Kempinski trip advisor In true kempinski style, we had such a lovely time here. Came away with my mum for a 9 night stay, and as a platinum member I have stayed at a large number of kempinski’s across the globe, and is my favourite brand. We were greeted with warmth from the get go, starting with Olaf at reception, and were truly looked after. All of the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, service with a smile, but a special thank you goes to Bianca, the lady in red, who truly made our stay extra special. She is an asset to not just your hotel but the brand as a whole. Great sense of humour, and always gave a warm smile and a little chat whenever she saw us. It felt like we were staying with family. Nothing was a problem for the hotel, it was very unfortunate I fell ill (not the hotel’s fault!) but the hotel brought up honey, lemon and ginger, and even went out to get some paracetamol for me, and I made a recovery after a few days. In the morning, breakfast has a huge selection of various foods, presented beautifully, with warm and welcoming staff. In particular, the lady who serves freshly made omelettes (I didn’t catch her name!) was always so happy and a delight! Some of the days (although not every day) we were given a chilled health drink which was a really nice touch. We were lucky as we came away in September, so there weren’t that many kids, but the pool has an adults only area which should be in all hotels - it was lovely and quiet and nice to get away from the few squawking kids that were there. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and well kept. The restaurant was closed so we had to rely on the Spiler beach club for dinner, and we got room service a few times as I wasn’t feeling well. The room service menu is rather limited but the food on there is delicious! Food in general at the hotel was a little pricey for what it is (higher than London prices) but was top-notch nonetheless. The spiler beach club was a bit confusing as it had a fairly empty area that was for non-residents only (a strange concept), I heard that the club is separate however it’s on all of the hotel materials so I never quite understood what was going on there. There’s a little boutique shop on premises which sells little bits and some clothes. The housekeeping staff work incredibly hard and our room was made beautifully and spotless every day. The hotel is incredibly clean and their work is faultless. They were always so friendly when we ran into each other! It would have been nice to have pool service as there were a number of staff hanging around the pool areas seemingly not doing anything (they may have been lifeguards, I’m not sure), and other kempinskis I’ve been to have had staff on hand roaming around the pool areas to see if you need drinks or snacks etc, so if I had one critique it would be this. It’s just a little nice touch of convenience. However, it didn’t detract from our stay as it was made up by the impeccable service elsewhere.

Very nice hotel needs some attention to detail to bring it back to the glory days of 20 years ago Lots of changes some better some worse but all in all pleasant stay. I’m not sure I would rush back as there are far better alternatives throughout the Mediterranean but the next time I’m in Estepona it will be one of my options

Upon entering the hotel you are greeted firstly by Lola and Paco, a cute parrot couple, located in front of the lobby. When you walk through the revolving doors, you find yourself in the beautiful lobby overlooking the sea. Impressive interior design! We did not spend the night but a beautiful day at the hotel. We started the day with an amazing breakfast buffet. The breakfast offers something for everyone. From fresh bread and pastries over eggs (live cooking station) and local charcuterie (Iberian ham and sausages) wonderful cheese to a fresh fruit selection, jams and a honeycomb. If it tickles your fancy, you can also start the day with a glass of cava, fresh juices, etc. There is also a kid‘s corner for the little ones with a variety of cereals, pancakes, etc. Additionally, you find an Asian corner with original dishes, we did not try but looked great. We then moved on to the garden area to spend the day sun bathing and dipping into the pool. The compound is very clean and well taken care of. Views are spectacular onto the sea. With a regular day pass you are provided sun beds, umbrellas, towels and water in a cooler. The staff is super helpful and will provide additional umbrellas when you require additional shade. (If there is anything to moan about, it would be the water cans and plastic straws - here might more sustainable options be more beneficial, though I also understand the comfort aspect). For lunch we went to the beach restaurant „Spiler“ where we had the steak with veggies and chimichurri (exceptionally great) and the burrata with a selection of tomatoes accompanied by two mocktails which were very tasty and especially beautiful to look at. Service was very attentive and helpful. We also visited the sanitary facilities which, in different locations, were all very clean and a little highlight is the soap and lotion from Molton Brown (smells divine). All in all a perfect day with great service, amazing food and spectacular views. Highly recommend!

Dear Nadine, We would like to thank you for sharing your experience with us. It brings us great pleasure to learn that you thoroughly enjoyed your day at our hotel, relishing our amenities and culinary offerings. We acknowledge the privilege of our unrivaled location. Your concern for sustainability resonates with us deeply. We are committed to adopting eco-conscious practices wherever feasible. As an example, our straws are biodegradable. Within our pool area and gardens, the use of glass or ceramic is not permitted, opting instead for bamboo tableware and reusable or biodegradable plastic utensils. Rest assured, we are dedicated to continual improvement in this regard, diligently pursuing sustainable solutions. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to welcome you again in the near future. Visited the hotel for a day at spa and pool. One of the reasons because they have a Tesla charger. However, at the desk they informed that only guests were allowed to use the charger. Very strange to define spa / restaurant visitors paying 400+eur as not guests. Visitors be aware!

Dear Felixe, We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. At our facilities, we have a Tesla charger reserved for our registered guests. This policy is clearly outlined on Tesla's website, which is regularly consulted by their clientele. We are fortunate to see a growing commitment to sustainability, with many of our guests owning electric vehicles and reserving parking to ensure their cars remain charged at all times. However, we do not currently possess a charging point equipped with individual metering, which makes providing this service to all drivers a complex task. We sincerely hope that despite this issue, you were able to enjoy your time with us at our premises. Warm regards, Belén Arenas Director of Rooms

Wonderful and romantic setting along the Ocean in the Costa del Sol. Friendly and most attentive staff. Great view from the Hotel. Property well taken care of. Certainly, a place to visit again. in the future. Outstanding service from the Concierge: ESTELLE and the LADY IN RED as well as Maximiliano Zannino and Pascual Benavides at the Black Rose. Great Wi-Fi throughout the property except for Room Balcony where non-existent and had to Hotspot from Phone (expensive) Unfortunately beach (public!) should be grromed and taken care.

This is a lovely hotel with great facilities, beautiful bedrooms, with comfortable beds and really helpful service at reception. All members of staff smile and say hello when you pass them. The children loved the kids club, which had a lot of varied activities. We really loved visiting and would love to come back. The only complaint I have is that the hotel allows guests to go out early morning and use items to reserve sun loungers. Even items like books, baseball caps etc. No towels! Just an item. This brings the standard and attractiveness of the hotel down in my opinion. A life guard told me I couldn’t move a book that had been left on a sunlounger to reserve it. In other five star hotels I’ve stayed in, reserving sun beds is not allowed. One family reserved sun beds every day and never appeared before 1pm to use them. It’s such a shame. The other complaint was the service at Balthazar which was painfully slow. We had to keep asking for things again and again. At one point I called the waitress over. She acknowledged me, then took a wine list to some guests, and seated two more couples before coming over. I retrieved a bottle of wine from Spiler that we hadn’t finished and heard them commenting in Spanish about it (not knowing I speak Spanish). So other than allowing guests to reserve beds and the staff at Balthazar, I loved the resort.

I would like to thank you in particular for your kind words regarding our reception service and kids club but also when it comes from our dedicated staff, this is always a great motivation for the team. Your recommendation score is highly appreciated. However we must apologise for the inconveniences experienced from Baltazar and Spiler service and for the situation with reserving the pool sunbeds, in fact we do not allow to reserve the sunbeds in our property, the pool staff have instructions to collect the guest belongs from the sunbeds if they notice that they are not being used in a reasonable period of time. Certainly all the issues experienced are more related with training topics, now is our time to not miss this opportunity and tap any potential areas. Thank you for that, our main aim is to enhance our guest satisfaction further. Lovely clean hotel, all staff friendly and attentive. The room was spacious, lovely and clean and had a nice view over the beach. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Staff at breakfast were fab, food choice was vast and there were diifferent changes each day to keep a variety. Plenty of choice of cooked, cerelas, fruit, breads and pastries, cold meats etc and nothing ever seemed to run out. Staff at the pool bar were good, drinks were certainly not lacking in alcohol! Never had an issue with getting a sunbed even when coming down later in the morning, and it was nice to have an adults only pool. We never ate at the hotel other than breakfast so cant comment on evening meals, food at the pool bar was nice and tasty though. The downsides we found were lack of music or some sort of entertainment of an evening as hotel very quiet and also due to location, there is nothing within walking distance such as bars or a town meaning taxis had to be used and these were quite expensive. The hotel is a lovely place for a relaxing holiday though and we would happily stay again
