My sister and I arrived from Spain in pouring rain for an overnight stopover en route to the UK. The Receptionist was charming, the room acceptable and all we wanted was a meal and bed before an early exit the next day. We went for an early dinner and the restaurant was near empty. The menu was all in french and so we asked the waitress for assistance, explaining we didn’t speak french. She then rapidly read it all out in french!? We asked if there was a vegetarian option and she said No! We asked if there was anything the old provide for a vegetarian and she said, in perfect English, that the could provide a plate of vegetables. Her attitude was one from a different era and when our order arrived we had to return it because it was wrong. The rest of the catering staff were male and charming and the food was good but maybe this lady had other things on her mind. Next morning we arrived early to an empty restaurant. A different woman attended and spoke to us in french. We explained we didn’t speak french, to which she barked in perfect English - Room Number! We hurriedly picked a few bits from the buffet, drank our coffee and left. Hopefully we will revisit the town for a longer stay but it won’t be at The Mercure.…
Conveniently located next to the medieval city with ample private parking space. This is not the typical big Mercure style but a nice hotel. The rooms are small but comfortable and amenities are OK. The gardens are pleasant to sit in when having a break from visiting.
Rooms in this hotel were on the small side but very clean. There was no fridge but there was a coffee maker. AC was available but did not seem to be on during our September visit. Breakfast was good. We had a dinner while staying at the hotel but would recommend going elsewhere, perhaps back in town where there are more options. It is less than a 10 minute walk to the Cité and well worth going there to explore. Parking is available at no cost. Inner courtyard and pool are a nice addition.
We spent 3 nights in the hotel from 24-27/01. Hotel was pretty empty, but we got room on the 2nd floor with the view of the parking. Hotel has privet parking on the territory, breakfast is good and has everything you need. Very good location - 5-7 min walk to medieval city.
More like a family motel than a Mercure Hotel. The hotel was small and a bit squeezy but the rooms were comfortable and the location was very convenient to nearby tourist attractions. Meals were reasonable but not great. Service a bit slow but polite.
