We stayed 2 nights here in October: 1 before our weekend in Andorra and 1 afterwards. I booked a rate with breakfast for the Thursday night stay and used points for the Monday night stay. It was much better arrival than 2 years ago. I was welcomed and warmly received by a very friendly gentleman. We were given a great suite, Room #341 with comfortable bed, nice seating area with 2 chairs, small sofa, and large table plus more like desk, coffee station w fridge below, great view in distance of square, lovely bathroom w bidet, toilet, sink area, and great tub with lots of pressure. Last time, we received a slight upgrade with a better view of the square but not much more. At check-out the first time, we were told that the same room would be saved for us for 3 nights later, and it was!
Breakfast, if booked separately, is 22€ and not worth it after what we received at other hotels on this stay. I did have a decent omelet, but the buffet options were few and far between with very small plates. I wasn't impressed! We skipped breakfast on the 2nd stay.
Hotel was great, and our room was at the other end of the 3rd floor and very quiet even with the people passing by below. Many thanks to the guy who welcomed us the first time and made sure all was good and gave us the same room on our return. When we returned from Andorra, I asked a lady at the front desk, who checked us in on Monday, if they could mail my pre-stamped postcards since I couldn't find a public mailbox in Toulouse even though we walked to/from train station and more? My cards were received by many so they took care of me there. The bus to/from Andorra from Toulouse is great-hard to get Andorra otherwise without car! It leaves from a station attached to the main train station. We ate at Le Colombier both nights in Toulouse; it is located between train station and hotel and is an easy walk. Highly recommended. They also have closed their pitiful executive lounge since our 1st stay. Read my review if you want to see why it was so bad! Based on this stay, I would definitely stay here on return but would skip breakfast unless it was better and not much more to add to reservation. Glad I returned so I could erase away the bad memories from September 2019!

Loved this hotel right on the main plaza in the city. The plaza is alive and vibrant late into the evening on most nights, with many restaurants and opportunities to people watch. Our room facing the square was very clean and comfortable, with quiet air conditioning (we stayed in July 2019) and had all the amenities we needed. The staff was very helpful at all times. We truly enjoyed our stay, and again, the location of the hotel is the best in Toulouse. I hope to return!

From the moment we walked around the corner and saw it’s location on the square, we new it was perfect! Walk out the door and absolutely everything is within walking distance.
Staff could not do enough to greet us, our room (although not the best outlook) was incredibly clean, well equipped, quiet and so comfortable.
Choice at breakfast was one of the best I’ve very had in a hotel, although speed to replenish dishes was not always great on one day. On New Year’s Day the kitchen opened for breakfast until 2.30pm!!! They knew we were Scottish!
Couldn’t fault our stay- thank you!

Stayed for a long weekend with my husband for our anniversary . The first impressions were very nice , friendly and efficient check in staff. On arriving in our room we were very disappointed , the furnishings were very lack lustre verging on dowdy. There was a leatherette chair which quite frankly my local charity shop would have refused to take. There were only 2 small towels , no hand towels and no milk or creamer for a drink. The breakfasts were a little chaotic , a very small dining area was serviced by too few staff who didn’t seem to know whether they were coming of going . Coffee didn’t arrive the first morning , the second morning it arrived with no milk and we had to pour the excess milk from my husbands cornflakes . Having said that the staff were very friendly from the maids to the reception staff if a bit thin on the ground . Very disappointed on the whole and would only recommend for its location in the city .

Hi E9518UXangelaa, I am glad you were pleased with our hospitable staff service, and thank you for looping us into your concern about the furnishings, limited room/bathroom amenities, and the breakfast service. What you described certainly is not the kind of experience we want any of our guests to have. I am sorry to miss out on this area. I've communicated your sentiments with our management team for review and I've also sent you a private message to discuss this further. I hope to get another chance to host your next visit as we promise to make the value of your experience worth it for all the right reasons. Yours in hospitality, Jeraldine R. Case Manager IHG Service

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Plaza Hotel ideally located! The location of the hotel allowed us to easily discover everything we wanted to see, and despite its central side, it remained a real haven of peace. For a hotel of this category, the style was surprisingly modern and fresh, with a warm atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home.
Our room was furnished with care, mixing comfort and elegance in a charming way. It was spotlessly clean, and the bedding was of such quality that we felt like we were sleeping on a cloud – the bed itself was incredibly comfortable! Breakfast every morning offered a pleasant choice, perfect for a good start to the day.
The staff was another highlight of our stay: attentive, warm and going above and beyond our expectations to ensure we didn't miss anything, always taking the time to check we were comfortable and satisfied. Their kindness and hospitality really made the experience memorable. We are already looking forward to returning and recommend this place without hesitation to anyone looking for a pleasant stay!

We visited Toulouse for a couple of days and wanted to stay in a hotel close to the city center. In fact, we have chosen this hotel as it is just off Place Capitole and there is a 7/24 parking close by, in walking distance, at Pace Capitole.
The staff was very friendly, gave us a patio room on the fourth floor, which therefore was very quiet. The breakfast was very good, and portions of the food were prepared, which was great given the Covid-19 situation.

As the picture shows, this is an IHG hotel in an architecturally lovely building on one corner of Place du Capitole, the main square in Toulouse which also houses the Town Hall, many bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. The staff are very friendly and polite and always wishing to help whether at Reception, the Bar or on Housekeeping duty. The bedrooms ( we had 536 ) which had 2 double beds, tv, fridge with daily water, tea / coffee station, a very comfortable armchair, desk and office chair. The bathroom was standard and met expectations. Housekeeping was excellent. The lounge / bar area was rather quaint but adequate and a fitness room was in the basement ( we did not use ). Breakfast was also downstairs and consisted of a hot / cold buffet style with a selection of cereals, fruit/ breads
/pastries etc. Egg options available on request. Similar every day but more than adequate. Top Tip - if travelling from the airport, take the Tram ( T1 ) to Arenes and then transfer to the Metro to Capitole and then a short 5 minute walk to Place du Capitole and the hotel ( ticket 1.70 euros ...taxi 25 euros ! ) The hotel is also near all the main attractions with the main railway station about 20 mins away via Joan of Arc Square. Finally, the FREE electric minibus passes through the Square every 15 mins. Wave it down to stop and then enjoy a gratis tour of Toulouse to get your bearings. It will even stop just outside the hotel. Enjoy.

Amazing location but old hotel. Antiquated structure, spacious but old rooms with the bathroom in need of modernization. Good but not great breakfast with friendly staff. It is inconceivable that in a 4 star hotel they don't have umbrellas for customers. We asked for them for three days at different stages, getting the same negative response. In general there seems to be some confusion. For example, the ununiformed cleaning staff on the ground floor cleans in broad daylight with guests passing by. The rooms, after cleaning, never have a good clean smell, even if they are done well.

Stayed for one night with my wife. The hotel has a great location in the centre of Toulouse, which is convenient for visiting the main attractions, shops and restaurants, and it is good value for money. We did not try the breakfast. Would recommend for short visits to the city.

Our experience at this hotel was so disappointing. The rooms were clean but are dated and the staff looked like they were just going through the motions. Usually there was only one person on reception so wait times just to talk to someone was so long we gave up - more than once. Breakfast was okay but if you miss-timed your visit to the buffet items would be missing (eg no eggs or bacon in the bain maries). None of the staff smiled or were welcoming and so the vibe of the place from the outset was not good. Whilst the location is great, the rooms are expensive and over-priced for what they are and the level of service provided.

I have stayed there twice with Club access and it is not worth it. A very small and unfriendly room. Better to spend your money by dining out!
It's not worth it - trust me!
I don’t think so but if you get the tram from right outside arrivals at the airport. Go to ‘Arenes’ get off there and take the metro to ‘capitole’ and then walk towards the ‘place du capitole’ which is about 2 minutes , the hotel is in one corner of the square. If you can do the journey within 1 hour which is fine then a single ticket is all you need. The public transport infrastructure in Toulouse is excellent. Have a great break. The gilets Jaunes are still protesting every Saturday. This happens from about 2-3 pm until 9pm so best to avoid the protests if possible.
