We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in May 22, the staff were all very helpful, great location, very comfy beds, fab breakfast, but I have to give a very special mention to Scotty who was working in the restaurant at breakfast. What a guy, he went above and beyond, so friendly and helpful and he even left the hotel to purchase some green tea for me as they had run out. Like I said, what a guy. We'll definitely be back and will be looking out for Scotty👍👍😊
Located 5 to 10 minutes walk from Newcastle Central railway station. Good, clean hotel. Comfortable, clean, well equipped rooms, with great beds! 10/10 for comfort, as well as nice duvets and pillows. We had a couple of dinners at the hotel which were ok. Breakfasts not so good. Pale, lumpy scrambled eggs and were those really mushrooms? Breakfast hot food was barely off cold, but it's edible. Lounge and bar a bit bland, not helped by large TV screens, but at least they were muted. Yes, I would definitely use this hotel if ever returning to Newcastle. Over all, it gets a "very good" from me.
This was the first time that I’ve stayed in a 4* hotel on business and it was a clear step up from other hotels I’ve used in the past. The reception and eating areas are nice, the rooms are a bit bigger and a bit more plush. The food was a real high, all very good. And the service at reception was friendly. But there is no getting away from the fact that the place feels a bit worn out. The toilet in my room had a running flush when I arrived which had clearly been going all afternoon. Reception told me to give it a sharp shove and that switched it off and I didn’t need to change rooms (it worked ok after that). I also tried to use the iron in the room which was small, covered in lime scale and dripped. Finally one of the three lifts was out of order because a guest had done it in the day before. So I would gladly stay there again but the fabric needs a bit of love (and money) from the owners.…
Visited this hotel for afternoon tea prior to a visit to see a friend elsewhere. Both my wife and myself were impressed with the staffs attitude, from the moment we entered the hotel until we were taken to our table. Afternoon tea was beautifully served and despite my food allergies nothing was too much trouble for the staff. This was a case of "Service Personified". Well done to all staff.
I was given afternoon tea for two, with prosecco, as a gift from my son . Disappointed as the place was full of noisy stag and hen parties checking in. My friend and I could hardly here each other speak. Will not be going back
