This hotel is old, dingy & dirty….probably the worst I’ve ever stayed in. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is the location & front desk service….but there are a lot of other options that check those boxes in the same area. It’s a shame they don’t renovate this place. It could be great

We stayed here for just over a week and the rooms were good sized, clean and the bathrooms were also nice and clean with good water pressure. The restaurant and bar downstairs had great live music and was very convenient for food. The location is very convenient as well. The daily breakfast was also a great feature, the food was very good and made it easy to get your day started.

My parents and I stayed here for a couple days as our first stop on an extended trip to Ireland. The location is fantastic, right on the River Liffey close to Temple Bar. Our first night there we decided to have dinner in the hotel bar which was packed with many locals watching a game. The food was good and we could see through the windows that it is a popular area since there were so many people walking by. In the morning we had breakfast at the hotel which was excellent and we were greeted by a very friendly employee who had been working there for over 20 years. Another positive is that the Big Bus Dublin hop on hop off tour has a stop right in front of the hotel so it was very easy to get a tour of the city from the hotel. We also decided to see the Arlington Hotel’s Celtic Nights show which was good and featured food served in the hotel bar. The only negative things were that someone had very clearly smoked in our non-smoking room and that the room was very hot with no way to regulate the temperature.

5 Reasons for a Five Star Review: 1. Location! In the middle of the action. 2. Excellent staff! People like Helena (breakfast hostess), make certain you are taken care of. Reception staff are on top of everything. 3. In Touch With the Past: ‘The Celtic Nights’, the ambience, traditional Irish food and drink. 4. Comfortable, clean rooms. 5. Affordable.

Celtic nights. This must be the worst band I have ever heard. All those tourists must believe that this is some quality. I was appalled. When I took it up with the door lady, she agreed with me but shrugged her shoulders as if to say, so what!

I booked the Arlington through Agoda for my dad and brother as they were attending a funeral in Dublin. I booked a twin room. I received my confirmation t he at said I had booked a twin room, I also have got proof on my Agoda account that I booked a twin room. When my dad booking into the hotel they gave him a double room. He only noticed when he went up to the room. The receptionist said that I had booked a double room when I didn’t. He was phoning me from 5.30pm till 8pm to ask if I had booked them a double room. He had to get a taxi back to the hotel to sort out the mess. He spent two hours changing his room at 9pm on the evening. I emailed the complaints department as he spent most of his 1 evening in Dublin sorting the room out. I haven’t had a reply back from the Arlington. It’s just not good enough.

My dad found this hotel on Booking and we had a great experience there. Very old room in style and in furniture but very big and with all the things you need such as towels, iron, hair drier, kettle with tea and coffee. Beds were very comfortable. The room was extremely warm! (maybe too much) One negative thing was the shower... very old not really practical. Breakfast was very rich, normal Continental breakfast. The Celtic Nights experience was amazing! THe best part of the trip! It is a shame that they don't offer discounts for people that are staying in the hotel. Very highly recommended as it is super close to the center, temple bar, O connell street, HA penny Bridge, Trinity College.. everything is super close even the stop to go to the airport!

Over to Dublin to enjoy the city, and to watch the rugby game Ireland v France. And we decided to come in at the Arlington, great staff, great beer and a great ambiance! We had lunch too, good quality food and service. Came back another evening for the Celtic show. A great evening, nice menu, staff very professional. Will definitely come back! Jc Delage
