This was my 2nd of many stays planned at this property. As always the service, professionalism and passion shined through. My schedule this visit was jam packed so sadly didn't spend as much time in the property as I'd of liked but the following review is a representation of what I did experience. Reception/Reservations Gillian, thank you very much for putting up with my barage of emails to get this stay booked. Sorry I didn't get chance to see you on this occasion but there will be plenty more. Katie, Fiona and all of you customer service stars on the Front desk, please don't ever change. You are all superstars in my eyes! Reji.... please take a day off! Your service, willingness and 'can do' approach was really appreciated on every day of my stay. Keep on keeping on my friend. Bar/Restaurant Limited visits except for breakfast and a night cap one evening. Food plentiful, fresh and tasty. Breakfast you've become my favourite meal of the day again! Spa Nicola thank you for the initial email sorting my requests. I would recommend Maria in the team to anyone and her calming approach to treatments. I recommend Dreamy Legs and Body Elements. Sheer relaxation! Club Lounge I have saved the best to last, but in reality everything and every individual in this property is a superstar. However, Sally remains a superb ambassador for excellence and consistency of service. Thank you for everything including running my Cheese board and much needed Pinot to my room on a day I was so busy. I assure you my next visit I'll factor in time to make sure I see you and the team. My thanks especially to Carl for arranging the off menu requests on multiple occasions. I return South tomorrow, (yes I'm still here at the time of writing as can say with certainty my stay will remain positive) but shall return before the year out. Thank you all, for again delivering a superb stay and continuing to strive deliver in what have been turbulent times. Team Crowne Plaza Newcastle. You're amazing. Greg x #409 …
I booked the Crown Plaza for a three night break whist visiting my family in Newcastle; as I/we had stayed here previously. I expected the same level of service/standards - unfortunately this was not the case. After an eight-hour journey to Newcastle, arriving at around 20:00, I was looking forward to a relaxing evening in the hotel as I was particularly tired. The reception team on arrival were friendly and efficient and my check in was processed quickly. The room, a standard queen was comfortable, but there was an aroma in the room that I could not quite identify. That said, this was not the issue. As the hour was getting late..ish (20:30) I did not desire a heavy meal and went to the Bar; ordered a large G & T and Chicken Caesar Salad, which sadly they had run out of, I then requested a Salmon Caesar Salad, but again there was nil available and I was informed there were no salads, but burgers and other options etc.......................This is not what I desired after such along-journey and made my feelings known, 'I expected better of a hotel of this stature and duly left the bar without the G & T' I raised my points on passing reception, who were most apologetic and asked could anything be done to rectify this.....Obviously Nada, from my perspective and informed them I would vote with my feet and check out the following morning. The following morning, I did indeed check out and booked into their sister hotel, 'Indigo' for my remaining two night in Newcastle, which incidentally was perfect I was asked on check out is there anything the hotel could do and also would I contemplate ever returning? Simply informed them nothing could be done and as for returning, never say never, but not in the near future I expected better!…
Central hotel, about a 7 minute walk from Newcastle train station - turn right as you come out of Newcastle station (we turned left on arrival and walked the long way!). Our room was very spacious. The reason I’ve knocked a star off is it didn’t smell too fresh - the windows don’t open so there is no fresh air circulation and the air conditioning didn’t cool the whole room. As a result the nights were uncomfortably hot. Special mention to Karl Neesam who was so helpful with a minor query.
We booked for a city break 28th for 2 nights. First impressions of the hotel were good, short walk from train station. We left our luggage as we were not able to check in before 3pm 🙄. After a day in Newcastle we came back at about 8pm to check in, all smooth. Room was good sized with 2double beds, we were on 2nd floor but had limited natural light with a prison slit window overlooking carpark so lights on needed all the time. Woken at 3am with drunk people knocking constantly on door next to us. Woken at 4.30am with screaming and shouting 2 doors down. Opened the room door was met by hotel security to stay in room, police had arrived to evict the occupant's and to speak with reception in morning. Not a restful stay at all and expected more from a crowne plaza hotel. Would not recommend this hotel for a weekend stay as I think they have their pricepoint a little out of sync. Plus on checkout we were never asked if we enjoyed our stay or for any feedback - I would have loved to have given this feedback at the time had the hotel been bothered to ask 🤔…
I stayed at the hotel with my sisters, to have some down time. It was such a lovely visit as the staff at the crown Plaza in Newcastle made us feel so welcome. The visit was mainly to give my sisters a break, and the team at the hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel was very clean, bright and airy. Our room was so comfortable with a complementary bottle of Prosecco and a welcome card for Alex and her team.. I will definitely be staying here again and will let people know my experience here. I just can’t speak highly enough of these guys who made our weekend. Thank you, so very much… Rachel, Catherine and Sylvia… x x
We have stayed at this hotel several Times & have never been disappointed. We stayed this Saturday night with my daughter & her family, and again we experienced their wonderful professionalism & hospitality. Can’t praise the excellent staff enough ,from Alex in reception, to Sally in the club lounge , we were treated to brilliant care and service. We will continue with our regular visits to the wonderful city of Newcastle , but having tried all the big hotel chains, will always continue to choose The Crowne Plaza, for the comfort, convenience & never failing excellent service.
I have visited The Crowne Plaza on several occasions and been happy with the food and service. Not this time however. We had afternoon tea and all the food tasted stale and tasteless. After we were initially served we didn't see another member of staff. We had one cup of tea and would have liked another but couldn't get the attention of a staff member to help. Very disappointed as it was an anniversary treat. I am sorry to say it but won't be returning.
We visited Newcastle for a short break and wanted a convenient location. The hotel is well appointed with comfortable beds and friendly, helpful staff. Our room was spotlessly clean. It is close to the central station but 100% sound proof. The food is of a good standard. Parking is adjacent to the hotel with plenty of space. A very pleasant stay in a very pleasant hotel
Twin Double Room - 10/10. Large, clean and quiet. Bathroom - 10/10. Modern, clean with a bath and a decent shower. Bed - 9/10. Comfy. WiFi - N/a. Didn’t use. Gym - Didn’t use. Looked ok though. Spa looked good too, did use the steam room. Staff - 10/10. ALL staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Hotel - 10/10. Nice convenient hotel for a few nights’ stay. Nice quiet area. Breakfast Buffet - Fantastic quality and quantity. Got the room at a decent promo rate, so definitely couldn’t fault it. Not sure if I’d pay full price as would probably look for something cheaper…
My husband and I stayed with seven friends and we had a brilliant time. Alex at reception was friendly and efficient and able to sort out our complex booking with ease. An excellent ambassador for your hotel. Her colleagues James, Gloria and Katie were also helpful. We enjoyed the afternoon in the pool, drinks in the Gin Bar in the evening and a tasty breakfast the following morning. We are considering making it a yearly get together. Thanks for making our stay special.
