It's hard to know where to begin when describing the intimate bordello atmosphere, impeccable service and luxury of Maison Souquet. My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights in a beautifully presented suite. We called on room service endlessly and were always delighted. At reception Maude gave us excellent tips for dining locally and further afield, and also recommended we...

What an amazing hotel! My fiancée and I stayed for 2 nights for a weekend getaway. This hotel exceeded all expectations. Located literally a minute from Moulin Rouge, we couldn't ask for a better location. The hotel is centered around many bars and restaurants and about 15-20 minutes walking from Sacre Couer. The hotel is a minute or two walking...

I have stayed at this hotel more than once over a two-year period and with the passing of time, the Maison Souquet continues to have a special place in my travel plans. Yes, there are larger hotels in Paris from which to choose, but having stayed at many five-star hotels in Paris, the Maison Souquet's elegance and comfort and professionalism...

I stayed at Maison Souquet one night as I had to attend a meeting in Paris . The staff is friendly . The hotel is tiny and everything is narrown and dark : the staircases, the hallways, and the rooms. Not even enough space to open my suitcase, no space to put things, I am not claustrophobic but I really...

Much better than the TV series of that name, this is a chance to relive the Belle Epoque days of Paris in the Pigalle area. Formerly a bordello, it has been restored to its sensual and erotic past, with rich red upholstered furniture, a welcoming bar, and a small breakfast room off the winter patio. There is even a small...

This hotel is utterly beautiful! I stayed here with my husband from 16th to 19th April to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and we had spent a great deal of time researching hotels to find one that was authentically Parisian, romantic and intimate. We could not have made a finer choice than Maison Souquet. Even before we arrived, the hotel...

We spent three days at Maison Souquet and it was amazing! We had an amazing junior suite. Cocktails and food at the bar was delicious, best burrata i have ever tasted. Perfect location, 10' walk to Sacre Coeur 10' walk to Galeries Lafayette, main department store in town.

This has got to be the most beautiful hotel. A former brothel, it oozes charm and seduction. From arriving the scented candles create a sense of calm. The tiny bar is lovely and luxurious. Bedrooms are small -but we had everything we needed. The personal, individual use of the pool and sauna - was a bonus.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Only those in the know will experience the luxury of the Maison Souquet, hidden behind an understated facade signaled by two red lanterns. The bawdy, wanton legend of the City of Light was forged in the area around Montmartre, a legend of which the Maison Souquet now forms part. In a building that served as a pleasure house during the Belle Epoque, one of the most lavish and licentious pages in the history of Paris has been brought to life. Jacques Garcia has applied his talent to recreating the mystery, elegance, exoticism, sensuality, and ostentatious luxury of these establishments with their own architectural mores. Carried away from the city on the whimsy of the decor, the mind is free to pursue pleasure amid a fantasy setting conjured through artwork, sofas, causeuses, and divans. Perfectly at home, guests see their room open out onto a plush setting where life revolves around the ritual of tea-time, play, and rendezvous before and after dinner. A temple to hedonism, the Maison Souquet is home to 20 rooms, including six suites with unique interiors. ... more   less
