Not a 4 star hotel. First room had broken safe and smelled like rotten eggs due to sewer problem so we moved to another room. The carpet (see picture) was terrible, the walls battered, the bathroom door drags on the swollen, warped floor, the toilet runs, and the deck looks like it needed paint years ago. See the pics. Almost checked out, so Anna from customer experience called to meet with us. We went to the lobby and she never showed. I would avoid this place. I stayed in hotels around the world and don't normally write a review. Oh, and wifi doesn't work in the room.

Hotel's Favourite
We are just back from a two-night stay at the Melia (Level) March 31st to April 2nd 2023. Temperature was 29° to 31°. Bliss, with a light breeze to the intensity away. My wife and I loved every minute of our stay. I must say that it is well worth paying extra for the Level if you can. The hotel is fantastic, even if you don't, with a second rooftop terrace and pool available to everyone. The Level is just extra-special, with a beautiful lounge area and relaxed feel. The Level hosts are also very helpful, with a special mention for Jasmine, who could not have done more to help make our stay more amazing. No hustle and bustle at meal times. Just always chilled out. Very different to the usual hotel experience. Us: Couple in our 40s, Scottish, have kids so were looking for a short break to relax without them. Stayed B&B and booked Level room 923 (would highly recommend, as it is one below the level lounge and you can just use the stairs. Saves waiting on lifts; however, there were three lifts anyway). The room next door was also a Level room. Food and drink We only ate in the Level Lounge. Breakfast was typical of a 4* hotel I.e. eggs, bacon, sausages, etc. Plus a chef making omelette and poached eggs etc. To order. The difference was the amount and variety of fresh fruits (dragon fruit for example), pastries and yogurts. Little extra things, like Nutella, HP sauce, cava, Iberian ham and smoked salmon if you wanted something a more special. All included in the Level Lounge, no extra charges. Level daytime snacks: You help yourself to branded soft drinks, sweets, cakes, nuts, crisps, cava (rose and white), water and red wine. Beer isn't included through the day and as a beer drinker, I was a little disappointed before I went, but not when I got there. Basically, not having beer all day probably puts a lot of people off who would abuse it. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. It felt very exclusive and calm, so I think it's the right thing. They have zero alcohol beer in the fridge (the fridges are stocked with coke, Fanta limon etc., you just help yourself). I found myself drinking the cava (tall glass, rose mixed with Fanta limon, ice and fruit) which was quite strong, so drinking the zero alcohol beer helped to pace myself! The cava and wine was nice. 11.5% cava and the wine was a 14% tempranillo. It was really nice and didn't taste strong. Level evening snacks: From 7pm until 9pm there was everything that you got through the day plus: Cooked snacks, such as pastries, tortilla chips and guacamole, houmous and bread sticks, sushi, meats such has parma ham etc., cakes etc. Really nice. You also had a range of branded spirits to help yourself to. Beefeater gin, smirnoff vodka etc. In addition, you had cans of Heineken and CruzCampo to help yourself to. I took a few to my room and kept them in the minibar for the next day. I hadn't realised you weren't allowed to until I tried it again the next day... oops! The hotel have evening entertainment, such as flamenco shows etc. Bar prices compare with Scottish prices. Beers from 3euro to 5euro. Cocktails were around 8 or 9 euro. Extra info: You can order and pay for lunch in the Level. My wife got gazpacho and a chicken caesar salad. I got a chicken flatbread with chips. Reasonable prices. We ordered "a cartridge" of chips one day. Thought 6euro was a bit steep for chips; however, the portion was massive. We didn't finish them between the two of us. Room 923 wasn't huge, but had a king bed and balcony with sea view. No bath, but a double shower, tv and comfy seats. Bathrobes, slippers and safe. Coffee maker and mini bar. Eating out: Lots of places nearby, with a little Italian approx 200 yards from the hotel. Pizzas were outstanding! Approx 8euro and was 5 euro for a cocktail. Beach is sand and shingle, so take beach shoes if you like to walk it. This was our first time in Torremolinos and we loved it. All in all, a brilliant resort and a fantastic hotel. Cannot wait to go back... just need babysitters so we can do the Level again!

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of May 23 in a level room and it was fantastic! Patricia in the level lounge couldn’t have done any more to help us and the pool staff were very attentive. The level lounge has everything you need to have a relaxed day, with breakfast in the morning, then help yourself wine, soft drinks, and snacks available from lunchtime & spirits and beer between 7pm and 9pm. One of the best things about the level lounge is there were plenty of available beds around the pool area at any time of the day - no need to get up early. The room itself was very clean, had an extremely comfy bed, and a good sized balcony. The only fault of the hotel was although the dinner buffet food in the main restaurant was excellent and of a high quality, not all of it was labelled correctly e.g. a tuna and onion pizza was out but the label said margarita (many other examples) then also in some cases the English translation wasn’t correct. Overall a fanatic say and would definitely recommend a level room. Can’t wait to return!

We stayed a week at Melia. The hotel is beautiful with spacious and clean rooms. The location is amazing. If you're looking for a quiet room, avoid those facing the pool. The loud music was playing till the late night. The day after our arrival we swapped our room for another, and I forgot my new phone charger on the bed in the original room. It was never found, even though I asked for it every day at the front desk. These things shouldn’t happen in 4-star hotel. That's the reason why we will not return to the hotel. Don't buy excursions from the hotel because they don't have the correct bus departures listed and you may miss out on the trip as happened to us. The best thing about the hotel was receptionist Nuria Martinez, who was always very nice, helpful and her service was of the highest standard. Not always good quality food in the hotel restaurant. Totally professional was an elderly waiter named Aguilar.

Dear Lindas7719Ac, Thanks for taking the time to review your stay at our hotel. We are delighted to hear that you found our hotel beautiful and appreciated the spacious, clean rooms and amazing location. However, we apologize for the inconvenience caused by the noise from the pool area and are glad that you were able to change rooms. Regarding your phone charger, we understand how frustrating it can be to lose personal items, and we assure you that our team does their best to locate and return lost items to our guests. Nonetheless, it is wonderful to know that our receptionist, Nuria Martinez, provided exceptional service during your stay. We also appreciate your feedback on the restaurant and will share your comments with our team to improve the quality of our food offerings. All of the team hope that we may be able to see you again in the future. Kindest regards, Carmen González Guest Experience

This has to be one of the best hotel we have stayed in. The hotel is beautiful. We stayed for 10 nights and were upgraded to a larger room at the front of the hotel. We we not disappointed. A spacious room, well furnished and absolutely spotless clean. Room had a kettle with tea, coffee and milk and a fridge. Towels were massive and changed regularly as was the bed. All the toiletries are gorgeous from Rituals. We left a well deserved tip for the Housekeeper. All the staff are so helpful, pleasant and exceptionally well trained. Nothing was too much trouble. Food in the restaurant is varied and excellent quality. There is an amazing choice and something for everyone. They have a show chef that cooks eggs / omelettes at breakfast and meats / fish at other times. Highly recommend this hotel. It was more of an experience than a stay.

We always look forward to our visits to Melia Costa Del Sol, the Level. A lot of the staff remain the same which is lovely. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always very quick to sort out any issues. The only thing that we were not a fan of was the change of reception. The main entrance is now through block 1 and if going from the reception to the Level in block 2 it is quite a long way. We are looking forward to our next visit already.

We stayed at the Level. Adult only This is an oasis of calm atop a very busy hotel. The pool is wonderful. If a little small and cold. But we found the hot tub and that was warming The views are amazing. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food that’s available all day is not the best but provides a nibble or two. We’re not heavy drinkers, so the spirits that came out in the evening were wasted on us. The wine that was available all day was very nice. So although we did not get good value from the drinks, the fact that it was so quiet, and with magnificent views, meant that it was well worth the money. Breakfast is served up here as well and that is lovely and restful. Our room was a sea view suite and perfect for what we wanted. Views and a quiet night’s sleep with fresh air when the balcony door is open Thoroughly recommended

They publish "Free wifi" instead of "Wifi free", there is a big difference in that. Offering a free wifi or being a wifi free hotel. Overloaded wifi. The word " free" is in the wrong place, difficult to get a connection. Thrown out of wifi constantly, and it is slow, realy really slow. Wifi is like asking for running water and a toilett these days. Please fix this. Other things are okey but I need my wifi. Have a great day everybody.

Dear ottoe465, First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding your recent experience at our Meliá Costa del Sol Hotel. You can rest assured that we take into consideration all our guests' comments, since it is only through listening to them that we can always improve our facilities and services. With reference to our wifi service, we deeply regret that it did not meet your expectations and we would like to express our sincerest apologies.
