A Room in the City is located in a former convent in the city center of San Sebastian, our hostel opens its doors to provide a cozy environment to sleep and meet other travelers, offering the perfect base camp to explore the city. The hostel is located right in the heart of San Sebastian, just within a 3 minute walk to La Concha beach, a short walk to La Zurriola surf beach and a 10 minutes seaside walk to the Old Town, the main hub for nightlife and great food. Calle Easo is in the historical centre of the city, the main shopping area and a nice neighborhood to walk along big avenues and pedestrians streets with plenty of terraces to chill out on and beautiful art nouveau buildings. A room in the city offers shared dorms and also private rooms in a beautifully decorated house with equipment to have a meal or coffee. The rooms are spacious and with natural light. Common facilities include, living room, library/TV/Computer room, exhibition Hall and a dining room equipped with microwave, toasters, kettles, fridge, dishes, cutlery, cups and glasses
Such a twist to what a hostel usually is, the contemporary paintings and pieces on the walls really give it a fun touch. Toilets always clean, beautiful terrace, super nice staff, vending machine with snacks and water and just in general an enjoyable experience, will be back ❤️

Very nice hostel in Spain city San Sebastian. The location is nice, close to beach and city center. Hostel has kitchen to prepare food in basement. Restorant is near entrance. Nice and kind staff. No dislikes. Liked everything.

A Room In The City, more like A Hole In The City. I’ve had worse, but this place sucked. First impressions weren’t fine when the private bathroom door in the hallway didn’t lock, rendering it useless. “A Room In The City” without an ensuite is not a room at all. My sheets were as thin my grandmas undies and they were ripping by the second night. But the worst part was, a very homeless looking fat sweaty man came bounding in our room at about 2:30 in the morning muttering to himself, and was nearly always naked if I got myself a sight of him. Funny part was police came in the room the next night with an employee to what we thought was to escort this man out of the damn premises. But no, she even told us to go back to sleep. Overall, overpriced for what it is. Get an AirBnB instead.…

We all loved it! The kids too. Great spaces and cozy environments. The rooms are clean and there is so muck to look at and explore. The private garden and rooftop terrace truly adds to the experience of an amazing hostel!

I stayed here few nights and like it a lot. + perfect location, walkable distance to the station + 2 minutes from the beach + tidy, cosy rooms + friendly staff + privacy also at dorms (thanks to the curtains) - I would just improve little bit the kitchen: couldn't find any scissors, knives etc. The facilities of the kitchen are fine if you just need to boil water or use microwave. If I sometimes get again to San Sebatian, I most likely will return here.

Easy walk from bus/train station. Very clean tidy. Bed comfortable. Check in very simple and easy. Staff had Perfect English (useful for me). Access to building and room all via Wrist Band Electronic access very helpful. Everything is in short walk distances, Old Town and Beach all close.

My friend and I stayed in room 6 on the ground floor. It was very clean and enough space for a hostel. The bed is very comfortable and windows open for air. Unfortunately I was woken up at 6am every single morning by doors slamming throughout the building, so loud that it sounded like it could have been in the room. On the final night some guys moved into the room next door and I could hear them showering, using the toilet, talking and of course slamming doors. On the Friday and Saturday the bar was open until after 12, this backed directly onto our room and was of course very loud. The rest of the time anyone sitting in the bar area making any noise travelled into our room, for example a woman having a coughing fit at 6am, I had to check it wasn't my friend in the bunk below because it was so loud. Good luck sleeping in this place!!…

The hostel has a great location and the staff is very friendly. The beds are amazing as well! Very thick mattress, own bed light and socket and best of all, a curtain for extra privacy. We slept quite well. Only downside though is that wegen people sleep above you and climb up, it’s very loud and can wake you up. But Overall we had a great stay!

Beds were the hostel's strong-suit. Incredibly sturdy and comfortable bunk beds, designed with curtains to make you feel like you have your own private quarters. Wrist-band keycard for rooms & lockers was novel. Staff seemed somewhat disinterested and there was also issues re the check-in, as I was sent to the wrong address in my confirmation email.
