Myself and two others in my party had Afternoon Tea in the Brasserie, upstairs in the hotel. Tessie, our server, was so helpful! She asked for each of our names and referred to us by them throughout the course of the meal, which I though was a very intimate and nice touch. Tessie made sure all our dietary requirements were adhered to and was so accommodating when I opted for non-alcholic drinks. Tessie checked on us regularly and made sure we were happy throughout. The Mal Afternoon Tea was lovely - a nice twist on your traditional afternoon tea. The food was great and the drinks lovely. Overall, an lovely visit to the Hotel Brasserie!
I booked a standard double through booking.com for my wife & I the night before we departed for Amsterdam. We arrived at about 5pm, the hotel is a 15 minute downhill walk from the central Metro station. On arrival the reception staff upgraded us to a suite, free of charge and unsolicited - the suite on the 7th floor was lovely. There was a separate lounge with Tv, a large bathroom with both bath and shower and a large bedroom (with another TV). There was a hair dryer, iron, ironing board and tea making facilities. The view from our bedroom was across the Tyne river and the famous Tyne bridge (see picture). Breakfast the next day cost about £18 and was a very nice full English (only complaint was no baked beans).. Having stayed in a few Malmaison hotels this is just what I expected and why I booked them.. We will be back..…
Love this hotel. The location, the view, the food, the cocktails and the brilliant staff. Massive thank you to Tessie and Rhys. An absolute credit to the Hotel. Staff like them are hard to come by, they clearly love being there. They made our stay comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommended.
We stayed in the top room in the hotel and wow it is impressive! Such a special space to stay for special occasions and a must-see view of the Quayside. The food is beautiful and by far exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend it.
Booked a club room for our stay and couldn’t fault the room was really spacious, had a different breakfast every morning and they were all good we stayed three days also thanks to Rhys and Tessie for making us feel so welcome and giving us so much information on what we could do on our stay. The hotel is situated in a lovely part of the city if your fit to walk up the hill but a taxis takes you there in 10 minutes
