Brand new hotel offering peace and quiet. Excellent and friendly staff though not very much in evidence as this is more like a block of residential flats with their own very well equipped kitchens. The decor is quite bleak and could do with some greenery in the reception area to give a more welcoming atmosphere. Likewise, the bedrooms were austere and did not have any mirrors other than a shaving mirror which was very odd. The shower room is separated from the living area by a clear glass screen so even the toilet is in full view of whoever might be in the living area or balcony. Again a strange and uncomfortable concept for us. The balcony was large but the smoke from smokers on neighbouring balconies kept gathering in our balcony and most of the balconies were very much looked over due to the design of the building.
The beds are extremely comfortable with the best pillows ever and the pool area is lovely with plenty of sun loungers towels etc. The pool is heated year round.
The food was good and there is a nice comfortable sitting area alongside the restaurant where you can eat outside in the shade.
There was a very pretty walk along a path to the beach but the hotel doesn't have it's own beach beds.

We only stayed one night, so the cost was high, we believe for longer stays the price per night comes down. We came to use the various options in the Spa and to stay to have the evening meal as well as breakfast before leaving. This was to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary. We had a marvelous experience, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the experience in the Spa was excellent and the food was superb. The spacious rooms are not like any other hotel, these are fully fitted and well equipped apartments, everything you need is provided in the kitchen, and a large terrace overlooks the garden and swimming pool.

As this has only been open a short time, there were some problems. The fire alarm went off a few times - false alarms! We understood the apartments were sound proof, but ours was not. Probably due to having a connecting door to our neighbour. But we also heard other people and doors closing, also some work was heard from outside our room.

As this is aimed at the over 50's there are a couple of things we would have expected. In the bathroom there should be a magnifying mirror, and in the room we would have appreciated having a full length mirror somewhere. Also as we used the Spa we would have liked to have a robe and slippers offered. We liked the free supply of drinking water, but did not like having to go up to higher floors to get it. Having said all this it was a very enjoyable time.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cohen, Thank you very much for your excellent comment on TripAdvisor and gioving us also vaulable feedback on your recent stay with us. I am happy that you enjoyed your stay at our new Hotel and liked its facilities and its services, but also appreciated your comments on the noise from still ongoing works, which have ended of course in the meantime. The sound insolation between connecting rooms will be improved soon and also slippers and bathrobe have been made available and will be delivered by the housekeeper. Having already been at THE FLAG Costa del Sol three times, I'd want to share three extremely positive experiences with you. THE FLAG is a modern and fresh hotel that is very good positioned for both Marbella and the surrounding area. However, you can also choose to use the new and excellent workout facility, the saltwater heated pool, eat well in the restaurant, or go down to the beach.
The staff, whether at reception, the restaurant, those who keep your room nice and clean, or those who look after the pool, are all highly service minded, correct, and very kind - they simply make you feel comfortable. Thank you for three enjoyable stays. We will return soon.

It has to decide what it is? Is it a Hotel? Is it a Retirement Home? Is it serviced Apartments? Is it Adults Only or is a Family Haven? The place really has no concept of what it wants to be.

We had a standard room, great space great kitchenette, but big sign saying it would be cleaned once every three days - yet we have had service each day - again - it just doesn't know what it is

It has zero sole.

All Front of House Staff are attractive with attitudes to match! Back of house are all lovely and acknowledge you at least.

Pool is lovely, but no atmosphere, no music - service bells by sun-loungers great if someone reacted to them.

There is NOTHING close by, taxis required constantly, and when returning in a cab from anywhere - cab drivers do not know of it so you have to instruct them where to go.

You CANNOT check in a minute before 3pm and if you want to check out anytime after 11am it will be an additional 100EUR.

WARNING - if you get Lucia on Reception - brace yourself for zero customer service, zero smiles and zero flexibility.

Would we be back absolutely NOT

This boutique hotel is marketed by its management in all their correspondence, website, every email sign off and all in house brochures & menus as a 'wellness centre of complete relaxation ' with a photo of a female yoga figure looking out to sea, no less!! Our first week was indeed peaceful and just what was required for the rest I needed for medical reasons. Week 2 and a party of 18-30 age group of friends arrived who completely disrespected the type of wellness spa boutique hotel The flag publicizes itself as! ( the manager actually commented to us 'they do not fit here!')- from the very first moment they checked in, their disruptive behavior was evident, swearing screaming arguments on their balconies directly overlooking the only small pool area and also immediately next door our room! High on party and laughing gas drugs + alcohol around the pool and adjacent terrace restaurant for hours on end, screaming bad language into their phones at every chance they got, which made it impossible to relax around the small pool area during the day. Their continued disruption when they arrived back from nights out in the early hours without any thoughts that other guests were sleeping, dragging noisy furniture around their balconies partying at full volume with music playing on their at 4 am! Management acknowledged there was a problem and assured us it would stop and that they had been warned off on numerous occasions including blocking key cards until they had reported to management. It was even suggested to us on one occasion that they would be moved to another building the management owned but in reality the money from this large party was too much of a welcomed payment from a hotel that did not have many bookings, so they were not about to ask them to leave! One of the staff advised us that the German family who owns the hotel (and numerous other 'wellness centres' so they definitely should have known better) were in town and were very upset that their template of 'A wellness hotel of complete relaxation ' had been violated but not enough it seems to actually do anything constructive to stop it! We on the other hand, although the management acknowledged liability were only offered a very minimal refund of two nights when our entire second week was ruined and we had to complain on numerous occasions during that second week. Far from relaxed, we arrived home in the UK not feeling well and stressed due to not having experienced the wellness, deep relaxation holiday we should have had, described and sold to us by by the hotel management. So disappointing as it could be a lovely' go to ' place to relax when managed properly and in keeping with the genre of hotel it is being marketed as.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us. We are truly sorry to hear that your second week with us did not provide the peace and relaxation you were expecting and needed. Our hotel is committed to offering a serene and restful environment for all our guests. The group you mentioned was an exception that presented significant challenges for us. We responded swiftly to the disturbances and took several measures to restore the peace and quiet. Despite our best efforts, the situation was difficult, and we deeply regret that it impacted your stay. We are pleased that you enjoyed your first week with us and found the relaxation you were seeking. Your feedback is important to us, and we will use it to prevent such incidents in the future, ensuring that our hotel continues to meet the high standard of a “wellness centre of complete relaxation.” We would love the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with the restful stay you deserve. Please feel free to reach out to us in advance so that we can make sure your needs are fully met. Kind regards, THE FLAG Costa del Sol

NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL. The staff are outrageous, all FOH think they are way better than the customers.

The hotel design and decor is top notch, very cool and looks (from the outside and pictures) like it has a really cool vibe. However, it lacks any kind of vibe and certainly has no atmosphere.

The pool area needs a little music, again it looks like it is going to have a real cool chill vibe, until the Aqua-Gym starts, which looks like to be a pensioners day out.

Rooms are great, not sure if they are apartments or rooms, daily service, despite info in the rooms saying they will be serviced every three days - thy say they are eco friendly and asks guests to respect that - yet cleaning staff put the dishwasher on for just 2 glasses.

Hotel seems a little confused as to what it wants to be

Nothing close, so expect to get taxis everywhere. Could do with a shuttle bus every now and a again, as like others here, we have experienced difficulties in getting back at night as drivers have never heard of it therefore dont know where it is.

Front of house staff really let it down - Lucia? By far the worst and should NOT be in hospitality

What a hidden gem. Inside an apart hotel. Situated near the pool is a cover terrace with fires and internal dinning. The service was very personal and the food of good quality. We had the Pil pil which was loaded with big juicy gambas, octopus with roast potatoes which was grilled to perfection and Mai course seafood Paella. We all enjoyed the relaxing ambience and fabulous food. The waitress was very good in advising which dishes were gluten free.

An absolute oasis in the heart of Estepona. Brand new facilities, very spacious and generously sized rooms. Great attention to detail and very clean rooms. Hotel staff was an absolute delight to deal with, where nothing asked was ever too much trouble. Probably one of the best breakfasts we have enjoyed in the recent years/trips, where simplicity and flavor were executed marvelously and very kind and professional staff. Walking distance from the beach, and close to many restaurants just a drive away. Excellent gym facilities and charming pool area. Dinner service was absolutely what we were looking for, balancing healthy & Spanish delicacies. We will definitely be back!

The story is simply that I booked this hotel to come as a second destination of my summer holiday with my friend . My first distinction is London then Marbella then back to Saudi from Malaga airport.
My flight from London was cancelled after 6 hours of waiting at the airplane and they did not help us with any alternative flight.
That situation was so bad and very difficult. I informed the hotel on the same date in the night and I was thinking that they will help me with the booking and have some sympathy to me and what I have gone through. They simply did not and charged the entire cost without any negotiation or even a discussion.
The message here is simple, you can book to stay here , but if you ever get stuck at any airport in the world for whatever reason this hotel will charge you the entire cost and not get you any money back.

From the minute you walk in the modern architecture and fresh interior stand out.
It is beautifully clean throughout even pool changing rooms and all hidden corners.
The rooms are very spacious massive balcony’s and bathrooms and little kitchenette and espresso machine s nice touch.
Salt water pool is beautiful and heated so it’s not too cold. The sun loungers are the most comfortable I’ve ever used and I’m a heavy guy. The whole place is just so relaxing it’s amazing. Spa and gym again clean and well equipped.
Food is also very good, as well as the local fish that you’d expect, they had some of the best beef I’ve eaten. Had a T Bone one night and a veal entrecôte the other. Everything I ate was seasoned to perfection and it’s clear the chefs care. I’m a chef myself so I should know.
Can’t recommend this place enough.
Already planning my next visit.
God bless
Best wishes Paolo
