we stayed here for two nights in mid September during the Covid era. upon arrival we were greeted by door that wouldn't open an intercom system that didn't work so I had to phone the reception three times for someone picked up. Understandably the lady that picked up said that they were short staffed and she was in charge of running the restaurant room service, housekeeping and checking in guests that evening all on her own. The checking process of relatively quick and the hotel is very easy to navigate. The lifts are indeed very very slow so give yourself some time if you're in a rush. The rooms are quite dry been old and they needed a little bit of refurbishing, but other than that for £35 a night at that price that was what I could expect. Another critique was that the surroundings are really noisy so be sure to tell the booking team to request for a room on a higher floor and don't make the mistake that I made. we also got the package that included breakfast and I have to say that the breakfast was subpar, my advice is save money and go out to one of the cafes in the surrounding area instead of having the signature Premier Inn Breakfast. aside from all that I have to say that the location of this hotel is really good as it is literally a two minute walk from new Street station and is right smack in the middle of the city centre.

Amazing service!! Due to covid-19 myself and my partner decided not to travel to Birmingham to do our Christmas shopping, assuming we had lost out on our booking as it was past the cancellation date. Alex, i believe he is a manager at the hotel called me this afternoon and rearranged our booking for another suitable date free of charge and we did not lose out on any money, in fact they refunded the difference between the two nights stays. Amazing customer service very friendly and approachable, will definitely be booking again!
