Very nice hotel, centrally placed for Eldon Square, the Grainger Market and plenty of bars and restaurants. Room was clean and well supplied with teas and coffee, toiletries and lovely big fluffy towels. The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and red hot! We had a couple of drinks in the bar when we got back from our evening meal at My Delhi (would highly recommend) and there was a good choice for a small bar. Fairly typical city centre prices but a nice end to the day.

Hotel was brilliant from start to finish. Location excellent, hotel staff had also written a welcome message to welcome us on our honeymoon. Room was spotless and spacious. Breakfast both days was fresh and enjoyable. Would happily stay again. Had dinner at the restaurant on site which was part of the deal, this was ok, the steak was very good. Starters and mains were basic.

Arrived and was checked into an already occupied room, this was dealt with very quickly and efficiently but still shouldn't have happened. The room itself was smallish but looked fine, apart from a large black square around the (recently replaced?) TV that hadn't been painted! Rooms have hard floors which look good but cause sound issues for neighbouring rooms if you have shoes on. Shower room good apart from part of the shower controls missing (screwheads showing). The major issue was that the bed was *very* firm, meaning an uncomfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was mostly fine, if limited in choice. Always pleased to see smoked salmon, but the scrambled eggs were less good and the bread choice was limited to cheap sliced white or brown. Bar area is nice, and the staff (reception, bar, breakfast) all very helpful. The overall quality of the hotel doe not really reflect the cost for a room on a Saturday night (£200+).

Hello DoctorToxic, Thanks for sharing feedback. We offer cozy rooms and modern business amenities. However, what you mentioned about being assigned an occupied room and for not being able to sleep well because of the bed made us miss the mark this time. I am sorry. Comments such as yours are valuable and relayed to the team to help point out areas needing additional attention. In line with this, do know that I sent an e-mail to further reach out to you. Despite the setbacks mentioned in your review, I hope you find your way back to us should your travels bring you again to the area for a chance to make your stay better than the last. Best, Ronald R. Stayed here recently ( Oct2021 ) for three nights but will not return. There was nothing special, the staff not inviting and welcoming, and when we had a concern they were totally disinterested. After the first night we advised that our room seemed to be between workers leaving their rooms between 6am and 9am... slamming doors and making lots of noise, whilst we were on a holiday break and did not want to be awake at such time. They advised that all rooms situated near ours had checked out and it would no longer be an issue, which we accepted not wanting to spend the following day looking for alternative accommodation. This however was not the case, so a quiet relaxing break was anything but. The hotel was not full and our trip was midweek. On check out nothing was mentioned about our stay, so we expect a note had already been made not to mention anything ?

Dear "Stay295639" Thank you for your review. I am sorry you felt that my colleague and myself were disinterested in your issue when you brought it to our attention. It is unfortunate you chose not to accept our offer of an alternative room, but as was explained the majority of the guests on the morning of your disturbance had in fact checked out however we could not guarantee any new arrivals would not be early risers. I will further train the team to ensure they are asking guests on departure how their stay was as this is an expectation, so thank you for bringing this to my attention. Kind Regards Alex C Front Office Manager

We stayed here for one night and the room was nice, clean and well appointed with toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. Water in the fridge (which we found as we left!) The bed is comfortable and there is plenty of storage space. The bathroom could do with a bit of TLC - a bit of mould around the shower and limescale build up in the toilet, which is a bit off-putting. There is a nice lounge with comfortable chairs and a bar (no Baileys!). The breakfast was disappointing in part as we ordered eggs to be cooked (fried and boiled) and these took so long to arrive that we had finished our breakfast by the time it did. Good choice of cereals and and fruit. The brown and white bread was standard sliced. For the price charged, a lot of hotels provide a greater selection of breads and rolls - the latter would have been nice to go with the cold meats and cheeses.
