We arrived quite late at night without a prior reservation but getting a room was no problem. We were given a room with a nice view. The room was very clean but not recently renovated. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant downstairs, lots of locals. The breakfast was sufficient. Very friendly personnel who made us feel very welcome. A dinner at the pub next door is also a good option, especially when the restaurant has a "ruhetag".

Very reasonably priced--we booked directly with the hotel. Large clean room overlooking the street, good breakfast setup with the usual selection of cold cuts, cereals, bread. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

A lovely 'Chalet' style hotel in a nice village in the Black Forest. The bedroom & bathroom are of a good size & comfortable. My room had a balcony. The breakfast is of the usual German style, with a generous choice. The evening meal menu is good & the food & presentation is excellent. The staff are very helpful & friendly. There is a wellness area and the massage was very good & relaxing. It is a good centre for visiting the Black Forest with Stuttgart & Freiburg less than 2 hours away. The only drawback & it is a small one, is that the railway station is at least 1 mile away. A car was essential for me. Would I stay there again _ yes.

We arrived at 9 in the evening, so the reception was closed - this meant that our check-in consisted of a waitress giving us a key to our room, we did not need to sign any thing, and was given absolutely no information. We asked if we could eat in the restaurant, but was told that the kitchen was closed. Apart from this somewhat strange experience, we very much enjoyed our week long stay. Our room was very big, and had a couch and a nice balcony. The rooms are somewhat dated, and very "dark". The bathroom was also quite old, but as this is the cleanest hotel we ever stayed in, it is of no importance that it is old. The breakfast is nice, and they make you the kind off eggs you like on request. Our only complaint is that the Internet is extremely slow, but then again, it is free, and works, so it is not a big problem.

Great hotel. Rooms are wonderful, with balconies who have great views on the surroundings. Hygiene is perfect. Breakfast was very good. Good location (10 minute walk to city center or supermarket). Free parking is available on the backside of the Hotel. Remarks: We arrived at closing day (which is in my opinion weird for a hotel this size). Had to pick up keys in the restaurant next door (which is a good restaurant). Lat remark: I was in the area for walking, I proposed some walks to the reception and they just shut down my proposals and said I had to walk in Baiersbronn itself, a more crowded walking route. For me it's a bit strange that you are located in the Black forest and only propose one walking route in the town you are in. But okay, this is very personal.

At this price range it is clean, comfortable and welcoming. What more could you want. Breakfast was better than average by German standards and the staff most welcoming. The top floor rooms have great views and balconies are a bonus.

We stayed here one night arriving early enough to enjoy the sauna and fitness room facility on the top floor. The sauna is turned off in the early evening when the kitchen starts preparing dinner and does not restart in the morning until after breakfast service has ended. The fitness room and showers are available 24 hours. The spa facility is clean and spacious considering the number of rooms in the hotel. There is a balcony overlooking the countryside to enjoy the view between sauna sessions. Our room was spacious with a separate sitting area and large balcony. Although our room overlooked the street, we heard no traffic noise during the night. Breakfast includes eggs cooked to order as well as an excellent variety of cheeses, meats, fruits, breads, and jams. It was the best breakfast buffet during our four night tour of the Black Forest. The German only dinner menu proved to be somewhat challenging for us. The veal schnitzel with pfiffering mushrooms and roasted duck breast that we ordered were excellent although service is slow. That was not a problem for us because we were content to sit back and relax after a day of sightseeing. This location is a great base for undertaking any of the numerous hiking trails in the area. If we have a chance to return in the future we will stay long enough to try several of these hikes.

The Hotel Falken is located in a small town in the beautiful Blackforest. The room was very clean and pleasant, but not spacious or elegant, which is what one should expect for a moderately priced hotel. The breakfast was very good and the dinning room was decorated beautifully. The one negative was the limited parking space. We arrived at little late and had to park on the street. But it was ok.

The H-R Falken is located in a picturesque part of the Black Forest. Unfortunately we were on a road trip and hadn't allowed enough time to see the area, so we plan to rectify that next year and to stay here for longer. In this part of the world many people don't (won't?) understand or speak English, but here the staff did OK and gave us a warm welcome. Our room was well-sized with a balcony (with a window box) overlooking the street, but it was not noisy. We'd asked for a double, but got two beds pushed together. We had duvets that would have been warm enough for the Arctic, much too warm for us. The hotel has off-street parking but an early arrival obviously gets you the best spot. The restaurant was very busy for dinner since this place is obviously popular with the locals. We took the set menu with a few choices, all of which was very edible, and a very reasonably-priced bottle of Riesling. There was a good choice of food for breakfast, including eggs prepared to order as standard. A special mention for the recommendation we were given for a wine shop in town: Gaiser-Getranke, am Rosenplatz - a great selection of local wines and spirits at reasonable prices - including the wine we drank the previous evening.

Located in a quiet street (30 km/h zone) in Baiersbronn, this family-run hotel is a good place to visit the Black Forest, particularly if your plan is to do some hiking in the area, which is perfectly possible. It is located about 1-hour drive from Baden-Baden and about 90 minutes driving to Triberg. Strasburg is also within a 90 minute drive. Baiersbroon train station is about 10' walk from the hotel. The rooms were clean. Their size depends on the type of room you book (check the different types in the web site). The breakfast was good –specially the fried eggs, which were excellent--. We had half-board for 17 extra euros each, which was quite a good price, since it consisted on several dishes, including dessert (no beverages include in that price, though). The restaurant closes on Tuesdays, but there is an adjacent pub which also serves good --although less elaborated-- food. The only aspect that should be improved in the Hotel is the speed of service at the restaurant during dinners (it took us more than 2 hours to have dinner every evening). Overall, a positive experience, though. We would come back should we’re in the area in the future.
