Free upgrade to an Executive room which was nice, clean and didn't feel cramped. Efficient, friendly check in staff. Executive lounge open till 9 pm, but no staff in sight and no food at 8.30pm which was disappointing. Glad I didn't pay for this!
I was very concerned about earlier reviews on TA related to breakfast or lack thereof. I actually delayed booking a night’s stay until after receiving our negative covid test in Greece and until I was forced to enter a hotel name for our Germany paperwork. And of course the room price had risen significantly by the time I booked. The hotel was hard to find (horrible signage and airport staff seemed unaware of the hotel’s location. Once we found the hotel I must say I was impressed. The girl at checkin was so kind and welcoming, adding my Hilton # to the reservation, upgrading us to the executive floor and making a breakfast reservation. She even helped with internet access and directed us to a nearby area in the mall/train station for dinner. As a Hilton gold member the breakfast was complimentary. Because of covid the hotel serves your choice of breakfast items from a substantive menu (rather than a self-service buffet). Omelets and muesli were excellent and the coffee pot at the table was much appreciated. Room itself was spacious with both a tub and shower in the bathroom. A very classy Hilton!…
Took a long time to get checked in, probably 10 people waiting and only 1 person behind the counter. Booked 2x double rooms. Was told that we got an upgrade, but turned out to be only one double room. Was told that there were 4 beds, but only 2. Had to argue for quote some time to finally get the second room, that I already paid for. Keycards didn't work after that, so had to go up and down several times until it fi ally worked. The major disappointment was the restaurant that served pizza from the freezer. 17 euro for freezer pizza, really? It wasn't even properly heated. Asked the waitress and the looked really ashamed while admitting they were serving freezer pizzas. But did not get any discount.
This was the second stay at this hotel. It is located above the main railway station of the airport and as far as I know is the only hotel round the airport where you can have a room looking on the outside with woods all around. The room was comfortable and big enough and very quiet. I was staying overnight between flights and did not use any other facilities. It is a very convenient location to explore Frankfurt and the surrounding area considering the big train station is just there, yet the airport terminals are also very close by. I stayed recently at another hotel at the airport to try something different and much preferred the Hilton, even though the other hotel is supposedly more luxurious. The only negative comment: the hotel is very- very badly signposted and it took forever to find it from the airport terminal! Follow sign for Banhof ( railway station) or for Marriott/ Sheraton hotels and once you are by the Sheraton, follow signs for Double Tree. The Double Tree hotel is next to the Hilton, but the Hilton is not signposted! Once you reach the plaza where the train station is, the hotel is on your right, one floor up. The hotel website has no guidance whatsoever of how to find it. I am someone who generally does not get lost yet spent a good 30 minutes trying to find it. Did not help that airport staff did not seem to know where it was either!…
For those seeking affordable luxury, this five-star experience offers the perfect solution. Not only is the location ideal, but the staff is friendly and accommodating, making for a truly enjoyable stay. The rooms are kept clean and comfortable, while the breakfast area offers a pleasant atmosphere to start your day off right. All in all, it's an excellent choice for those looking to indulge in a little bit of luxury without breaking the bank.
I had an unexpected stay in Frankfurt due to an outage with Lufthansa's IT systems. I booked into the Hilton Frankfurt Airport to avoid the utter chaos at the terminal. The hotel was comfortable and the room was surprisingly spacious.
I recall fondly the first time I visited this hotel and required lounge access for a long layover, without charge. They accommodated because of my diamond status, but it was very much appreciated as we were only here as a layover. I will never forget that kindness as I was not a paying customer. I've seen some less than complimentary reviews of late in trip advisor, so wanted to set the record straight. I arrived in February, 2023. The lounge was open unattended from noon and attended from 5pm onward and had coffee and a few light snacks. I came back at 6pm to a full dinner, including soup, sandwiches, fruit, bread, cheese and cheese options, among others. Not only was beer and wine served, but also alcohol. Happy hour was between 6-8, and it was more than sufficient. I very much appreciate the attention of Tabitha and Mariel, as they were both attentive to restocking the food ab]nd beverage options, but also attended to bussing tables. Moreover, they were both very cordial and pleasant to deal with in all situations. Although the rooms have dated USB adapters, the hotel is still wonderful. The electrical connections will no doubt be upgraded soon with more modern electronic connections as technology develops, so don't let that deter you from your stay, as most people carry connectors that interface with their destinations anyway. Cheers!…
We have stayed at this hotel many times in transit or as a pre-post holiday stay. Unfortunately the hotel’s standards have fallen. Breakfast staff was great one day and awful the next. The blonde lady at the front of the restaurant is short tempered and rude. The executive lounge is seemingly open for a minute each day. And the rooms are falling apart. As a Diamond Hilton Honors member, there was no bottled water, and nothing special provided. While convenience makes this hotel an ideal spot, I think they have “let things go” in the wrong direction.
Quick and easy check in by friendly staff. As a diamond had access to the Exec Lounge but unfortunately the food offering is very poor minimal effort put in by the hotel. The wine selection is Germany only other choices would have been a g.ood addition. Rooms are fairly large with a good sized bathroom. Best thing about hotel was buffet breakfast which was wonderful on the 2 occasions i stayed.
If you are traveling though Frankfurt or have an early morning flight, the Hilton Frankfort is an excellent choice. It is not a luxury hotel, but very nice, clean, well-appointed and offers an ample breakfast buffet that has a wide array of choices.
