This July, my family and I were fortunate enough to visit the Renaissance Hotel, in Castres. Throughout our stay, Raphael and Michelle went out of their way to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. From parking our car and unloading our luggage upon arrival, making a dinner reservation, to a surprise Harry Potter room, whose detailed decoration was fantastic (including its very own sorting hat) and practically oozed magic, our welcome was warm indeed. The hotel is charming and full of character: its delightful ivy-adorned terrace and unique decorations and style create an atmosphere unlike any other, with enchantment and mystery around every corner! If you are planning to visit Castres, I could not recommend the Renaissance Hotel, Raphael and Michelle, enough. You will - without doubt - have a very pleasant stay. Enjoy!

Experienced travelers, we were tired of staying in impersonal cookie-cutter complexes'. A little gem located in the heart of the city, in a very chic and peaceful area, and a stone's throw from all restaurants, shops, historic attractions, parks and markets, wonderful!  The decor was rich in color and detail, the rooms were very large and well decorated; actually all in good taste. We stayed inside a rainy evening and we really felt at home. The little touches, for example, pillow cases and bath towels with monograms which we remembered from the El Palace hotel in Barcelona but on a smaller scale were superb. We noticed that the team had a pride and enthusiasm because of their environment and always charming and attentive. We did eat a very satisfying breakfast because the products were varied, plentiful, fresh and appetizing. We will now want to schedule visits to the region with this hotel as our base of operations. Generally we don't give an "excellent" or perfect marks, But this time, we broke all our standards.   Ask for a little tour of the interior, it's fascinating.

Large room with antique Chinese fittings. Very comfy bed. Generous Continental breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful eg valet parking, restaurant recommendations etc. The hotel itself is a historic building in the old quarter, 5 minutes from sites, shops and restaurants, 15 minutes from the train station. A great find.
