A great location, just on the edge of the old town, next to bus stops if using public transport (although a 10/15 minute walk to tthe main bus and train station) and surrounded by places to eat and drink. The basic room lacked a kettle or fridge; the more upmarket room had both but even though larger wasn't as nice (we stayed twice), up to you to decide if the extra cost is worth it. Very friendly reception staff but the front desk not always manned. Didn't bother with the breakfast so can't comment. The whole place has a slight feel of faded grandeur which either gives it a certain charm or in need of a referb depending on your point of view; personally I liked it
The manager was great, room was mediocre, breakfast OK, nothing special. The best part of it all was the location, 50 mts from the centre and the room was overlooking the canal. There are plenty of place to eat, I found a great Irish bar serving really good Guinness, with a great atmosphere. I arrived on my motorbike and was immediately offered garaging free of charge and before I left to go out to eat in the evening, was invited to have an aperitif with the manager. An 18 year old single malt whisky set me up fine, but has not influenced the review. I will visit Perpignan again, the next time with my wife but find a better hotel for the both of us, OK for me alone, but!
At £75/night for a room for 3, this is a budget hotel. It's right in the centre, by the old city and overlooking the canal and Galeries Lafayette. The staff are on duty until 10am and then 4-8pm and are very helpful. A traditional marble staircase wraps around the lift cage to the three floors. Our room, at the end of the top floor, looked over the street but was mostly quiet. Beds were comfortable. Simple furnishing; a dresser and a drawer unit, plus bedside tables; a small fridge (which we didn't use) and heating/cooling from a responsive Aircon unit. Bit on the dim side after dark. Separate toilet room. The bathroom is divided by a curtain, curious but sufficient; all a bit dated in here, and the water took ages to run hot, but the shower was fine once it got there. Breakfast (7:30-10:00) definitely worth the €10, a good range of continental savouries and bakes, juice and coffee, cereal, hot and cold milk, in a pleasant breakfast room in reception with a view of the street. Door code access meant we could leave our luggage during the day until departure.…
Located right next to a bus stop for the airport and a pretty canal. The staff were really helpful and even made me a cup of tea in the evening. The room and hotel and old but charming and very comfortable. The breakfast was generous.
Four of us have just returned from four nights at this hotel ideally situated next to Le Castllet and next to the picturesque canal. It's not a luxurious place but for us it was perfect and qualifies for our 5 star assessment. Rooms are a bit tired but are gradually being refurbished by the relatively recent new owners. Henri and his team put in a great deal of effort to make a stay here perfect. Everyone is helpful and friendly and we will certainly stay here on our next visit,
