This hotel is in a very good location for visiting all Gretna’s attractions and the Outlet Shopping Village. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast we had was excellent with a good selection of hot and cold items from the buffet. The bedroom was warm and comfortable but in need of an upgrade especially the bathroom, this was reflected in the price we paid, all in all good value for money.

We returned to this hotel for a one night stay and enjoyed our time here. The staff are helpful and very pleasant we ate in the hotel restaurant and both of us ordered Steak pie with creamy mash. The pie was very good with tender meat and the mash and gravy were also very tasty. For dessert we chose the sticky toffee pudding. Local beer was our choice, Gretna Best Ale. Our room was on the first floor in the newer wing of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent with a full hot and cold buffet available. The room was small, but warm, clean and comfortable. A programme of refurbishment is ongoing so eventually all the rooms will be improved. The hotel stands in mature grounds on the edge of Gretna and very accessible from the motorway.

I found the staff friendly, helpful and polite. The room is good quality. The bed is extremely comfortable, the towels are soft and top quality, the shower is a good power shower with copious amounts of hot water.

The dining experience the food is good quality albeit the vegetables were Spartan. Breakfast was good quality and plentiful.

Natasha's law has not travelled this far north still much to do.

A Coach Holiday called Highlands and Dolphins, from Swindon to Beauly (near Inverness) Barnes Coaches. Both ways we broke our journey at Gretna Hall Hotel.
Room 14, on return journey, ground floor viewing lawns. A great room, a comfy warm double bed, desk area, large wall mounted TV, best of all black-out curtains that worked. I enjoyed a really good nights sleep and needed my alarm to rouse me next morning. Electric a 13 square pin socket above the shelf by my bed so could plug-in my sleep apnoea machine. There were plenty of wall sockets also several USB sockets.
Bathroom stylish and practical, see photos. A great double shower with the option of hand holding the shower head. Easy access to this shower straight walk in fine for a pensioner awaiting a replacement knee. Basin see photo modern, stylish, with very powerful water supply turn tap on slowly or get splashed. Loo flushed as it should.

Food Glorious Food

Coach parties do not expect Epicurean Feasts, BUT 4 meals were enjoyed. Photos should include the evening menu. I choose pate, chicken and cheese plus coffee or tea included. Service may have been a tad slow but hot food was served hot, quality good better than many coach hotels. Our coach party were “together” but Covid spaced.
Breakfast was an Epicurean feast see photos. The largest bowl of creamy porridge I have ever enjoyed in Scotland. Plus, orange juice with refill and my own coffee pot.
I have photographed the real Scottish main: - Fried egg (soft lovely) on potato cake, butcher’s sausage, large slice of bacon, field mushroom, grilled tomato, black pudding and Haggis. That set me up for 300+ miles and there was toast, butter and marmalade.

Dariusdave has stayed twice, happy with both visits. I can honestly say Gretna Hall Hotel, with friendly helpful staff, is far better than any Gatwick overnight hotel and I have tried many. Next time I visit Scotland, and there are many new coach holidays I hope to overnight at Gretna Hall again.

We stayed two nights here, one of them in a suite which was fabulous and would definitely be my choice when we return. which we very much hope to do . All the standard rooms are currently being upgraded and will also be of a high standard upon completion. The public areas have all been refurbished and are very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable.
The staff at Gretna Hall are all delightful too , so friendly and helpful, they are a real asset to the hotel, The current deals being offered are unbelievable value for money as the food also is excellent, good quality ingredients cooked well.
Thank you for a great break - hope to see you again soon.

We spent two nights at Gretna hall, we got married at the gazebo (we changed our location from the Coach house at the very last minute; it was beautiful and very private just what we were looking for. We were made to feel very relaxed and well looked after. Our party only consisted of us two and our pooch 🐶. The food was superb and the cocktail menu was lovely too. We took the option of having our breakfast in our room which was ‘delivered’ on time both mornings. Special thanks to Vicky Nichols who was so lovely and made our stay that much more pleasurable. She is most definitely a huge credit to this establishment. 🥰

I can not even begin to put into words how amazing this place is. We got married here last Saturday and from the moment we checked in, the staff were absolutely incredible.

We stayed in the Wakefield Turner suite and it was everything I thought it would be and more. We had 10 people in our wedding party including my 13 year old son, the hotel upgrade my son from a standard room to a suite of his own with an interconnecting door - which was a god send completely free of charge!

The hotel is super covid safe, and me and my guest felt completely safe the whole stay. The staff were so kind, and literally couldn't do enough for us anything we asked for just magically appeared.

The small touches really do make the biggest difference, we received a little basket with lots of goodies inside and even a free bottle of champagne on arrival.

The suite was amazing, great colour scheme, huge shower, roll top bath and 4 poster bed.

The food was really good, a lady called Maria set my wedding table and literally run around after us on the day, she is such a lovely lady and a credit to Gretna Hall.

We had a private dinning room in the Johnson suite, it was the perfect size for our party of 10.

If you are getting married in Gretna - then this is the place to do it. The Old Coach House was so perfect, all the candles lit and an aisle to make you feel like a princess for a day.

Just perfect, thank you so much Gretna Hall, we will see you on our anniversary!

Decided to choose hotel for overnight stay for 18 year Wedding Anniversary as previous experiences were very good and checked reviews still good. First issue when we arrived was like wacky races trying to find parking space as there was a wedding on and they had more staff in than normal, common sense would say that as probably weddings on a weekly if not daily basis there would be a parking system in place with allocated spaces for wedding party guests, paying guests and also staff instead of a free for all, maybe if they had so many staff in someone should have been out there advising where to park as well. We then went to Reception and i was asked for a debit card for security fine but didn't inform me that they would take a £1 of my account not the amount but the principle and then instead of paying balance of booking when leaving we had to pay it when arriving never done that before also not informed that in order for lights etc to work we would need to put card in slot in wall in room. So we then got to room that is supposedly an easy access room for wheelchair users etc, the room was like an oven and only has double doors that open out to small pation area not very security concious, no fan in room either should be available without having to ask for it especially in the heat we have been having and the fact you can't leave the door open when not in room the room was also very small and claustraphobic. The food was ok i thought but when i returned home i was very unwell with upset stomach etc after breakfast i used the facilities and in the same toilet there was a staff member who left without washing their hands, have we not came out from a pandemic where it was mandatory to wash hands and cleanliness has that bee forgotten so important but regardless hand washing after toilet common sense. So disappointed will not return do not waste your hard earned money choose somewhere else.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, it is appreciated. Congratulations on your recent anniversary! There are ample parking spaces including an overflow carpark which is signposted. It is standard procedure for hotels to take the remaining balance of a reservation on arrival, the reception team ensure they explain the £1 pre-authorisation thoroughly as it can be confusing, I can only apologise if this was not the case. We do have fans available on request which we could have happily supplied for you. Our staff have separate toilet areas so I am unsure why they would use the communal toilets. Many Thanks, Emily - Gretna Hall Hotel Reception Manager

We decided it would be fun to stop in Gretna Green on the first day of our honeymoon, the day after our wedding, and this lovely historic hotel sounded like the perfect solution. After booking, we were offered an upgrade to a suite for an additional £40 so we treated ourselves, and we are so glad we did. What a beautiful room! And we were blown away by the towels shaped into swans on the bed! The coffee maker in the room was a lovely touch, and the waterfall shower was one of the best we've had in a hotel, it was wonderful.

The staff on Reception were amazing and could not do enough for us. When I asked for a couple of forks so we could eat our wedding cake in our room, as we had not had the opportunity to even try any on the day, the lady on Reception ran off and not only got us forks but plates as well.

After checking in we went off to explore - there was a wedding going on in the grounds, with bagpipes playing! Then we took the short walk to The Blacksmiths Shop where there were multiple wedding photo opportunities and a new exhibition about Gretna Green and weddings which was fun.

A perfect stay from start to finish, thank you!
