Top marks for design and decor - we loved the quirky, colorful furniture and beautiful grassy balcony. Our room was spacious, with huge windows (and relatively decent curtains). The breakfast buffet looked great, but we didn't get to take part because (the hotel didn't tell us this), you had to sign up in advance for a breakfast time slot, because of coronavirus, and it was mostly booked for the next day by the time we arrived at 7:00pm (as were the in-house parking spaces). Front desk staff wasn't particularly friendly. Not a lot of good options nearby for eating our sightseeing (despite being right downtown), but it was a good stopover place on a road trip.
It was easy enough to find, you cannot miss the structure and its spires even without SatNav! In addition to the absolutely unique accommodation, the staff was highly responsive and very helpful. This applies particularly to a package which we had delivered directly to the hotel. The breakfast, even under Covid-19 conditions, which meant it was served in a personalised box, was excellent. We especially loved the little garden outside our room. A unique experience!
If you like quirky, colorful hotels, then this is the place for you. There is an elevator to the first floor, where all of the rooms are located. HundertWasserHaus at least merits a visit even if you stay elsewhere. There is a small museum in the courtyard, and you can climb the tower for a fee. If street noise bothers you, then you may wish to stay elsewhere. In the off season, please bring some serious German language skills; and only check in after 1500. Breakfast is very nice, in a cozy room downstairs. The coffee machine, however, is only available at breakfast time. This was not a problem for us, but if you need afternoon coffee, you may have to go elsewhere. The Christmas Market here was lots of fun, with a regular market section and then a medieval market. The city was lit for its application to world city status. The extra lights really made the visit beautiful.…
This hotel is extra-ordinary, it is truly THE site to experience In Magdeburg. Hundertwasser’s wonderful building we would love to see more alike of in other cities around the world of boring square metal and glass buildings. We joined the building sightseeing walk as well, excellent experience. Room was great, bathroom outstanding due to design, tasteful comprehensive breakfast, parking garage and friendly personnel
Location was good with street parking for the normal city rates. It is a work of art by Hundertwasser both outside and in. The Bathroom was a cross between Gaudi/Mondrian/Dali. What fun. Staff a little laid back. No AC. But a great experience.
