Stayed here yesterday after staying last year for the Ledger. Paid for 3 double rooms. We were given what was clearly a single room with a double bed squashed up to the wall so I had to climb over my husband every time I wanted to use the bathroom. When I asked why my sisters room were twice the size with a king-size bed we were told "fortunately for them they had been upgraded". Which obviously made us the unlucky ones We paid £170 for the night, having known I wouldn't have paid £70! We were expecting the room to be similar to last year but it was not even close and over £30 more. The water pipes made an awful racket like a motorbike in the room everytime someone in other rooms turned their tap on so we had to keep putting our tap on to stop it. An awful experience which we will not be repeating.

Booked the hotel. Arrived. Ignored at reception. No parking available on arrival. Sarcastic comments received when mentioned the parking. To cap it all we were told that the hotel had experienced an issue and our room was unavailable. Avoid at all costs.

What a great couple of days at this hotel. From the moment we checked in the staff where super friendly. Service at the bar in the restaurant was excellent!! I will have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. I work in the travel business and have stayed in many hotels and this one is in my top 10, again it’s the staff and service that makes it..We must have stayed in the warmest day of the year but was no problem to get a fan!! Well done Simon and staff, it was a pleasure staying at your hotel…
