels, claiming as they often do in some hotels, that they are saving the planet by not changing used towels daily.

The bathroom had excellent fittings and great quality toiletries were provided, without resorting to bulk bottles of body wash/ shampoo/conditioner. The rain shower was a delight and everything worked well.

Breakfast on the eighth floor was faultless and waiting staff were on hand to take orders for coffee/ tea and for any help at all. One was treated right royally!

The gym in the basement has an amazing array of equipment, weights and exercise machines that would be the envy of a regular gym, rather than the usual excuse for a gym in a run of the mill hotel. But not so at The Eliott!

One drawback however that I spotted was that their swimming pool was open only from 1100 hours to 1900 hours. Not ideal if you fancied a pre-breakfast swim!

A second comment is the paucity of lifts even though there are two. The issue arises because there is no separate service lift for housekeeping and cleaning staff. That means there is often long waits and when it arrives, you are compelled to share it with a cleaning trolley. Else one can forego the ride and be patient while cooling one’s heels waiting for the next lift to appear!

In summary, our experience made for a most memorable stay. Happy to recommend The Eliott and we will come back!

We stayed at the Eliott for one night [after a week in Jerez] to have a quick look at Gibraltar before flying home.
The hotel is very central and, as a blue badge holder, the ability to be able to park right outside was convenient [there is a charge for this].
I use a very small mobility scooter to get around and the hotel was very accessible having a couple of small ramps into the hotel as well as two lifts.
We had a Queen room which was spotless and beautiful. The shower had a small 3cm lip into it with low controls and the sink wasn't too high either so both were perfect for me. The only downside, on the disability access front, for me was that the bed was really high! But once on it it was huge and very comfortable.
It's a shame the balconies weren't built to be that little bit bigger to accommodate a small table and two chairs as the view was lovely and it would have been nice to be able to sit out there with a cup of tea or a glass of wine.
We didn't have time to use it but there's a lovely little pool on the roof with nice easy steps and a handrail into it, the view from there was fabulous.
The hotel is very well placed; to access the shops without encountering steps though you need to turn right and right again out of the hotel, there are also lifts down to the Quay area. We really liked the Quay - it's really pretty and less touristy that the town centre. We had a very good late lunch at Monique's and then later a very nice drink at The Lounge Bar there as the sun was setting.

Having been married in Gibratar 25 years ago, we ventured back this year to celebrate and opted for the Elliott. I am so glad we did. Amazingly friendly staff. We checked to the room and then head downstairs looking for food. The restaurant is great for a full meal or just a bar snack and either can be had inside or out on the terrace. The waitress greeted us with the standard "Is this your first time in Gibratar line?". So we shared that it was our 1st time back since our wedding here 25 years ago. Without hesitation, she arranged for 2 glasses of complimentary fizz to the table. A simple touch, but we were so pleased with it and it set the tone for our stay. All the staff were fabulous. Either at the front desk, the restaurant or the breakfast room which is up on 6th, by the pool. Take note of the peak breakfast times they advertise. If you can, I advise you to avoid the peak times for a less crowded experience as the room itself isn't huge. There is plenty of choice at breakfast, cooked and continental. We visited in July, outside of UK School holiday periods and never found the communal facilities over crowded. The pool, solarium and gym always had plenty of capacity. Governor's Parade runs parallel to Main Street, so you are never too far from Gib's main shopping offerings. You are centrally located for most things to do. Walk down to Casemates Square to grab a Taxi van for an official guided tour of the Rock, or a similar amount of time in the opposite direction for the cable car up into the Nature reserve. The Taxi option is more expensive, but will include your admission to the reserve and the driver will provide historical chat en route. We do intend to return again soon and The Elliot will be our 1st choice for sure.

This was our third visit to Gibraltar but our first staying at the Eliott. Our choice was based on its convenient central location and reviews from previous guests. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, the Front Office Manger Stefano and Divya in particular, as were the bar staff. Our request for choice and location of room made at the time of booking had been met. Our room was clean and comfortable. I appreciated the quality feel of the bed linen and the way it was tucked in tightly, thereby preventing the duvet sliding off the bed during the night. We shall be staying there again next year.

Certainly the location cannot be bettered - this hotel is as close as you can get to the heart of Gibraltar. I liked the location on a well-treed square, only one block off the main street, and close to the harbour, but quite quiet.

The room was light and airy, with lots of storage and a comfortable bed. The room has a small balcony and a nice view over 'the Rock'.

Other reviewers have mentioned that the breakfast room can be a bit crowded. When I was there there were (just) enough tables. The food was good. The setting of the breakfast room is very nice, on the 8th floor with windows looking out over the city.

Driving to the hotel should not have been complicated, but note that your EU-wide SIM card may not work in Gibraltar, since Gibraltar is no longer part of the EU. If you are relying on your cellphone for GPS, as I was, that might be a problem. My GPS abruptly stopped working as soon as I crossed the border from Spain, so I spent about 15 very anxious minutes trying to find the hotel. You do not want to get lost in the maze of narrow streets that is Gibraltar!! (This is not the fault of the hotel, of course, and the hotel really is not difficult to find if you know where to turn). Just in case that happens to you, do your research before arriving and have the route mapped out in your mind.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable stay. Although this hotel is more expensive than some of the hotels across the border in La Linea, I think it was worth the extra cost to be in the heart of Gibraltar.

We booked the Eliott Hotel as the base for our wedding in Gibraltar. The whole hotel team were excellent, providing attentive, caring service across the whole hotel. The front of house were excellent arranging not just an early check-in to enable us to get to the Registrars Office with all our paperwork but also providing proof of accommodation. The catering team delivered excellent meals both in the breakfast restaurant and bar areas. Housekeeping were on top of everything, pre-empting any requests that arose.
If you have a preference for which view you get, even numbered rooms overlook the square in front of the hotel, across the older buildings and up The Rock, odd numbered rooms look over part of the old town, predominantly newer buildings and towards the harbour and Algeciras.
What a fantastic team in a beautiful hotel in a great location. We couldn’t have asked for a better base for our wedding and the start of married life.
Thank you one and all.

The hotel welcomes non residents to use the bar/dining facilities so no reason you couldn't avail yourself of them after checking out. As for courtesy room or similar, I have no doubt they would accommodate you in the best way they can but a quick e-mail to them for clarity's sake should sort the issue.
