I booked into the Hotel Indigo after a checking out early from their sister hotel, the Crown Plaza as I prefer to use hotel within IHG (group of hotels) and more than happy with my stay here The welcome was perfect and I was greeted as a Platinum member by a smiling lady called Nicola (if my memory serves me correct). Asked where I had travelled from and I provided a quick history including the issue with the Crown Plaza, she was surprised to hear my comment, but maintained a happy and welcoming demeanour, which immediately made me feel more relaxed and welcome My room was prefect and cool as the A/C had been on. The décor as in all Hotel Indigo's may not be to everyone's taste but it is fabulous and characterful. The room was immaculately clean with good soft/clean towels......Bed was perfect for sleeping with a variety of pillows to chose from The location is perfect for the Central Station, literally less than 2-3 minute flat walk and adjacent to the Old Assembly Rooms. The area may not favour all, but for myself as a seasoned traveller it was perfect. The breakfast provided a good hearty start for the rigours of the day with a good variety of soft/fresh fruits etc......I chose the Eggs Benedict which were top drawer, but please if you chose this, be mindful thy tried to use processed ham, which would not be my first choice (as it is usually served with Parma Ham or Bacon). That said, this is my only albeit minor fault I would raise I never dined in the Marco Pierre Restaurant, and could not possibly comment on this The staff are a bonus and I can only offer my thanks for a wonderful two night stay You will have my service again - Thank You :-)…
Booked a premium twin for one night, B&B. Not entirely sure what made it ‘premium’ it was pretty basic. Check-in is swift and friendly. Room was very clean and fortunately very quiet too. It kinda needs a refurb, lots of chipped paint etc but it’s comfy and the beds were fine. Breakfast was very good. Friendly service and quite a decent selection of hot foods to choose from, and served to you at your table rather than the usual crazy buffet start to the day. I liked it for the price, friendliness and location.
We were greeted by friendly reception staff who told us we were ‘Member of the Day’ and gave us a nice card and some wine. This was such a lovely start. The room was quite big, decorated with a modern feel and local artwork. It was very clean and had everything we needed for hot drinks (including biscuits) and a couple of small bottles of water. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. All of the staff we spoke to were really friendly and it felt like they couldn’t do enough for us. The breakfast service was a bit slow, but the restaurant was busy when we went down. There was a good range on offer and it was all refreshed regularly. The parking was straightforward (and we were able to leave the car for a few hours the next day) and it was a quick walk into he main shopping areas. We had a lovely time and wouldn’t hesitate to book the Hotel Indigo again. Thank you…
Really friendly helpful staff, room was pretty clean and bed was comfy. Good blackout curtains. Good gym (for a hotel) and nice bar area. Mostly good amenities in the room (hairdryer, tv connection to your phone to play music, tea & coffee plus biscuits, water in the fridge, iron) only issue was that the wall mounted Elemis toiletries were all empty and clearly no plans to replenish - instead upon asking we were given small bottles of a brand I didn’t recognise. So bring your own shampoo etc if you are fussy! Was actually surprising how quiet it was given we were 1st floor. I would stay again.
I was visiting Newcastle for a weekend and decided to book this hotel as I got a good deal for it through an agency and saw it was very convenient not just to the Central railway station but also for the Metro. I was checked in promptly by the lady at the desk (can't remember her name but she was excellent at her job). The only slight miscommunication that took place was when I first entered my room it looked nice and comfortable. But it was only when I went to use the washroom did I realise that they had accidentally given me a 'disabled access' room which made me feel a bit awkward I must admit. So I went down to reception and I was so happy when the same lady behind the desk changed my room to a standard room. Far as I'm aware it wasn't the fault of the hotel as there may have been a glitch in the system regarding the agency I booked it through. Far as my standard room went it was very comfortable, spacious and the hotel wifi always worked well for me as I did need it to get in contact with the people I was meeting in the city. But I am grateful they were able to do that for me. As for the location, despite it being in the city centre it wasn't noisy at all and there's a good chance I will stay at this hotel again should I return to Newcastle…
We really enjoyed our stay here prior to a cruise departing from Newcastle. We booked Dinner bed and breakfast and I was Impressed that I was called a few days in advance to reserve the time for my dinner reservation. All the service was excellent and friendly and the food for both dinner and and breakfast was very good. Our room was spotlessly clean and we were upgraded as IHG Gold members This is the third time we have stayed in an Indigo brand hotel and we have enjoyed each one.
The hotel room was really nice and was very clean. The staff were nice and friendly too. The bar area was nice and comfortable to sit in for a drink at night. The breakfast was lovely and had a wide variety of choice. Would definitely stay here again.
Having stayed in various other Hotel Indigo’s around the UK, I am bitterly disappointed In this one. Bedrooms were absolutely filthy, beds uncomfortable and breakfast cold and poor quality. This hotel is in need of a refurb and some TLC. I will not return.
3 nights & again did not disappoint. We’ve stayed before & upgraded to a balcony room this stay which offered additional space to soak up the Newcastle sunshine that was shining during the whole of our stay. This hotel offers a great location with friendly & attentive staff. The rooms are clean & bed comfy. Free items in fridge, including juice, water, Newcastle Ale & crisps. Also provide a well stocked hospitality tray. Bedrooms could do with a paint touch up but that’s to be expected with age. Great selection at breakfast which includes continental & cooked with great choice. Perfect hotel & location if you want to enjoy the city centre.
Stayed one night for work, this will now be my preferred hotel every 4 weeks. Quick check in Very quite considering in city center Less 5 mins walk from station Large room Desk, sockets, apps on tv Big bathroom Huge choice for breakfast Complimentary biscuits, drinks in room Nice evening meal
