This is a great location away from the hustle of the main commercial area, with lovely restaurants nearby and fantastic beach and cliff top walks. Plenty of parking nearby (white line means free parking) and even in a festive day we managed to find a space round the corner with no problem. The rooms are immaculately clean, and comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely and the lady who replenished items was really friendly. Highly recommended
This was our 2nd stay here and our room this time (New York) was great - we had a balcony and a street view. Great for people (and dog) watching. Breakfast is good - choice of pastries, fruit, toast, eggs, etc. The staff are super friendly and the hotel is spotlessly clean. It’s a short walk to the beach and a little supermarket. There is a bar right next door which we liked. It’s a bit of a hike to the city centre and parking was a difficult. These are the the only 2 minuses and they are far far outweighed by the many positives.
This one star hotel rates five star in everything but name. Location, cleanliness, friendliness, breakfast were all excellent. Great base to explore the city and the region. The beach and lovely walks on your doorstep. What more could one ask for?
There are a few issues with this 'hotel': 1 - It is very small and there is no sound-proofing between the rooms. This means you will hear everything, every footstep, word spoken, visit to the bathroom etc... My room was on the ground floor and right next to the entrance which meant I could hear people coming and going all day and night. Also, the cleaner making noise throughout the day. So, if you want a good nights sleep do not stay here. 2 - The breakfast is very small, lacking variety and too carb heavy. It consists of a tiny pot of yoghurt, a small portion of fruit, 3 slices of bread and tea/coffee/juice. There is no adequate protein or fat source, no cheese or meat just carbs. It's presented nicely, they give it to you on a piece of slate instead of a plate but this is more style of substance. 3 - The property is near the beach but there is not too much to see in the immediate area. If you want to reach the town centre it's a 20min direct walk which is not very scenic, otherwise 35-40min by the coast. Overall I was disappointed with my stay considering the excellent reviews I had seen. It was more like a hostel than a hotel and not worth the money. The receptionist was very friendly and everything was very clean, those were the only positives. If I return to Santander I'll pay a little extra and stay in a proper hotel in the town centre.…
Lovely little hotel with personal service. Breakfast is prepared individually for you. It was good quality, light and tasty. My room was small (but I was expecting that). Clean and neat. In the spirit of future improvements - need to improve the internet speed and add a glass to the bathroom (for water or toothbrushes)
If reading this in the summer months it may sound surprising that we chose this wonderful hotel to stay in while the blizzard conditions in the centre of the Spain, involving record snowfalls, made onward travel from our arrival at Santander ferry terminal unfeasible. The two night stay was unexpected but an absolute delight. We ‘found’ the hotel after a quick internet search and drive to it to ask about accommodation options. We quickly agreed to a one night stay, with the option of a second night, and chose the ‘Paris’ room. Slightly more expensive but the suite option was perfect in our circumstances. This was a little after 09.00 hrs and the room was occupied but the receptionist took my phone number and told me she would call when we could have access to the room. We passed some time following the advice given at the Hotel to walk to the beach and onward to the Palace de la Magdalena. What a wonderful walk with lots of amazing scenery and photography opportunities. When our room was ready, earlier than the normal check in time, we were absolutely delighted with it. Warm, comfortable and spacious it was perfect. The attention by the hotel staff was excellent. Breakfast was also perfect, no hot options but that didn’t bother us, and the location superb. We’d stopped over at Santander previously but didn’t realise this gem of a location existed. Thoroughly recommended.…
Booked 3 nights here whilst we helped my daughter begin her university life in Santander. Very clean, modern, stylish and great value. The three staff we met were all friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was exactly what we wanted and couldn’t be faulted. Would have liked a heated towel rail as we got soaked through one night and it was not easy to dry clothes or towels for that matter. The beach is very very near, plenty to do and see. Loads of great eateries, bars and cafes. Uni not to far. We will be back and hopefully soon.
Lovely little hote in the perfect location to explore beach and city. I booked one of the smaller but was plenty of room for a couple without getting in each other's way. Super comfortable bed with a fantastic shower and roomy bathroom the breakfast was included and maintained the standard everything was of the highest quality definitely be back
We had a two night stay here with friends. We had Paris room, they had Tokyo. Both rooms were nicely decorated and super clean. Paris was the bigger of the two with a nice sitting area and lots of windows. Breakfast was good too. Owners very welcoming. 20 minutes outside of town but right near the beach and headland walks. Will definately go back.
The hotel is a few minutes’ walk from the beachfront where you can walk along the entire stretch of the sandy sardinero beach. There are some lovely bars and eateries close by and the town centre is about 20 minutes’ walk. We were welcomed by Michel, (whose English is amazing) and all the other staff we met during our stay were so friendly and helpful. We brought a bike with us which they were very accommodating of. Breakfast was included with our stay; it was continental-style where you could help yourself, and included cheeses, meats, tortilla, cereals, yoghurts, cake & lots more! If you have a car, street parking outside the hotel was free!
