The people were friendly. The room was clean. All was old and I like antiques so this place suited me. The pool was too small for exercise so we did not use it. However a mother and her children were having a riotous time. The hotel location was ideal and numerous places to walk our dog. The breakfast was included and super. A lot of variety including fresh blueberries and raspberries. Cold meats, lachs, various cheeses.. lots to choose from. We recommend a simple update in our room. If the flooring was updated from carpet to vinal wood planks it would be in keeping with the place and better for cleaning. We recommend this place and will return.

Two of us stayed one night here - it was a special offer we found online, and was excellent value. the room was very comfortable. The breakfast was buffet style, with a wide range. We were lucky enough to have the hotel pool to ourselves before breakfast. Highly recommended!

We were delighted when shown our room. Huge and comforting with a stunning balcony view. Double sink and bidet in bathroom. Yummy buffet breakfast included with free wifi. A lovely looking pool and sauna, shame we had no togs! Welcoming staff, lift available. A fantastic rate during winter low season, this was a real find. Highly recommended!

We had a great welcome when we arrived and were show to our comfortable and large rooms with nice balconies.
There is a small garden with seating at the front and a parking garage, it even has a swimming pool and sauna (a fact which seemed to be a bit hidden in their website).
There was a great choice at breakfast and very friendly service

It's possible to walk into Freudenstadt from the hotel and it's worth seeing the nice town square with a good selection of restaurants.

A superb, traditional, Black Forest hotel. Spacious room with balcony. Good food (though menu a bit restricted) with excellent breakfast. Super pool and sauna. Secure underground garage. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We stayed here whilst on a cycling holiday for one night. It's great value- simple rooms- not modern deco but clean and comfy. Good breakfast spread too. Bit further out from the centre but easy waking distance. Nice indoor pool for a quick morning dip.

Despite this Hotel being 10 minutes walk fro the town do not be put off by this. The hotel is a gem.We had a beautiful room with two balconies and our own lounge area. Breakfast was awesome. It offers great deals on stays of 2 nights or more for both the hotel and attractions nearby.

We stayed here for 1 night on our return home to the UK, a pleasant looking hotel located in a quiet area. Large rooms and bathroom if a bit dated and need of some minor TLC. The swimming pool is lukewarm bath hot and great after a days riding, free towels provided.
We had a limited menu however it was very good with fresh salmon for starts and pasta with pork. The breakfast was very good with lovely bread.
The only downside for me was that it has no bar area we could find so after you evening meal you can either sit outside, it was cold, or go back to your room.
We would stay again.

After having stayed here previously we decided to stay again due to the underground parking and the pool.
The underground parking is OK but do not place anything on the ground as it is filthy and you will get it covered in dust, it needs a good clean. The rooms are large and the beds OK and the breakfast has everything you could want including bacon and scrambled egg. The closure of the restaurant, it still has beer available, is now however a big drawback. It is 1.1 miles to the closest restaurant in town, an good Italian on the left hand side, also with no supermarkets nearby you cannot "pop out" for crisps etc, OK if it is not raining but a pain in the hot summer.
We will not stay again due to the restaurant closure.

We stayed for one night, at Hotel Hohenried, in September 2016, as part of a longer road trip. The premises were very clean and well organised. The staff were polite and helpful. The en-suite room was clean and well appointed, with a bath tub. There was plenty of hot water and towels. That evening we ate in the hotels restaurant where we had a wholesome meal. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The following morning breakfast revealed a variety of options to nourish you for the day. The premises are located on the outskirts of Freudenstadt, on the edge of woodland. There is on site parking in the hotel's underground car park.
