Cute little rooms and amazing owners to stay with. Looking forward to move in for good and try the culinary experience downstairs. Very happy to have found such a nice place and people. Thank you for your help when life was super challenging.

We were just invited to birthday meal and the experience was outstanding. Service with 15 persons was very friendly without any delays. All meals were delicious, hot and very plenty. We needed a doggy-bag :) .... what was no problem. My personal favorite is the "Zwiebelrostbraten" medium rare, a Swabian classic ! To mention, interior needs a refurbish. Thanks

We stayed for one night. The hotel is a bit old fasioned but the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. It is in the centre of the town, so you can easily walk to the centre with all the restaurants.

The hotel is at the central market square of Freudenstadt so it's a very good location to discover the town on foot. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby and the own restaurant of the hotel is also very good. The building is traditional style so be aware that there is no elevator to reach the rooms. The rooms are simple - but cozy and clean.

Booked on the fly in Switzerland at midday and a quick dash over the san bernardhinho pass to arrive road weary at this gem of a hotel. A very warm welcome, clean and comfortable traditionally decorated room, a fantastic dinner in the restaurant, (which judging by the amount of German businessmen, and locals I'm not on my own in thinking that.) Only downside is the bar closes quiet early, (10pm) but there are others within a 2 minute walk, and also a fridge full of reasonably priced bottles which are available for residents.

This is a very friendly hotel providing excellent value. Rooms are spacious and warm, and the bathrooms are perfectly adequate. The décor may be quite a regional old-style, so if you want modern branded hotels, this may not be for you, but if you want very good value, owners who chat to you and cook very good meals, and a sense of being part of the place, then this is ideal. Parking at the back is very handy too.

We stayed here on our way from France to Switzerland, but couldn't resist a drive in the Black Forest. This is a special hotel in a traditional quiet German town (with the largest town square in Germany), on arrival we were met by the owner and tv chef, as you would expect he spoke excellent English, was very welcoming and directed us to our huge room which was beautifully decorated in a traditional style. The entrance to our room was via a private hallway with doors off to bathroom and bedroom, the bed was very large and comfortable. Very quiet with secure parking so a very good nights sleep. The jewel in the crown here is the restaurant, we were able to take our dog in with us, always a bonus, but the food is to die for, one of the finest meals we have ever eaten! Home made soup and a huge salad starter for the better half, my main course was duck which was amazing and the local noodle dish spetizal for my wife which was also ate with gusto, fab desserts followed all washed down with local draught white beer. The only thing missing from this superb hotel and restaurant is a Michelin star, but don't tell everyone, let's keep it a secret amongst ourselves.

The hotel has a rather dated feel about it (late seventies ?), but Freudenstadt is rather an old-fashioned town. Our room was very clean. The bathroom was spacious, if a bit spartan (just a shower, also a chair would have been good). The beds were comfortable, if a little on the short side for tall people. WLAN was most welcome. The disadvantage of having a room above the restaurant was the strong smell of cooking in the evening. However, rooms at the other end of the building might not have this problem. The breaksfast was ok, but nothing special.

We stayed here for one night and it was fine, nothing special. The rooms were good and clean, as was the bathroom. The price was moderate, so the value for the money was positive. The welcome was very courteous by the senior member of the family. We ate dinner in the hotel's restaurant and it was very pleasant and quite good. The service was terrific; the waitress was so pleasant one could almost think it was a put-on.....but it was not! If you need a good-value place to say in this town, you won't go wrong with the Bären.
