Mama Shelter Toulouse is much more than just a hotel, it is a shelter open to everyone, from students to technologists. Designed by Thierry Gaugain, Mama Toulouse counts 120 rooms, each made cozy with different comforts, such as 5-star bedding for king-size beds, yet kept modern with connected TVs and high speed wifi. Stop by the restaurant for a delicious BBQ dinner from our Argentinian grill or enjoy a cocktail out on the terrace. The 156m² rooftop is also a must if you crave a fresh pizza! This hotel also has three rooms dedicated to meetings, with a large terrace, as well as a Cinemama for screenings and presentations. The bank card made to guarantee the booking or make the prepayment will be required upon check-in.

Detailed Reviews
I recently organized a seminar at the Toulouse Mama Shelter and everything was perfect! From the pre-visit, to the set up, to the meetings, meals and rooms.... the staff was friendly and helpful and everything was perfectly coordinated. We were looked after during the day by Morgane... organized and resourceful, she was a terrific help and even printed off last minute copies of a doc that I needed to hand out. In the evenings, Clarisse and her staff looked after our guests and everyone was quite happy with the location, rooms and meals. I would not hesitate to organize another seminar with them!

I think my room was smaller than most of the rooms because part of it was taken up by a staff elevator. So the part that the bed was in, was really like a tiny cupboard or a box. The red lighting gives it a garish atmosphere but luckily you can turn that red glare off!
It's very practical, very clean, and my only comment would be that I think I got unlucky with this particularly small room.
Wi-Fi, TV, charging your devices, all that works perfectly.
Bed very comfortable, breakfast delicious, music not too loud, and even boomers are welcome.

Lunched there today with old friends visiting from London (5 of us in total)
Reasonable food in an interesting environment.
Great toilets.
However the highlight of the visit was the excellent service from Elièn who is very attentive to client needs, bilingual English/French and made the meal a memorable experience.
If you go make sure to get on one of Eléan's tables

We were really excited to stay here as the hotel and restaurant both looked really fun and exciting, especially for the kids. So we were very disappointed by the reception we got when we arrived. We arrived an hour before check in extremely hot and tired. We had travelled to Toulouse on a very crowded train, standing the whole way, and temperatures were around 35 degrees (in the shade) so by the time we’d walked to the hotel with all our luggage we were looking forward to sitting down and getting a drink!
As our room wasn’t yet ready we asked if we could sit in the restaurant and have a drink and were told by the staff there, in very unfriendly tones, that there were no tables available for us as it was the second sitting on a Sunday lunchtime. This was clearly not the case as we could see a large amount of empty tables both inside and outside on the terrace under shade. There was nowhere in the hotel lobby for us to sit. It was too hot for us to venture out again, and we didn’t know where to go, so I pressed to sit somewhere inside and said we’d only need the table until our room was ready. One of the members of staff then took us to a table that was out on the terrace and in direct midday sunlight - when there were so many other available seats inside and under shelter!! I pressed again to sit in the shade (my children were overheating by this point) and again got told in a very condescending manner that this wouldn’t be possible. The whole thing was ridiculous. I don’t understand when paying to stay at a hotel why we wouldn’t be allowed to sit at some empty tables in the shade / inside in order to buy some drinks while waiting for our room to be ready on one of the hottest days of the year.
Eventually, and begrudgingly, we were offered a table right next to where people were queuing for the buffet. Maybe I would have understood the pompous attitude about not allowing us to sit down if they really had been full. But throughout the time we were there and waiting all of the other, more comfortable tables, (at least 10 of them) remained empty.
I was so upset about how we’d been treated as we had all been very excited about staying here and don’t often splash out on hotels. And we were treated by the restaurant staff like second class citizens.
It was a real shame as I think if we’d just been shown a bit of professional hospitality our experience here would have been completely different. But the staff at the restaurant were rude and stuck up with a superiority complex.
The staff on reception were lovely and helpful, the beds were very comfy and the breakfast was delicious. So if you can avoid those staff then I imagine you would probably have a lovely time here!

My wife and I enjoyed a short stay at this hotel a year ago, so when we returned to Toulouse we naturally booked again. Unfortunately, the second visit was disappointing in a lot of ways.
The rooms are funky and cool, but they don't actually function that well for a multi-day trip - no closets or drawers, just some small shelves and a rail for hangars. Having a chair in the room would be really nice, too!
The staff seemed extremely disengaged, as opposed to the friendliness of the first visit - the notable exception was the gentleman in the restaurant at breakfast, who was charming.
The restaurant and bar were the biggest issue. Bartenders seemed unfamiliar with making drinks - common cocktails were completely wrong. Menu items were frequently unavailable - "No, you can't get the cheese, we only do desserts now." Tried to get pizza one day for lunch - "Pizzeria" is written on the front door, there is pizza in the menu online or via QR code, there's a picture of a pizza on the web site - "No, we don't serve pizza!" Wanted a drink in the bar one afternoon, and the few tables dedicated for the bar were occupied (large round tables, three with one person on a computer each) - they wouldn't let us sit at any of the other 25 unoccupied tables because those were for food only. I will say the breakfast buffet is very good, though.
Housekeeping also a bit spotty - rooms were clean enough, but coffee/water/toilet paper replenishment were erratic - and if you needed something they had forgotten, you had to go to the front desk for it, no-one was bringing it to the room for you.
All in all, we're sorry we didn't investigate other hotels, and would not stay at a Mama Shelter again.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay at Mama Shelter Toulouse. We are truly sorry to hear that your return visit did not meet your expectations, especially after such a positive experience the first time. We appreciate your comments about the room design. While we strive to create a unique and vibrant atmosphere, we understand that practicality is essential for longer stays. Your suggestion about adding more storage and seating options is noted, and we will review how we can improve in this area. We are also deeply disappointed to learn that our staff service did not live up to the friendly and engaging experience you previously enjoyed. We will ensure this feedback is shared with the team to address these inconsistencies and reinforce the high level of service we aim to provide. Regarding the issues in the restaurant and bar, we sincerely apologize for the confusion and the inconvenience caused. We understand how frustrating it must have been to encounter miscommunications around the menu and seating. We are reviewing these processes to ensure a more seamless experience for our guests in the future. Your comments about housekeeping are also well taken. We agree that basic amenities should be restocked consistently, and we apologize for the lapses you experienced. It’s reassuring to hear that you enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the charming service in the restaurant, but we deeply regret that these positives did not outweigh the overall disappointment of your stay. We value your feedback as it helps us grow and improve. While we understand your hesitation to return, we hope you might consider giving us another chance to provide the quality experience you expect and deserve. Mama ❤️ You

Great great Hotel! Super stylish, people are super attentive and careful with your wishes, amazing rooftop with nice ambiance. Dinner In the restaurant with good food, good wine cart, great vibe, we were served by Thomas, the nicest server we’ve ever had, extremely cautious with our needs and a sympathy hard to find nowadays. Next time we’re in Toulouse we’ll for sure stay here again.

I visited a friend who had rented a room at the mama shelter a couple of times over last weekend ! It made me want to book a room and stay over all summer long.
I joined him first for a drink on the rooftop. The staff was so warm and chilled always happy to help! The staff at the entrance welcomed us with a big smile. As for the mixologists, waitresses and manager at the bar, they were absolutely perfect. Recommending the best tapas of the menu, crafting a special drink for my friend after carefully listening to his preferences!
The next day, I went again for breakfast and had the chance to get a glimpse of the breakfast buffet ! It really looked tasty with tons of salty and sweet options as well as a large selection of hot and cold beverages.
If you get the chance, try to stay over at the Mama, were it only for a night !
And let me know ;)

Every time I visit Toulouse, this place cannot be missed. From the greeting on entrance, to the upbeat vibes in the restaurant, to the amazing selection of food, and not forgetting the wine glass collector who balances 20 wine glasses on one arm at the same time…. This place has if all! …the Côte de boeuf is a great choice!
What a place!

I stayed at a hotel in Toulouse centre, close to all the main attractions and the Jean Jaures metro station. The lobby had a modern and hipster vibe which included two arcade machines for visitors. The rooftop bar was nice, but the city view wasn't that great.
The part I didn't like was the design and layout of the bedroom. When you walk in, you're greeted by a completely red room, and the masks on the bedside lamps with the red lights made me feel uncomfortable. They went for a modern look, but it made the room feel cramped, and there was no space for coffee and tea services.
The restaurant was popular with locals and visitors, but it can get noisy if a party is booked there. They sold some excellent party food, but the party can be disruptive if you're trying to sleep in the room above.
Highly recommend it for couples but less so for businesses and families.

Location is good, room adequate, but no frills. Drink the lonely single bottle of water in the mini bar and remain parched for the rest of the week, it won’t be replaced. The breakfast room bustles with self important staff rushing back and forth, where to? No idea, the coffee’s cold, the eggs? a bowl of slop, bacon had ran out, as had the beans. It’s France so they had baguette and that’s about it. Couldn’t find a spoon, or an egg cup, and struggled to locate a plate.
Food, awful. Service, chaotic. But, bed was ok…
