This smart hotel is in the Main Street and a short walk to the lifts. The rooms are a reasonable size for France, but small by Austrian standards. The pool area is also small but nicely done with jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and pool. The food at both breakfast and dinner was excellent with a friendly team of servers who made us feel welcome. Wine list is pricey but a few good choices around €40. There is a ski shop downstairs with really good up to date equipment and helpful staff. Book online via ski set for good discounts.
Usually stay in a Chalet when skiing in Val d'isere but with 4 in our group opted for a hotel. The Avenue Lodge turned out to be the perfect venue. Rooms slightly larger than normal for the resort. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Breakfast more than enough calories on offer for a day on the slopes. Some great restaurant recommendations for the evening and ski passes/rental hire all managed efficiently within the hotel. Would highly recommend staying here before it gets too popular.
A modern hotel with well apportioned rooms, the highlight of the Avenue Lodge is the staff. From arranging ski passes, recommending hotels, chauffeuring us around town in the complimentary car or indeed the simple courtesy of the breakfast staff asking if you'd like anything else before they start clearing away the buffet, it feels like everyone who works at the Avenue Lodge genuinely cares about your stay. A special thank you to the two Guillaumes for all of their help!
Enjoyed an excellent one week stay. Bedroom was very comfortable and well fitted out though rather noisy from the high street at night with the window open. Very nice atmosphere around the hotel and excellent service from very willing and helpful staff including the concierge who drove us to restaurants and the ski team in the in-house rental. Everything was extremely efficient and we ate twice in the restaurant where the food was first class.
Boutique style hotel in a great location in the center of town, walk to slopes and all restaurants, bars, shops etc. Staff is very accommodating and friendly with a concierge type front desk. We especially like the guys in the ski shop, Dillion and Will (Eng sp). The shop was professional and really took great care with us. They fitted with boots and skis and brought various items over from their larger sister shop for us to try. We used the complimentary driver a couple times to get to various restaurants when it was bad weather. Service was fast for both drop off and pick up. We found the hotel to be extremely clean. Housekeeping came in twice a day and did a great job on our room. The floors are stone, not carpet, so the room felt really clean. Our room was large, with a balcony and the bed was comfortable. There was a mini fridge with large bottles of water, both still and sparkling, restocked at no charge each evening. Our room also had a nespresso coffee machine with pods, etc and a large bath and separate shower. The rooms are a bit on the dark side and even with the all the lights on it was difficult to see things in the closet, etc. The one negative about the hotel is that we found it to be really warm at night when we were trying to sleep. If we opened the doors we got a lot of street noise, esp at 2am when the clubs let out. The front desk wasn’t able to help alleviate the overheating. Breakfast buffet was excellent with great service - quick and friendly. The food was surprisingly good with made to order eggs and omelets. Bar and restaurant were cool looking but not great energy as empty most of the time. It’d be great to have some kind of draw, here, good food, etc, to make it fun to hang out. Spa was really nice with multiple tubs and saunas in addition to pool.…
