Very noisy at the front of the hotel (earplugs should really be provided) Room was just depressing with scuffed walls, chipped paint and uncomfortable mattress. And expensive for a very basic hotel! Would not return and would not recommend.

Stayed at the hotel for The Great North Run and must say was really disappointed with the hotel. Whilst I’m aware that the hotel is “basic” this hit a new meaning. Checking in was quick and easy and the staff member was engaging and polite. Making our way to the room I noticed hallways and carpets looked very worn and tatty. The room was clean, a double bed in the corner. We had 1 window which opened a little and a TV on the wall. I was a little puzzled by the lack of some items - no bin, no in room drink making facilities, no drinking glasses etc. The air-con in the room wasn’t working which made for a hot and uncomfortable evening given the temperature in the room. When I visited reception to take for an extra pillow I was informed they had no spare and they couldn’t help. However it’s not all bad the location of the hotel is excellent and is perfect for exploring from.

Terrible hotel, really cold and uncomfotable beds with no duvets. I even have to wear my coat in bed (Start of September) with how cold the rooms are. Heating not working. Small, unclean rooms. I do not recommend this to anyone, even no duvets/no blankets on the beds even.

Great hotel with a hostel laid back feel but everyone who worked there was very professional and the room was big enough for two and smack bang in the centre of town! The hotel itself is at the base of a very steep road so avoid if you struggle with steep walking. Up the hill from the hotel is newcastle Castle and cathedral, had no idea how much medieval buildings were in newcastle! The road the hotel is on has a Christopher Nolan style of Gotham City (see my pics) it was a great stay! If you want a really cheap drink and cheap food for kids I recommend Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery!

The inside no-window room is big. I was nervous about not having a window and my four day stay would have been better with a window. For a short stay, no window might not matter. Bathroom is updated, many towels, and includes hair dryer; there is internet TV plus news channels; comfortable bed but one bedside table only. No USB ports in the room so reception offers a converter unit with USB ports. No free coffee but the machine in the lobby is good value. Reception is 24 hours. The hallways are shabby. There is maid service. This is a basic and well functioning hotel. The big value is the location.

Stayed in Newcastle for one night along with a visiting cousin. It was good quality for a budget rate hotel. The room was basic but comfortable and very clean. The staff were accommodating and gave us a good suggestion for dinner as it was raining heavily and we didn’t want to go far. I’d certainly check out availability for these hotels when travelling and I rate them higher than Travelodge or Premier Inn!

I've stayed in a couple of easyHotels for cheap work/meeting overnighters, and to be honest this is the nicest one I've stayed at! The building looks nice from the outside, and it's at the bottom of a nice street in the city centre - quite a walk from the train or Metro stations, I'd say 15 mins at a brisk pace but still fairly easy to get to. Check in was swift and smooth, friendly helpful staff and nice clean reception area. Room initially had no toilet paper when I checked in but the receptionist was apologetic and gave me a handful of toilet rolls to take up(!). The room was about as basic as it gets - I paid the extra few quid for a window, but I needn't have bothered as it was so high up it was practically on the ceiling and was just an extra bit of light, to be honest. Certainly couldn't reach it to open, that's if it even did open. There was a bed, which was comfortable, and a desk, and a small TV, and that's really about it. Oh, and a basic but very clean bathroom. All in all, I wouldn't book this place for a romantic weekend getaway, but as a cheap place to lay your head between meetings or as a young traveller on a budget, you can't get much better for the unbelievably low midweek prices. Would stay again!

We usually stay at more cheaper hotels and have never had a hotel as terrible as this one! No service/wifi/ no access to anything to work phones etc, place was dirty, mold in bathroom (majorly allergic to mold as well) loads of dust ontop of shelf above bed (also majorly allergic to dust) shower wasn't working to the standard it should of (didn't stay at right temperature ) this was a really bad stay, could of ended up with a really bad allergic reaction to the mold and dust as much time out of the hotel as possible cause couldn't really do anything. Not a very welcoming room. Only good thing was the staff were nice and was in city centre but that was it, honestly will never stay here again!

I didn't stay in this hotel but was looking for a taxi rank as I'm not from the area and seen a receptionist outside this hotel who asked me if I required assistance and helped me locate a taxi and allowed me to stand inside while waiting for it. She was extremely kind and polite and informative.
