I stayed in this hotel for a night away for my 30th birthday. Hotel is basic, clean room, comfortable bed, has your basic needs covered. A little noisy at night but this wasn’t my issue. My issue was one extremely RUDE member of staff approach me at breakfast time to tell me to put on my mask, I am exempt and told her so. The woman then told me I need to prove that i am exempt while I’m literally trying to make a slice of toast, shouting in front of a full restaurant at me! Extremely rude old woman when I told her I don’t need to prove anything, carrying an exemption card or badge is a personal choice and is not required by law. Educate your staff not only on Covid but basic manners! Waking up on my 30th birthday to get absolute cheek of a uneducated jobsworth! Told her to get the manager which he agreed she shouldn’t of been so rude , but no apology from her or him. The woman was actually standing in the kitchen laughing and speaking about me. Never seen the likes of it in my life. Embarrassing and strange behaviour from one of your staff members. Stay away from this hotel, staff are rude and not nice in the slightest!!!!

Hotel's Favourite
Having toured Scotland and stayed in a wide variety of hotels I can say with authority that our stay at this hotel was outstanding. We arrived on foot , a bit of a slog uphill from the central station ( Queen St station is closer) and were greeted by Lori. She was beyond helpful . Our room was perfect , the beds and bedding exceptional and the bathroom ( large walk in shower) heaven after travelling. The location is central to attractions although parking may be a bit of an issue if you arrive by car as there is no parking on site. Breakfast has been well thought out with self service ( everything is packaged for Covid safety) but this means that you are not waiting to be served and it allows you a greater feeling of freedom. Bar snacks are available but with a huge variety of cuisines on the doorstep why would you not explore. I could not fault this hotel and would highly recommend.

Stayed at this hotel on a Saturday and Sunday night. Pro's - close to city centre, friendly staff, on site gym (small), cooked breakfast - The hotel is in the centre of Glasgow and Close to parking (Q Park £12 per 24 hrs validated by hotel. The staff are very friendly, as is the way with most people in Glasgow. The breakfast includes a hot buffet and some cereals etc. At peak times the breakfast room is too small with insufficient tables. On our second day both coffee machines were out of order. There is an on site fitness room which is small but if you manage to get in when no one else is there is is more than adequate. It includes some cardio equp including treadmill and stationary bike, also free weights, gym balls etc. Bedroom - we asked for a quiet room having read the previous review re nightclub noise. We were given room 405. The room is relatively small. The window does not open so aircon is required nearly 24 hrs to try and eliminate the stale smell. There are tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, iron, hairdryer. No Fridge. The shower is okay, not as hot or powerful as I would like it but did the job. The biggest issue for me with this "quiet" room was practically no sleep on Saturday night from the nightclub. I still have no idea where it is but the noise from people standing outside it from 11pm and then the bass kicking kept me awake until it closed at 3am and everyone congregated outside till about 4am. Sunday night was So much better, no noise! I know the hotel can't do much about this but if this is a quiet room and you are a light sleeper like me, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. I don't think the hotel was value for money and sadly won't be returning, it just wasn't for us I am afraid. Thank you to the staff who were friendly and helpful.Show less

We'd stayed here once in 2018, when the hotel was brand new. Excellent location, staff, food, amenities, and especially kind staff. I would highly recommend. The only thing we noticed, and it is very minimal is that a small amount of mold was on the caulking in the shower. NO BIG DEAL, as I do at home, spray with a little bleach and it's gone. Otherwise, perfection. Plus the margarita pizza was exceptional along with a late night dram of whisky was especially enjoyable.
