The Shakespeare Inn is over 200 years old situated in the heart of the world heritage site of the Ironbridge Gorge, and within easy walking distance to the Coalport China Museum, the Blists Hill Museum, the Maws Craft Centre and the famous Ironbridge itself. Return visit with friends who live locally and are regular patrons to the pub, We had a fabulous meal (Sunday roast). Upon entering the pub, we were made very welcome. Food orders were taken, and the service was quick, and nothing was any trouble. Coffee's ordered and served very quickly, All in all, it was worth the drive, the food was excellent and Brett Jenny and the staff are all fantastic, and the service was 1st class. Can't wait to return in summer.

I visited the Shakespeare Inn last Saturday for a family celebration. I ordered a duck sizzler which came with a huge quantity of chips so I had to hunt for what was allegedly duck. I found six small pieces of meat which was unrecognisable due to the fact that it was smothered in burnt sauce. I did not find any stir fried vegetables which should have been included. The other meals were acceptable. However, everyone left substantial quantities of food due to the over sized portions of chips. In other words, quantity over quality. At £16.95 I have never paid so much for a plate of chips. Oh, I nearly forgot the 'duck'? There are other value for money venues in the locality serving good food, so why suffer. My advice is to go elsewhere.

Stopped here for dinner during our stay in Telford. We booked for a Monday evening and the pub was relatively busy. Menu was great and the portions were huge. Food was delicious in this lovely cosy pub. Waitress was friendly and her service really added to the experience.

The Shakespeare is a beautiful homely pub set in the lovely Ironbridge, Coalport area. We have visited more times than I can count and every meal has been exceptional. The Sunday lunches are my favourite of anywhere. Delicious meats and great selection of vegetables, fabulous service. The staff are all so lovely. The menu is extensive and a lovely outside area to have a nice wine and admire the beautiful scenery

Visited Shakespeare for family birthday meal, what a treat. It was exceptional & we are quite fussy where we eat out. Give it a go! Starters: king prawn, mushroom, salt & chilli chicken, all were amazing, big portions & absolutely delicious & piping hot. Mains: hunter’s chicken, surf & turf, salmon & steak. All presented beautifully & tasted amazing. The food was top notch, can’t believe this was our first visit, we will be back. Environment very cosy & comfortable. Service was very good. Really good value for money. All 5 of us loved the food/quality & we will be back. Thank you.

booked in for a quiet meal. shown to our table and then it seems we were forgotten about for what seemed an age. totally table service so tried several times to catch waitress eye but to no avail. eventually service came ordered drinks... and when we asked what cider fruit was available was told bluntly which one and that it. so rather than wait any further we placed our food order. it came and it was absolutely lovely. nice big portions well cooked and presented. i would have give 5 stars but the abruptness of the two ladies serving was a little disappointing. may it was because they were busy i dont know. i was looking at planning a family booking of 14 for a birthday... but not so sure now.

We were staying down the road at Blackbird Cottage and thought we'd go for a drink. The pub is lovely outside and in. The bar tenders were very welcoming and friendly. The pub is dog friendly which we loved (seeing the dogs happy with their owners made us happy) the bar was well stocked and full. They had local telford pork scratchings which we enjoyed. The food looked amazing even though we didn't eat there. Definitely be back soon.
