Room was lovely and clean. Amazing staff very friendly and hospitable. The bar was very busy and noisy in the afternoon but nice in the evening after a night at the theatre. Thank you to Sam on the bar downstairs for the amazing pornstar and espresso martinis.

For my husbands 70th birthday we chose to stay for 3 nights at the Maldron Hotel in Newcastle with friends. This was our 3rd time staying here and previously have had no trouble at all and always had a very enjoyable stay. This year we were in room 207, unfortunately for us it was next to the stag revellers. During the night drunken guests started pounding the door opposite ours and were playing loud music, talking loudly in the hallway and slamming and knocking on each others doors. This went on till 5.45 am resulting in an awful, almost sleepless night, even after night staff did visit the room and warned them to keep the noise down it still continued. I do realise that although the abysmal behaviour of some guests is not the hotel's fault maybe when booking stag and hen parties they should all be accommodated on the lower floors. In the morning I approached reception and spoke to Jodie who was very sympathetic to our complaint and asked us to speak to the Duty Manager, when my husband informed him of the excessive noise the previous night, his explanation was that it could have been the umbrellas outside causing the noise or possibly students, I personally felt he was disrespectful and not in the least interested in our complaint. We spoke to Jodie after breakfast and she organised a room move to a higher floor, as we were going out for the day housekeeping staff took our cases to our room. On return to hotel our room 445 keys were ready and everything organised. Shout out to Jodie at Reception for her professionalism in dealing with our complaint, her incredible hard work and dedication made us feel super special also shout out to Linda from Housekeeping you both made the rest of our stay very enjoyable. I would just like to say that this experience has not put us off returning. Diane Neil

I would return to the Maldron again, the customer care given was excellent. especially Victoria who went above and beyond to help us with everything. The restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient in serving us. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. I definitely will return to this hotel in future as my daughter is attending university in Newcastle. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for hotel staff.

Me and my husband stayed Saturday after dropping our daughter off for University, and the hotel was a perfect fit. Really good location, even better than our daughters accommodation! The lady who checked us in was pleasant despite how busy their desk was. Rooms were above the standard of hotels we have stayed in before, and we felt they were reflective of the price and advertisement. What rounded off our trip was the bar! Lovely area to relax in at the end of the night, and Sam on the bar helped give us some great advice to pass onto our daughter! He ended up giving his own little talk to a couple of the parents who happened to be all at the bar at once after dropping their children off that day! When coming to visit my daughter, this will be the first hotel I look to book!

Excellent hotel. Best thing about it is the staff. Checkout staff incredibly pleasant and welcoming. Food good and discount for runners was very generous. In summary hotel is great, but it’s the staff that make it.

Hotel was comfortable and clean. Most staff were friendly and helpful with one exception. I had a scary experience when I was stuck in one of the lifts for about 20 minutes and a lot of the time was in the dark as lights went out. In spite of banging and pressing alarm nobody came and eventually doors opened by themselves. I spoke to male on reception who made me feel like an idiot asking for my key card and showing how you tapped to go up. He wouldn’t listen when I said I was going down and even so had tried tapping anyway. He got angry and I left. The next morning I reported it to the girl on reception. What a difference. Steph could not have been nicer or more sympathetic. Every time we saw her she asked how I was and gave us complimentary drinks at dinner. She deserves credit for her reaction. The food was very good with plenty of choice. Rooms were spacious but could do with more places to store clothes. I woukd stay here again.
