The hotel was clean and comfortable. The shower was hot, breakfast was good. The best part of our experience was the friendliness and helpfulness of our hosts. They helped us arrange a taxi to to the caves and then helped when we had a problem with the taxi. The bike parking is secure and they have a floor pump

This hotel was a wonderful find! We did not prebook as we were not planning to spend so long in the area but as there was so much to do we stayed for 2 extra days.

Our Sat nav directed us to the hotel and we were pleasantly suprised at how nice the hotel was, inside was a little dated but in a true french B&B style. The place was faultlessly clean and tidy for the price we paid for our room and breakfast you cant go wrong. We even stayed an extra day due the location it is right on the door step of all the sights in the area. The village is small but had a few lovely resturants. We ate in one across the road and for the price of the menu the food was fabulous.

The staff were very helpful and full of information of where to go and which places need a reservation and which ones dont. There was even a voucher given to us that reduced the price of the entrance fees.

The room was large and the bathroom had a bath and very good water pressure so had a lovely shower the next day. It was quiet dispite being fully booked and we were able to park our car in the carpark behind.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. For the price and the location you cant go wrong.

The best place we stayed on our tour of south west france!!!!

Booked this last minute as we had confused our dates and got to the region a day early! What a lovely place to stay, right in the centre by the river. Beautiful scenery around. Had a lovely and comfortable room with a great view of the river. Free WiFi and parking. And the staff were friendly and spoke English. A good place to stay to explore the region. Would definitely recommend.

Warm welcome ( My French is not too good but the manager spoke fluent Spanish so ...sorted )
The rooms are though dated ,well equipped , Wi-Fi was good and the view (from My room ) was lovely .
Sadly there is no restaurant on site , and Les Bellevue where I was directed to ( for the 1/2 pension ) was just OK . Breakfast is on site and good.
If staying make sure you visit the old town ( 3 mins walk ) . Views from the Tower are superb.
The disabled room ( ground floor ) was nice even though the window is onto the patio , though not a problem when we were there but, Summer ?
Parking was next to the patio.

We needed a hotel for one night to visit the caves at Niaux and explore the area. This place was perfect for us as we were looking for an affordable and clean place with breakfast. We knew there would be no elevator, no air conditioning, and no amenities other than the room and morning meal. We were pleasantly surprised that they had a small parking area in the back, as we were expecting that we would have to find street parking.

Our room was up two flights of stairs. It had a window looking out over the river. The bathroom was small, but adequate. The floor boards were warped and the wallpaper had seen better days, but it was clean and all we needed. Other than sleep and a quick shower we spent no other time in the room.

The host was very helpful. His English was much better than our French and he told us about a wonderful restaurant a half block away. The next day he gave us directions and we were on our way. We found all the people in Tarascon-sur-Ariege extremely helpful. We couldn't find the hotel when we first came into town (take a HARD right immediately after crossing the river and I mean immediately) and a very nice young couple who were in front of a grocery store drew a map on a napkin and spoke slowly and patiently until they were sure I understood. Two locals saw us looking at the restaurant menu, assured us in French it was the right place to eat (great food and beautiful view), and then shared with us a bottle of their wine that they thought we should try (oh la la).

This hotel is in an excellent location for exploring the region. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the rooms, were clean and pleasantly old fashioned as well as being spacious. (We had a family of 5 in one room without feeling too claustrophobic.)

The hotel is right in the middle of town, next to the river and up against the ancient streets and ideal for exploring them.

The staff were really friendly and the room was comfortable - sorry that we only stayed for one night.

The car parking is tight - but if you have been driving around this part of France for a while you will be used to narrow streets.

The Hotel Confort is charming as is the town, great location, beds comfortable, quiet. Our room overlooked a lovely courtyard, friends' room overlooked the river. The location was terrific for our tour of the nearby cave with 13,000 year old paintings. The proprietor was welcoming, personable, good suggestions for restaurants, local prehistoric park. The croissants at the included breakfast were the best we had on our trip - even better than the ones we bought at a patisserie

We stayed at this hotel for one night in advance of our visit to Grotte Niaux. Prior to booking, I could only find reviews from cyclists and hikers, not simply tourists. We usually stay in 4 star hotels.

The hotel is clean with a happy atmosphere. The rooms are of adequate size and the breakfast was wonderful. There are stairs up to the double rooms, but we were helped up with luggage and I am sure they would have gladly helped us down had we asked. There is parking. And, the town provided a great evening walk around.

We travel with 20" suitcases and rent compact cars so we can do charming hotels like the Hotel Confort.

The service was warm and friendly, the room clean, the bed comfy and there was lots of nice hot water for a shower. Buffet breakfast very good, with lots of choice. This is a charming 2 star hotel in a great location to explore the land of the Cathars (eg Foix and its Castle and Montségur). We were only passing through, but will stay longer next time and definitely and this little hotel.
