It’s not just the clean and comfortable rooms that makes a hotel great. I found the staff to be exceptionally helpful and friendly. In particular, I would like to thank the wonderful ladies in the breakfast room who were always so cheerful and friendly. I requested vegetarian sausages which they brought to my table each morning. The front desk were wonderful too, especially when Booking.com had completely screwed up my reservation. Top marks for a great team.
First time ever staying in a holiday inn express, we Stayed for 3 nights Good clean room and bathroom although the shower had a very high step into it, toilet paper was really thin. Tea coffee milk sugar supplied. Hair dryer iron and ironing bused also in the room Had a few problems with the heating, takes a while for room to get warm ONLY a 4ft 6” double bed so hubby and I played tug the quilt all night You can’t pay for anything with cash, everything is card only. Breakfast was very good, could do with bigger mugs On the whole a good stay
We had a nice friendly welcome and for our two nights stay were given a quiet room on the first floor. This was the usual Holiday Inn Express rooms with some hanging space and a few shelves, a settee and one uncomfortable swivel chair. There wasn’t anywhere to put and leave open our case, so perhaps a suitcase stand would have been useful? There was also a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and the usual couple of tea bags, coffee sachets and milk, but extras were readily available at reception. We had extra pillows…..but we found the bed to be so hard and small….only a 4’6” size. The air con worked well to warm the room up but over night when turned off made horrendous noises continuously. It sounded like raindrops on the windowsill or a drain emptying …..among other noises! So with the noise from the air con, the size and hardness of the bed….sleep quality was poor! We did ask the next morning for a bed topper, but they didn’t have one, so a duvet was delivered to the door and we put that on the bed for the second night. This did help a little bit and we also decided to leave the air con on very low, which stopped the horrendous noises we had the precious night. Breakfast was their typical free fayre ……scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and baked beans. Plus cereals, fruit, croissants and muffins. The food area and seating were all kept very clean and the food was all fresh and hot. All the staff were particularly good and friendly, especially the breakfast staff and reception staff. The hotel was handy for the Swindon Outlet centre…..which was approximately 10 minutes drive away. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and it has served us well. But…..due to the poor sleep will not visit again until something is done about both the air con and more importantly the beds!…
i enjoyed my stay here. The staff were very professional and helpful. the rooms were clean and quiet although could do with updating. Breakfast was good, with a nice selection, although the coffee was quite poor. Plenty of options to eat nearby and an m & s just round the corner.
This is the first time we stayed here, as we were visiting friends and decided to stay the night and go to the Designer Outlet the next morning. It was a lovely stay, From start to finish! Staff were wonderful, especially Oma and Radha next morning at breakfast. My wife is disabled, and they were very helpful and caring! Hotel and the room was spotlessly clean. A fantastic location, and a wonderful free breakfast......... What more could you ask for!!!
I have visited this hotel in the past and standards are very hit or miss The rooms are spacious but dated with not even a plug socket by the bed The air con is good Breakfast is average at best and the tables often dirty Parking is good with loads of spaces Very average hotel with average levels of service
We had a stopover in Swindon so that we could travel to Stonehenge for my wife’s birthday. I asked the hotel in advance to do something to mark the occasion, which they did very well. When we checked in, the room had balloons and happy birthday messages all around the room. Another thing that impressed me was the breakfast. I have just been to a Premier Inn hotel in London on business at the time of writing this review. While Premier Inn offers slightly more variety in their breakfast foods, the quality of food in this Holiday Inn Express is exceptional, light years ahead of Premier Inn. Well done, Holiday Inn Express Swindon West!
Staff excellent, polite, attentive and helpful. Dinner excellent, very well cooked. Hotel prices to be expected but you don't mind so much when it's good quality. Breakfast delicious and plenty of choice. A fine hotel and would definitely book again if in the area.
We stayed one night to split the journey up before travelling home after a day at Longleat. The room was clean and comfy, but a little cramped because of the sofa bed set up for my daughter. Breakfast was nice and plenty of choice, it does seem to get busy about 9.00-9.30am so best to eat before then
We stayed for 1 night to break up a long journey, fab hotel for the money you pay. Lovely room with sofa bed made up for the kids on arrival. Big tv, free WiFi, good parking, good breakfast, comfy beds, bar and food in hotel. Excellent location just off M4 but also right next to beefeater. Great staff and easy check in. Would def stay here again and would def stay with holiday inn again.
