The Travelodge Newcastle Cobalt Business Park is often praised for its cleanliness and comfortable rooms, with guests frequently commending the serene atmosphere and spotless facilities. The hotel's amenities, including comfortable beds and complimentary breakfast, earn rave reviews, as does the friendly service from attentive staff.
While some travelers find the rooms small and have noted occasional noise issues, many agree that the hotel offers good value for money. Although the location is great for business travelers, tourists might need a vehicle to get around.

This is an absolute cracking hotel smells new is absolutely immaculate .Reception area is spotless . Rooms are new bathrooms are all one piece walls so no more grime or dirty marks anywhere.
The staff are friendly and helpful nothing seemed to faze them so understanding and patient had slight problem with kids spilling water on main bed but sorted out rapidly with reception.
Don't go anywhere else but here might need to travel little further but it is a brand new hotel. Excellent customer service keep up your excellent work .

+1
This is one of the nicer Travelodge hotels that I’ve stayed in. It’s the modern type with the modern one-piece shower cubicle and fittings (no bathtubs, which is fine by me) and it’s definitely a lot more comfortable than the older style of Travelodges (particularly the old London ones, which are disgusting).
Size of the rooms are excellent, they are impeccably clean thanks to the cleaners Judit and Caitlin – I couldn’t find one speck of dust or dirt, even though I tried!
The only downside is that if you get Room 23 – request a room change immediately! This window banks onto the outside communal smoking area, and when there’s a bunch of drunken rowdy guests, the noise they create outside is unbearably loud and you can’t sleep through it.
However, the customer service from Laura was excellent. She had no problem changing rooms for me the next morning and I pretty much got to pick the room that I wanted, which faces the exterior car park away from the bar and the smoking area. I couldn’t be any happier with the service I received! And she seems to be on the desk 24/7 – that woman deserves a pay rise!
Overall, the tight knit customer service team, the cleaners and even the handyman (can’t remember his name) made staying here for four days very easy and enjoyable. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, especially at the low prices that I booked it for.

Staff were friendly. The hotel is new and the bed was comfortable and room was clean and quiet. The rate was exceptional. The only reason I have not given a five star review is because the room lacked facilities which I thought were essential even in a low budget hotel. Shelves and/or drawers.!! The toilet seat is a very tight fit and obese people would struggle to get into the space. The shower gel was very cheap and didn't add anything to cleanliness of the body. Other than that it was good. The staff were very helpful.

I stayed at this newly built Travelodge last Sunday and found it perfect. It was spotlessly clean and everything was new of course. Air-conditioning rather than the usual electric wall heater was unusual for this price range. An excellent and really powerful shower. Free parking on-site. Easily reached from the Tyne Tunnel and major trunk roads, it's a good base for exploring the region, coast and countryside or for local business meetings. Being far enough away from the city centre to deter hen & stag parties, there was no troublesome noise and mess from the drunken revellers that I've experienced elsewhere.

The Hotel is pristine, only opened back in November 2021 and its been looked after.
The room was extremely quiet with good walls, didn't hear anyone else banging and walking around like in other travelodge's!
The shower is quite possibly, the best shower I have ever had. Really powerful and just what I needed after the drive from Birmingham.
If I'm back up this way I will definitely be booking here again.

I felt at home here. Excellent service! Very conveniently located. All the staff were very friendly and got my room cleaned or topped up with fresh towels, coffee/tea whenever requested. Very quiet. Conveniently located for Silverlink Retail Park.

This hotel ought to be better - the building is new and everything looks very smart but it just seems quite disorganized. Nothing was bad but a lot of things were not as good as they should be.
Once we had attracted the attention of the person who was supposed to be manning the desk, we checked in and were directed to the wrong wing of the hotel for our room. Once we had found the right wing, our room was right at the end of it so we had walked the whole length of the hotel to find it.
One of our card keys didn't work so we had to get it replaced.
The room was smart but there was no shower mat, no cups for water and no decaf tea on offer. The shower itself was excellent with plenty of hot water and pressure.
It was a bit unclear whether there was a room make up service - seemed to only be a top up the drinks and replace the towels service if you put the card out.
Breakfast was OK but there was no decaf coffee from the machine and no decaf tea on offer. On the second morning the coffee machine had a fault that needed clearing and there was a shortage of various items including fruit yogurts and croissants.
We wouldn't stay there again - there are two similarly priced options nearby so we would go for one of those next time.

Cobalt Park Travelodge is situated on business park mid way between Newcastle Upon Tyne City centre and the coast. It has ample free car parking. I arrived by public transport from Northumberland Park Metro station which was a 30 min walk away along a disused railway. I also used the 390 bus from Haymarket bus station about 40 mins. The bus stops outside a Tesco Metro usefull to buy forgotten toiletries etc also has an atm. it's about 200 m from the hotel.
The Travelodge itself is a brand new purpose built hotel in pristine condition. It has the usual minimalist Cafe bar which also serves a cooked buffet breakfast.
I stayed 2 nights on a walking/sightseeing/ football away trip. All the staff I met were friendly, engaging and helpful. I visited Alnmouth & Alnwick up in Northumberland, Newcastle City centre and Sunderlands Stadium of Light using the hotel as a base. Nearby Tynemouth is worth a visit.
On my visit the hotel offered tremendous value for money as per the title it really is one of the best budget hotels I've stayed in.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The staff were very pleasant and friendly throughout our visit. Our Assistance Dogs were made very welcome and staff were respectful of them when they were working.
We stayed in a double accessible room on the ground floor which was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for our powered wheelchairs and enough power sockets to charge them over night. The bathroom was a wet room style with handrails and a shower seat which was great.
The buffet breakfast served was plentiful, fresh and hot. The hotel was very quiet at night and a big advantage for us was the free parking with no height restrictions, suitable for our large wheelchair accessible van which we often struggle to find.
