It was a decent size room which exceeded my expectations. The toilet sink however had some brown stuff coming from the drain which made me sick. I told management on checking out and they apologized and promised to get it fixed which was kind of them.

Another good stop here. Room large with good ensuite shower room with working toiletries. Bed large and comfortable with firm pillows. Good Parking with Greggs, Subway and Burger King next door. Staff pleasant and friendly as usual. Close to Newcastle, Gateshead and South Shields Only downside was half of lights did not work. Thanks

Great Staff, always welcoming & friendly, nothing too much trouble. Stayed for the Great North Run weekend, runners & spectators looked after very well, all needs concerning the run met making for a hassle free weekend.

This is not the most glamorous hotel on the planet, but is is clean, well priced and takes dogs. very handy for walking, especially the Bowes Railway. Nice pub opposite and there is a Greggs for breakfast. very comfortable room.

I am a smoker, I obeyed all the rules and only smoked outside of the whole complex next to my car or on the seats provided by the greggs, burger king and subway. I put my cigarette ends in the bin once extinguished properly. There were no places to extinguishe my cigarette ends provided by travelodge. The staff were very helpful but I did notice they were smoking out the rear of their office. Not vaping but actual cigarettes. We were on the first floor, so for me as a smoker I did do the walk up and down the stairs to smoke outside the building complex. Your staff couldn't be bothered to walk out of the reception area which is less than 25 metres to the front door to do so. Also our room did smell of urine when we arrived at 21.30 on Friday the 23/08/23, all the windows were wide open as if to dry or remove the smell in the room and it was cold. Once the heating was put on and windows closed the smell intensified over a hour or 2. Upon waking up you couldn't really smell it, but not sure if that's down to being used to it. Room was spotless very well cleaned, great pillows and very comfortable sleep. Not sure who stayed prior to our visit but did smell like a loo. I know the housekeepers do an amazing job of keeping the rooms as clean as possible, but that smell wasn't good. The smell was not a problem in the bathroom so we think it may be down to who stayed before and was not picked up. Maybe because you ask to much of them to clean rooms at pace? Overall we had a comfortable stay, room was spacious clean just that smell on arrival. Just a side note, my partner also works for travelodge, so this is not being spiteful just a reflection of what she does and is used to.…

Alway use this hotel as a family of four soon to be 5 and always have a very pleasant stay alway clean hotel and staff very welcoming and always on hand for anything you need! Also security has been recently stepped up again making it even better! 100% recommend

Stayed here again as close to family although clean the bathroom is in need of updating bath rusty and tap dripped all night bedroom feels tired .room above noisy late at night as floor creaked..staff pleasant on arrival and departure

Four of us stayed here for one night. We travelled from Suffolk for a football match and the stand out feature was without doubt the staff. They were so friendly, helpful and cheerful. On top of that the accommodation was tidy, roomy and comfortable; and I had a Greggs sausage roll for breakfast!! Thank you, you did us proud. Stuart from Ipswich....
