This was such a lovely surprise find. I had seen photos on Trip advisor , but the reality was so much better! Went for a girlie , cycling weekend. I stayed in the gorgeous grand troglo suite, it was absolutely beautiful , high standard of furnishings , such a comfortable bed , lovely bathroom with a bath tub, tea & coffee facilities etc etc; The staff were without exception ,friendly and helpful , they even dog sat our aging poodle for the whole day ,whilst we were out cycling. I definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning

The Hotel Troglododo was a real find. Hidden away on the side of a rocky valley looking down over the lush forest, it was a really comfortable and fun place to stay. It lies over lots of levels as it melts into the hill. Our room was so clean and comfortable, very good air conditioning and a private terrace to sit out and look at the view. It is well worth paying for breakfast - delicious with lots of homemade products. Plus, you get to dine inside the hill in a cave! It was brilliant. The hosts were very friendly and nearby Azay le Rideau well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

This is one of the coolest places I've ever stayed! How unique to stay in a cave for a hotel room! And so beautiful! We were a group of five on a walking tour of the Loire and we loved our one night stay here--just wish we could have stayed longer!! The staff is also incredibly kind and helpful. Highly recommend staying here! One small thing--it is definitely best if you have a car in order to get into town as there are not a lot of taxis in the small town and it was a little far for us to walk after walking all day. One other tip if you are here in summer, definitely head into town to the chateau for the night show Les Nuits Fantastiques where they project images onto the chateau--really unique experience! It doesn't start until dark so plan ahead. Very grateful to the kind staff at this lovely hotel!

This is one of the most beautiful places we've stayed in. Rooms are big, well-equipped, and clean. Most important, the views from the hotel are breathtaking. Alaine is super helpful and kind, and helped us with everything we needed. The breakfast is rich and super valuable. Highly recommended for a stay in Loire.
