Hotel du Pont Vieux enjoys a fantastic position, it is just a nice walk to the ramparts of the Medieval City. The Hotel is charming and cosy, our room was really comfortable and quiet, looking on the internal garden. Breakfast is excellent, with a wide choice of products, to relish in the peaceful atmosphere of the garden in summer. A special thank to the Hotel owners, Catherine and Jean Michel who have been so welcoming, friendly and kind, providing suggestions for restaurants and doing their best for making our stay pleasant. We will keep Carcassonne and Hotel du Pont Vieux as an unforgettable memory in our hearts. And we will remember also their beautiful cat, Isidore laying in the reception as the lord of the house!

Super friendly welcome and service throughout. Family run with some super recommendations made for dinner locally and the choice at breakfast was vast and delicious. We were able to park our car in the underground garage (small charge) but at least it meant we didn't have to unload everything! To note, there is no lift, but help offered with all our bags. And there's a cat too for all you feline lovers out there!

Hotel du Pont Vieux benefits from its location to access both La Cité and the ‘new’ town. A short walk over the Pont Vieux gives access to the many eateries in the town. A more energetic climb up hill takes you to La Cité one of France’s most photogenic places. A perfect viewing point is found on the roof terrace of the hotel, a stunning sight both by day and by night. We found Catherine to be very friendly and helpful throughout our five night stay and we will recommend this hotel and return ourselves before too long.

We had a very nice one-night stay at Hotel du Pont Vieux in Carcassonne. The exterior looks a little run down, but the inside is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. They upgraded us to a larger room, which was very nice. The bathroom was very well done and my wife appreciated the well lit area near the mirror. However, our room was on the third floor (the ground floor is floor 0), and there was no elevator, so we had to lug our luggage all the way up four flights of stairs. It was a real work-out, and if you have issues with stairs you may want to request a room on a lower level. One of the benefits of being on the third floor was the balcony at the end of the hall with a wonderful view of the old city. We had the breakfast the next morning, which was very nice. This is a nice, clean hotel, with a friendly staff, that does a good job of meeting your needs at a reasonable price. We would go back.…

Can't praise this little hotel enough, all the positive reviews you have read are correct, this is a beautiful place to stay. The garden at the rear was an excellent place to take in the morning breakfast, breakfast was superb also. Can not fault the place and we shall return 😁 10/10
