Legendary Hotel from the 30's, LE GRAND BALCON re opened in its historical location in the center of Toulouse, Place du Capitole. Real embodiment of the french airmail history and its famous pilots, such as Saint Exupery, Mermoz, and Guillaumet. The design associates luxury and charm in a poetic yet modern signature evocating the dreams and the freedom of these pioneer pilots.

Le Grand Balcon hotel stands out for its stylish ambiance and luxurious rooms that guests find spacious and quiet. The central location in Toulouse is a highlight, offering both convenience and tranquility. While cleanliness receives high marks, especially for the L'Occitane products, there have been some concerns about maintenance. The hotel's amenities, including soundproofing and cozy beds, are often praised, though opinions on value and breakfast cost vary. Service is generally commendable for its attentiveness, despite occasional hiccups in housekeeping and breakfast service.

For a tourist visit to Toulouse Le Grand Balcon is the ideal location ,centered within all the places of interest and the hospitality which we regarded as excellent.Staff at the Le Grand acted with a complete professional attitude with the customer being the centre of their service..The rooms are comfortable and are cleaned daily to a high standard. The food service is also of a high standard. Would certainly return and would recommend to other travellers..

Lovely, clean hotel with a warm welcome from staff. Greeted with macaroons on the table of our hotel room as well as complementary soft drinks in the mini fridge and a card for a complimentary wine for each guest.
The noise from the streets was quite disturbing at certain stages during the night, however the square it is located in is loud in general so it cannot be helped.
Great location overall, in the centre of all the hotspots. Located beside a row of restaurants facing onto the square.

Even before we had arrived I had good feelings about staying here.

I had an email asking if I wanted to check in online to save time and when I asked if they could recommend a Moroccan restaurant Laura one of the reception team responded within 15 minutes.

One thing to remember if you are driving here is that the hotel is in a narrow one way street leading to the main square and it is very busy. There is a bay for unloading but finding the underground car park is not easy. However the cost through the hotel is €19 rather that €29:50 for an overnight stay.

The room was small (Standard) but bed comfortable, good shower and bathroom and although our room was facing the street, the double glazing meant we had no noise.

We didn’t have breakfast as we feel that buffets are too expensive for what you get and the choice we saw wasn’t inspiring.

Would recommend staying here for its comfort, location and friendly/helpful staff.

Dear mixers, I would like to thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Grand Balcon Hotel. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay thanks to the localization of the hotel, located at two steps of the Capitol square, the comfort of your room as well as the kindness of our staff. Your room was 20 square meters, which is a normal size for a Classic room. If you need more space, I suggest for your next stay a Privilege or Deluxe room where you can enjoy more space. Thank you for your kind comment. I will not fail to share your opinion with our team that works every day to offer you the best quality of service. We will be happy to welcome you again so that you can enjoy your stay with us again. Kinds regards,

The location of the hotel is perfect for walking around the town centre and the immediate vicinity. Toulouse is a lovely city with all of the bars, restaurants and shops that you might want.

The hotel itself is quite small. The reception area consists of two standing desks which are often not manned and there is no obvious way to get the attention of staff. The staff themselves though are unfailingly polite and helpful. There is no restaurant although they do allow you to bring food in from outside and eat it in the breakfast/bar area. One nice touch is that they provide free coffee and tea and pastries throughout the day in the breakfast area. The breakfast itself is adequate although I wouldn't say a four star experience.

Our room was also quite small although well appointed with a fridge, safe, bathrobes, slippers etc. Our room looked out over the street leading to the square but was quiet. We were on the fourth floor and had small balcony style doors that didn't open fully. Our friends who were staying on the first floor had small balcony style doors that did open fully and allowed a better view of the street and the square. I would suggest that a first floor room is better.

I was disappointed with the storage facilities in the room because apart from a small wardrobe to hang clothes and a small shelf there were no ther draws or storage places for clothes. Also there was no bedside table or surface on which to put a phone or book.

The price for staying for a night seems to vary wildly from one night to another, presumably dependant on the occupancy. but even then a little bit more consistency with the pricing would be more acceptable.

I should finish by saying again that the staff, who mostly spoke good English, were helpful and polite and cheerful throughout our stay.

Our flight from the US to Toulouse didn't land until 11:30 pm, so I chose this hotel because it looked like it would be accustomed to late arrivals. I was right, and much more. The staff speaks English fluently; the hotel is squeaky clean; the service is efficient and friendly; the room was fully equipped and immaculate.

The location on the Capitol square is perfect: we opened the door to our balcony and heard the happy carousing of students about to enjoy their Easter break. Not too noisy, just wonderful. We had many cafes to choose from on the square as well as a daily market. Great for people watching.

Our favorite memory of the Grand Balcon is its breakfast spread. Incredible. Fruits, vegetables, meats, cheese, yogurts, breads, and an incredible display of pastries that changed every day. Of course, fresh baguettes.

The one drawback was that I couldn't make a firm internet connection with my computer from my room. I did not follow through by reporting it to the hotel. My phone was fine and I wasn't interested in wasting my time online when I could be in Toulouse.

This hotel couldn't be in a better location. Right at the corner of Place du Capitole, it puts everything within walking distance. It was easy to come back to the room mid-day for a break or to drop things off, My room was lovely and I really appreciated the soundproofing against outdoor noise. I wish they could do the same for people slamming doors inside the hotel. The front desk staff was so helpful; giving directions, helping to buy train tickets, making reservations, etc. A big shout out to Marine at the front desk who really made my stay so much easier. My only negative for this hotel was that housekeeping was a little lazy. They did the minimum like making the bed but didn't replace any used up products unless I asked the desk. I was there 5 days and couldn't get a robe. Not the worst thing but annoying. If you have mobility issues ask for a room without a tub because the tub was 2 feet tall and didn't have a grab bar so it was really hard to get in and out of. Also the make-up mirror was installed for someone 6 feet tall. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Toulouse.

Thank you to Ea, Sara and all the staff (I am sorry I cannot recall all your names) who were attentive to our needs, recommended restaurants we ended up loving, accommodating and professional. staff was very helpful with recommendations to restaurants and cocktail bars in the area. Rooms are well appointed and very sleek while still comfortable. Buffet breakfast was very good. staff arranged transportation to destinations including airport when needed.

Then I found out that the author of the "Little Prince" stayed there and that helped explain the aeronautical them of the decorations around the property.

Very enjoyable stay.

Excellent staff who went beyond what is normal to help out and provide directions and recommendations. When arriving at a hotel the welcome is important to get off to a good start.
As mentioned a little more attention to the room at not considerable cost would make for an easier stay.

Hotel has an amazing location and is perfect if you want to be in the middle of the city! The room was neat and very clean, however there were some old coffee stains on the carpet which slightly spoil the visual appeal of the room but definitely not a deal breaker. The L'Occitane products provided in the bathroom are a great touch to highlight the great regional products. Bed was comfortable. Service was great with staff willing to help.
