2 stars might be a little harsh but I cant give half stars and while it was not horrible it certainly is not a 3 star experience. On arrival there is free parking which is a bonus with ample parking at the rear and the receptionist was perfectly friendly. The overall feeling on arrival is very average in terms of presentation with the staff in jeans and t-shirts and a large KFC being eaten in reception as I booked in but he was very amenable and paused his lunch to check me in. I walked through the bar area to reach my room. It is very tired and was rapidly filling with builders still in work clothes. Again they were perfectly friendly but it is the kind of hotel where you will find plenty of dirty work clothes and site workers so that will affect your experience if you're expecting a slightly more upmarket ambience. The room was average with an old plastic shower and NO towels! This was especially irritating as I failed to notice until I was in the shower! I cannot even remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that had no towels but lesson learned. Check before you get in the shower. There was also a bottle of open shower gel in the bath I assume was from a previous visitor! The bed was clean and comfortable and the hotel also had free WiFi which was slow but did work fine. I guess if you are literally looking for a place to crash within walking distance of Maidstone Town centre this place will be perfect. It is affordable and serviceable, if basic and limited in relation to extras. I'm not sure i would stay again. While it was not a nightmare I think I would happily pay an extra £20-£30 for a place with decent towels, no fluorescent vests and a quality shower but as i have said if you are passing through and just need a bed for the night or working in the area it is perfectly fine.

My room being a double was extremely small, bathroom not functional. Everything was very outdated Carpet warn out and dirty, there was a step when entering and exciting the room I tripped every time. Luckily I stayed only one night I wanted to stay in Maidstone a little longer but I couldn’t possibly stayed in that room for another night. Compare to Travel lodge and Premier inn who are budget hotels price wise on that night it was more expensive that these two hotel stated The entrance of the hotel was not at all welcoming, cold and univiting.

Stayed at the Grange Moor hotel for one night, and the room was lovely and clean, comfortable bed to sleep in. Easy reach to the town centre. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Staff very helpful.

What an awful dive this place is and for £85 per night which doesn’t include breakfast is criminal. Waited a while for someone to come and check us in as the staff member wearing no uniform was stood outside smoking. We had to pay for the room on check in rather than check out…. I can see why!! No one in their right mind would pay their prices to stay here when they see the room! Dirty, unclean and it hadn’t been cleaned for a while. There was still a used razor left in the shower from previous guests! Bed was hard like concrete, plaster hanging off walls, cups weren’t clean to have tea and coffee in. Pillows were thin and useless. Couldn’t find anyone to speak too about making a complaint! Breakfast was overpriced and staff were lacking to welcome you to a table! Coffee was awful and tea was just as bad. Fawlty towers would have been a better place to stay!!!

We left early….. the room was not up to the standard we expected based on the info on booking.com Toilet seat is yellow with wee stains, window handles are hanging off, bed is so soft it’s like a water mattress, the sink has blue gel on it from previous guests and then we tried the shower today and on full blast it’s a drip only. We arrived and they gave us a room in their over the road building…. It felt like an old doss house

It is very dated hotel, the pillows are very thin. Bed was big and comfortable The blinds were broken so didn’t close properly. Very warm rooms due to old building and no air conditioning. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is ok walked into town took 10 minutes

Travelled with elderly mum to see a very sick relative in hospital with cancer. When we arrived we were greeted friendly with a smile and given the information we needed about breakfast times although it was not mentioned that there is no chef on a Sunday when we booked on the phone otherwise we would of tried somewhere else. Our room you literally had to walk up and down various winding stairs and doors to a disabled room (we did not ask for) where there was a lovely view of the dirty backyard with chairs piled up high near to our window so we had to have the curtains closed much of the time in may so we didn't look at them. The shower was lovely and warm, just a hole in the floor. More choices needed at breakfast (pastries, fruit, yoghurt etc). The hairdryer in room 33 had black tape around the middle (how dangerous). Not exactly what I imagined I would expect for what I paid at already an emotional time.

The service at the Grange Moor Hotel was excellent. Our car was snowed in, but the manager, assisted by a member of staff, assisted us in digging it out, despite the freezing weather. Our double bed was very comfortable and the light meal that we had on the night before our departure was of a high quality. The table service was excellent. The full English breakfast was one of the best ever experienced. This review has only been delayed because I thought a friend had submitted it for my wife and for me. I only discovered yesterday that this had not happened. We highly recommend this comfortable hotel to anyone intending to stay in Maidstone, Kent, England, UK. We will certainly stay there again and we intend do so in June this year.

I think someone has posted a Faulty Towers look alike and I agree. No Waldorf salad though. First the good points, the bed was comfy and the staff were helpful and friendly but the food was pretty awful, fixtures and fittings were a bit touch and go and the whole place was terribly dated. Good for a place to put your head for a night if everywhere else is booked up, but not much else.
