Have stayed at this hotel a few times and this trip was as good as our other experiences. Great welcome. Lovely river view room on the 4th floor. Clean well appointed bedroom. Nice pool and Jacuzzi. Centrally located within a few minutes walk to the shopping centres and derry / londonderrys walls. Excellent evening meals and breakfast in Thompsons . I can't fault a thing.

Only good thing about the City Hotel is the location. We upgraded to a superior suite and we where extremely disappointed. The room is nothing special, bog standard and in desperate need of a makeover, the water in bathroom smelt badly and couldn’t take a shower as the water would have burned you, no matter what you done it wouldn’t cool, also had to brush our teeth with warm water as it wouldn’t go cold either. Breakfast also was disappointing. For the money we paid for one night I feel ripped off and will not stay here again. Derry itself is wonderful but stay somewhere else

Stayed for 3 nights in July. Rooms neat, tidy and well maintained. Didn't eat at their restaurant but couldn't fault their bar food. Quick and friendly staff. Main plus was the staff. Efficient and very friendly. But one guy stood out,Marcus. Extremely friendly, attentive and chatty. All round nice fella. Credit and asset to the establishment.

chose this hotel as we wanted something central, wish we chose somewhere else! Rooms are outdated and during our stay it was hot, expected there to be some air conditioning in the room, not a small fan which didn’t help at all! Had to wait for our room to be ready after 3:45pm, we sat for almost an hour waiting in the lobby area and wasn’t given any apology’s, which in other hotels would be the norm. location and staff are the only decent things about this hotel

I give this hotel 5/5 ⭐️, staff at reception very friendly and helpful as were all the staff, nothing was a problem when we asked for something, we booked a superior double room and it didn’t disappoint, beautiful view of the river Foyle and peace bridge and Guild Hall from our window, breakfast and dinner were absolutely amazing, rooms clean and well equipped, hotel centrally located for doing all the tour’s and the bars are very welcoming, really enjoyed the Guildhall Taphouse bar just around the corner, thank you to the staff of the City Hotel, you are a credit to the hotel. 👍
