Situated between the sea and the mountains, 20 kilometres from Spain in a verdant setting, at the heart of the Catalan countryside and at the centre of the world, according to Salvador Dali, the Campanile hotel and restaurant in Perpignan Sud is an ideal spot for a family holiday or a business trip. The hotel and restaurant at Perpignan Sud is only fifteen minutes from the beach and only one hour away from the ski slopes. It is easily accessible from the southern motorway at Exit 42 or from Perpignan-Rivesaltes airport, situated just 20 kilometres away. In an isolated green area at the heart of a residential area, our building is in a prime location, situated only 15 minutes from the historic centre of Perpignan, that counts as one of the prettiest examples of both historic and religious Medieval Catalan architecture. You can also visit the centre del Mondo, which boasts a transition to the modern world and a very futuristic theatre of the Archipel. Come and enjoy our restaurant, which offers contemporary French cuisine made of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Try our tasty, varied, balanced cuisine, either as a buffet, a la carte or self-service meals. The restaurant is closed for lunch. We were put in a room with a broken lampshade and a sink that leaked all over the floor and one towel between two people. The main hotel was only open on the ground floor but we were placed in a first floor room. When we approached the management for an exclamation we were told that the lampshade could have been broken when the door slammed. Must get through a few lampshades then. They knew the sink leaked and were planning some repair works in the new future. Great.

The only thing going for this hotel is its closeness to a Hippopotamus restaurant. We stayed her e five years ago and the rooms were scruffy and tired then, now after five years they are even worse.. They have all the charm of an MFI store on closing day. Cheap tatty furniture, chips in the bath and an overall feeling that it needs a great deal of money spent on it. Why does the air conditioning in Campanile hotels never work? Fortunately we were on the shady side of the hotel as people on the sunny side would have roasted. The welcome was good and helpful. My advice there are better hotels to stay in in the same area and avoid this one. Oh, and campanile send someone to the UK to see how premier Inns work

The room was as we have experienced at different Campanile hotels before, although the bath was not full size, which was the only disappointment. Usual facilities in the room. Restaurant had been renovated to a nice finish, and the food was ok, although they had run out of the steak I wanted.

Standard Campanile on the edge of town. Ideal for a one night stopover when driving to or returning from Spain. Adequate restaurant with usual Campanile fayre. The room was quite cramped. Not easy to find.

Campanile know very well what this hotel does. It is basically a motel that travellers to and from Spain use as a one night stay and on that basis it just about provides that. You do not stay here for any luxury. The hotel desperately needs money put into it. If this does not happen, this place will turn into a dive. The first room allocated to us was dreadful, the second room was slightly better, though, the only sign of any maintenance was the new paint. As usual, campanile like many hotels rely on their staff, this hotel was no different. The staff deal with difficult problems that are really out of their control. This hotel was booked via a booking site months in advance and we paid a substantial amount over, compared to just arriving at the hotel. Based on the amount paid at the time of booking and in the future, when we next need accommodation in Perpignan, we will willingly pay an extra €30 to stay somewhere that are prepared to maintain their establishment to a higher standard than this one.
