Detailed Reviews
Having had a great overnight stay here in 2019 we decided to choose it again as our stop off during our summer holiday this year.
The hotel definitely did not disappoint. We were again able to use the secure underground parking, the children enjoyed a lovely swim in the pool to cool off after a long day driving (pool towels provided). The pool area is conveniently place with an out door bar seating area so we were able to enjoy a drink while still watching the children.
There is a good choice of drinks and the restaurant menu was also good.
The room was perfect for an overnight stay with a clean decent bathroom and nice toiletry products provided.
Our only disappointment was regarding the booking process and therefore Accor it's self not the actual hotel.
My accor loyalty scheme offered a half board package which as we knew we would want to eat at the hotel we thought would be good to go with. Unfortunately it was not at all clear that the children's meal were not included and that our choices were also limited from the full menu.
In the end I think we might have actually paid more taking half board than if we'd just booked bed and breakfast and paid for our meals!
Staff were very courteous and pleasant about it but Accor need to sort this out!

I took my young children to the hotel so we could explore Toulouse for three days and it worked very well for us. If I was going on a romantic trip, this would not be my choice though...
The rooms are plain, clinical with no style but served the purpose. I did have to ask three times for a child’s bed to be made up though. The corridors are also very grey, dated and depressing!
Staff were mostly really friendly but in the evening the service for drinks was quite slow and disorganised. The food was very good with many options for meat eaters and veggies alike. Breakfast was also tasty with plenty of choice.
The pool is great for kids and adults alike although slave to sit around it is very limited.
The location is great to explore Toulouse (12 mins to Capitole). The Japanese garden at the back of the hotel is also lovely. I would go here again with kids but not if I was looking for a high end break with partner.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night stay here. We were pleasantly surprised with the location of this hotel with it being situated practically on top of a lovely Japanese inspired garden which hoped to visit anyway without realising we were a 1 minute walk away! The lobby was well themed with faux plants to seem rather tropical and less boring. Furthermore we enjoyed the pool table however the balls and queues were a bit delapidated so definitely need renewing. I enjoyed the pool however the rest of the family found it a little bit cold so if you are not used to cooler waters then you might want to avoid the pool. I really enjoyed the breakfast however a staff member was a little bit rude and impatient when asked whether there was new food coming out. It is also fairly near to the city centre and some places to eat like a McDonald's and a few restaurants. The room was similar to other Novotels so not very big but quite clean and with a fairly large TV. Once again there was not a lock on the toilet room which I'm not a fan of but perhaps it is normal in France.

I selected this hotel based on a quick look at the reviews. And it was a big mistake. I should have read the reviews more carefully.
The welcome was warm; the staff was friendly. I appreciate the hotel team's work, honestly trying to make the guests feel comfortable.
But the first shock was when entering the lift, going to the soviet-style corridor and the room with a wall material from East Germany, it looks like. This hotel needs some major upgrades – now, only the furniture has been upgraded. These rooms are under any standard.
There is the 1960's style separate toilet with the need to walk behind the corner to wash your hands—no need to mention the lack of a bidet shower or any other extra comfort.
The breakfast restaurant terrace is quite OK. But the breakfast itself is below average. You can't find any vegetables, juice or other drinks but coffee. You'll only find Comte cheese slices for bread, but nothing else. There's room for improvement.
The room was not adequately cleaned. I could find some items belonging to previous guests.
In the evening, there was a rave party outside of the hotel. It was part of the annual festival organised by the city, but the hotel didn't want to mention it in advance. On my first call from the room, they didn't want to do anything to fix the situation. Hell of noise until 01.00 promised without a chance to change the room.
Later the reception called to offer another room, but it was too late for me to move (and I had not packed all my stuff and didn't want to do it at that time of the night). However, I changed my mind and went to see the other room with all my stuff packed. The noise was awful also there.
The staff at the reception tried to call other hotels, but we couldn't get a room. They proposed another Novotel, but this was my last stay at any Novotel, at least for a while. So, I returned to the same room and completed this review under the terrible noise.

Response from Lionel Bouchand, Directeur général at Novotel Toulouse Centre Compans Caffarelli
Responded 29 Jun 2022
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions following your stay, We are sorry to read that the recent renovations to our rooms did not meet your expectations, We have taken note of your comment regarding the cleanliness of your room. We have taken note of your comment concerning the cleanliness of your room and have made a point of contacting the floor staff to ensure that this situation does not recur. Concerning the breakfast offer, it is true that in France, vegetables are not eaten much at breakfast, that is why there is none on our buffet. However, from September onwards, our offer will be expanded and you will be able to find a salad bar. We also offer a range of fresh fruit. We also have a selection of fruit juices (orange and apple) and flavoured water. In France, 21 June is the national date of the "Fête de la Musique". However, this is the first year that a concert has taken place near our hotel. Unfortunately, we were not informed. We would like to apologise once again for the inconvenience caused by this event. Our entire team has tried to find the best solution for your request. We are sorry that none of the proposed solutions met your expectations, Sincerely, Lionel Bouchand

Lots of reviews said staff are rude at Gourmetbar at Novotel Toulouse, but we still gave it 2 chances. Yet, the rudeness we encountered were appalling. Staff made us feel as if we were meal scavengers and the fact that we spoke French to them only made them felt more arrogant, as we only spoke that as our second language. We noted them being rude to clients who do not speak French too.
When we were there, we were made to wait for everything that we needed and the overall rudeness we were subjected to is a disgrace. We told the reception that the attitude displayed at their restaurant was bad, but if Accor group allowed that to persist, may be they simply don't care.
In all honesty, the entire restaurant crew need to be well grounded to understand that they are there to provide a service instead of sneering and looking down on their guests.
France is a beatiful country with beautiful people, where staff at Gourmetbar should exercise restraint and discipline in not spoling the goodwill
of Accor group and in particular not spoiling the goodwill of France and its people.
Accor group management who cares to read this is reminded yo stop ignoring complaints at Gourmetbar and really revamp the attitude displayed by the staff there and end the rudeness and disgrace!

Well located hotel in Toulouse but we got very little sleep for the first two nights in our balcony room on the 1st floor as there were loud jarring and grating noises presumably coming up from the kitchen most of the night and from very early in the morning. We complained but were told we couldn’t move as the hotel was full, which it manifestly wasn’t. Finally got a room change for our 3rd night and the rest of our stay but no apology and no refund.
The reception staff were polite and charming but I think the hotel management needs to be reminded that people stay in their hotels primarily to sleep.

Such a lovely friendly Hotel , the staff just couldn't be nicer. I was visiting with my daughter watching the Samoa v Japan Rugby game and the facilities were fantastic - felt like home and relaxes with the little touches in the entrance area of hotel , games , fitness , video game , table tenis. When I go back to Toulouse, I will definitely be staying here. Thanks from Chris and Elsie

More work to do to warm the atmosphere of the lobby and the rooms.
I could not control the room temperature. The area is quiet and don't expect to find shops or restaurants around although you are in the city center.
I was unfortunate to have my room window giving on a wall.

I had a very quiet and clean room but the smell was not pleasant.
I found the source quickly and I also reported it during my check from the Hotel.
It’s probably structural issues but if you remove all the dirt from the drainage gutters then water should be able to drain. As a long-term solution Will have to involve a different drainage system. The whole complex needs better maintenance. I did love the park the hotel was attached to. Very peaceful and quiet. The location was great close to business exhibition grounds. The staff was very friendly and very helpful.

We stayed at this hotel for a week as a family of three and really enjoyed our stay. The room was perfect and we loved the swimming pool. The staff in the bar are really friendly and welcoming. We have to say that the food was beautiful. Only thing is the price is a little bit pricey for food and drink but sure that’s life.

Hello,
The easiest way to get to the hotel from the airport is to take the airport public shuttle which goes from the airport and drops you at Compans Caffarelli stop, 5 minutes walk form the hotel. It is only a 20 minutes journey.
The shuttle costs 8€ and 15 return.
Sincerely,
Lionel Bouchand
Directeur Général
Bonjour, yes restaurant is open every evening..Best regards
Buon soggiorno
Bonjour Clémence OR,
Merci de m'avoir contacté pour poser votre question. La piscine est accessible aux clients de l'hôtel mais pas aux personnes venant au restaurant par soucis de sécurité.
A très bientôt,
Belle journée à vous,
Lionel Bouchand,
Directeur Général
