Detailed Reviews
I stayed here for 5 days in May and would recommend it to anyone who is visiting Toulouse. The Hotel building is maintained to a very high standard and the cleanliness is exceptional. The room was a good size, quiet and very clean. The breakfast is obviously continental (!) with scrambled eggs and toast also available. There is also an espresso machine in the room which came in very handy for a morning pick up! The staff were, without exception, excellent: very friendly, helpful and determined to help you get the best out of your trip to Toulouse. Nothing was too much trouble for Geraldine and her staff. The hotel is very well located: a 5 minute walk from Jeanne D'Arc bus stop and metro. When I arrived at the airport I took a 2 minute walk to the airport bus stop where a bus took me on a 20 min ride to Jeanne D'Arc bus stop. A further 5 minute walk to the Hotel and I was checked in and enjoying a beer within an hour of arrival! The centre of the town is a 15 minute stroll away and the sites, museums, shops, restaurants and bars of Toulouse blew me away! I asked for advice at the central tourist office and was soon enjoying the sites, sounds and delights of Toulouse. Do yourself a favour and take a trip to this wonderful city, and if you do, I would highly recommend the Hotel Mermoz! T

First impressions are a bit of a let down, as the Hotel is situated in a very ordinary, quite scruffy road and the outside looks more 2 star than 4 star. However, once through the electric gate, you come into a quite attractive courtyard and up some steps (a lift is available) to a pleasant reception area. Staff were really helpful throughout our 4 night stay.
As to the room, it was perfectly adequate in size, bed comfort was very good and we had the benefit of a free room safe, a fridge and air con. They provided some free drinks in the fridge on arrival, but these are not replenished. We didn’t get the free use of bath robes as advertised and whilst you get a coffee machine and a kettle, the coffee, tea, sugar and milk supplies are minimal to say the least and additional supplies are chargeable, so bring your own. WiFi is good.
Our room looked into the ‘well’ of the building that contained the swimming pool. This meant that sometimes you felt the need to close curtains if the pool was being used, but there are net curtains on the windows. We didn’t use the pool but it looked quite inviting - smallish but usable. Room was very clean.
We didn’t have breakfast included and chose not to buy separately as in our view, €16 p.p. was steep for continental breakfast.
Getting from the airport was easy. We caught the shuttle bus at €8 each but you can also get a tram. Leave Arrivals from Building C and cross the road. The bus stop is adjacent to the tram stop. Ask for Jeanne d’Arc (or the main bus station near the train station; not much in it either way). One of the best things about the hotel is the location relative to the City Centre and the bus/train station. Head right out of the hotel and it is an 8 min walk to the station. Head left and it is 6 mins to Jeanne d’Arc, where there is also a Metro station and a good entry point to all the City’s attractions. For our return to the Airport, we went to the main bus station, where buses run very 20 mins or so from stop no. 1. Journey takes about 25 mins. If you leave from Jeanne d’Arc, the stop is around the corner on Strasbourg Boulevard.
Any tourist map will highlight the touristy things to see, but also worth a visit is the Japanese Garden near the Compans Cattarelli Metro stop (which is easily walkable). All attractions are walkable from the hotel.
We went to Carcassonne by train for the day, which is well worth the effort. Train fares vary depending on demand but if you go, head up to the station the day before you travel to buy your tickets and the staff there are very helpful. It cost us about €20 p.p. return. When you get off the train, head down the Main Street, perpendicular to the station, past the main Square and take one of the subsequent left turns to find the TIC. They will give you a map and direct you to the old city. Again, easily walkable in about 20 mins from the TIC. Entry to the ancient City is free but you pay to go into the castle.
In summary, this hotel is ideal for most people. It isn’t luxurious but equally, we had a very comfortable stay. Staff were very helpful and location suited us perfectly. We loved the City, which wasn’t as chaotic as some others we have visited and the atmosphere was lovely. Good weather probably helped a lot. Drinks are quite expensive, a large beer averaging €7 but not unexpected for a City such as this.

What a great hotel, great location. The staff are very friendley. The little touches are nice. Free refreshments in the mini bar upon arrival, not replenished. The Nespresso machine, supplied with 2 pods everyday. A couple more each day would be better. The rooms are generous but the bathroom and toilet a little small. The bed was comfortable, had 4 goodnights sleep. There's a pool and fitness centre but I didn't use these facilities, the reviews I read said the pool was on small size but I couldn't comment. There's an option of breakfast, but at 14€ I think that's too pricey, much rather eat out. The cafe Le Parisian is at the bottom of the street, more choice and cheaper. Would I use this hotel again, hell yes.

Dear DONNYDAVE, I am happy to know that you enjoy our location next to the city centre (a fews minutes by walk) and next to the trainstation Matabiau. Our room is with a bath, a hairdryer and our bathroom products from a high quality brand ( NUXE). I noticed that you enjoyed our welcome free drinks in the mini-bar and our Nespresso machine, our bed offers a high quality of sleep to make your night great. Our buffet breakfast provides a hot and cold buffet and homemade products like yogurt, cake or fresh orange juice. It cost 16.50€ because it is done with high quality products. I will be pleased to see you again. TAULAN jean-Christophe Front desk manager

We were lucky enough to stay in Toulouse in late October this year whilst the sun was still shining. The Hotel Mermoz is hidden down a wide alley and beyond gates just off a busy road. Once you get inside the hotel it is as quiet as being in the middle of the countryside. The staff greeted us with a warm welcome and were extremely helpful, especially as we had forgotten some toiletries which they gave us free of charge. The room was modern, well decorated and comfortable, with plenty of hanging space. There was a mini bar and a coffee machine and a flat screen TV. The bath was smaller than those in the UK but still big enough to lay back, with a shower overhead. Dressing gowns and slippers were provided. We stayed for 3 nights and the room was cleaned promptly each day with a personal note introducing the housekeeper. We didn't opt for breakfast included as we wanted to take advantage of the numerous pastiseries that are in Toulouse. This hotel actually offered more than some hotels we have stayed at that have been double the price so we would definitely recommend.
Most places of interest were within a reasonable walking distance but a bus tour is recommended. The train station is a 10 minute walk away.

We stayed for 1 night to catch an early train. The room and bed was extremely comfortable and veey quiet. Wifi excellent reception. Breakfast sumptuous. It was a 15 min walk pushing luggage to the station, so allow enough time to do that. It was a bit slow for us as we had a lot. Would highly recommend this place

A great location with only a 10 minute walk to the main square yet plenty of restaurants on the doorstep.
Our room was comfortable and spacious and the free mini bar was a welcome touch after our long drive to Toulouse.
Parking was easy within the hotel and we were offered a free late check out although we politely declined as had to pick up friends at the airport before driving on to Carcassonne.
A great hotel, great staff and would recommend a stay here.

I reserved 2 nights through Booking.com at Mermoz hotel. After a couple of days I sent an e-mail to the hotel as I wanted to check if it’d be possible to book an extra night. Funnily enough, the hotel never replied, so after some days of waiting I contacted booking.com that kindly helped me with my request.
The hotel is extremely overrated. It’s nowhere near 4 stars! The entrance, gate and reception look promising but the corridors upstairs, elevator and rooms are between 2 (toilet) and (bedroom, bathroom) 3 stars. Unfortunately, the door wasn’t very clean. The windows were extremely dirty, the iPod station looked like it has never been cleaned, in the bathtub we found hair of the previous guest!! The carpets are also dirty... Don’t advertise as a 4 star hotel because then your guests are simply let down!
We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel because for the same price you can have a very good breakfast in cafes in the city center.
However, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the reception staff - especially Miles - were friendly.
In the mini bar you get a bottle of water, a can of coke and redbull and a small packet of crisps “for free”, but you’ve already paid that by paying roughly 99€ per night...
The hotel should definitely lose one star so customers like us won’t be disappointed...
Also, it would be worth mentioning on the booking pages that the hotel has a gym.

Small hotel with friendly staff, clean hotel & cozy set-up. Love the small chic lounge area. Very small tiny pool available next to the mini breakfast area that can hold appx 20 pax at one time. Plenty of places to eat & choose from across the street. Carpark available.

We loved this 13 room hotel tucked away off a street near to station in a 'developing area' , which is only 5 minutes from the city centres. Staff were great who could not do enough for us and the rooms were a good size. Only food offered is a good breakfast but lots of restaurants close by. Only short coming was some noise from other rooms but nothing too serious

For a stay of a few days this hotel has a good location to experience en discover the city centre. At the end of the day a cooldown can be taken in the small but refreshing pool.
As theme in the hotel is the history of the French pilot Mermoz.
Educative and nicely incorporated.
Parking is possible below the hotel.
Friendly personnel and a substantial more than average breakfast makes this hotel another visit worthy.

For breakfast I'd recommend Le Parisien. For lunch our dinner, if you like Italian, I'd recommend Le Carpaccio. It's not a massive menu, but we used it 3 days and everything was cooked well. And in the evening I'd highly recommend, especially at the weekend, Le Glou Café. They do exceptional cocktails and tapas dishes are available... great music too.
All the staff are extremely friendly and they're at the bottom of the street from Privilège Hôtel Mermoz****.
There is other bars and restaurants in the local vicinity.
