Hotel's Favourite
With a daughter at the university here, we have become regulars for family drop off and pick up. We try to stay at The Staybridge Suites whenever possible; it’s wonderfully comfortable, decently priced, conveniently located and with an outstanding staff who make it a real home from home. Our recent stay was excellent, as always. From the ‘welcome back’ on our arrival to the moment we left, we felt incredibly well cared for. A particular vote of thanks must go to Jason and Stephanie who solved a tricky problem for us, truly going the extra mile with kindness and helpfulness. They are a credit to the hotel, which must be delighted to have such professional staff. It’s very easy to run out of superlatives when reviewing this property and we are eagerly anticipating our next visit in August! Thank you again.…

The rooms are lovely and spacious, well equipped kitchen, and great views from the window of the quayside and Newcastle. Parking is convenient and safe. Breakfast is good. 4 stars as mold on the shower screen on the door seal. Could be quite easily removed and there was an odd smell, like burning in the room. Couldn't work out what it was.

Thank you do much for your review, I am sorry about your shower screen, these are removed and cleaned on a periodic basis. We are also having a large refurbishment in 2024 where these will all be replaced. I do hope it didn't impact your stay too much and thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Travelled to Newcastle as a family of four with a husband who is visually impaired and a 4 and 6 year old. Super parking and organization when we arrived. Check in was 3pm so we went into Newcastle City Centre. The centre is only about 15 min walk away and there is plenty to do. After checking in went to the room absolutely wonderful. Beautifully spacious with a wonderful kitchen, living area and bathroom. Although the complex does not have a bar or restaurant we were informed that we could join social hour and go down between 6pm-8pm for free drinks and nibbles which was wonderful. Outside of these hours you can also access hot drinks and water in the lounge whenever you like. Nothing was too much for staff, they were always friendly, approachable and engaging with our children. Staybridge suites newcastle have provided such a service we would be happy to travel to newcastle just to receive their hospitality. Thank you Staybridge Suites Newcastle!…

Complementary breakfast Lovely staff Clean rooms What’s not to love? We stayed in this hotel as it was close to the city centre and had a kitchenette- travelling with kids, this is always handy. Free teas, coffee and water was very much appreciated Small gym but always quiet Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here and will definitely be back. First time in a Staybridge Suite and won't be the last. Good location but be aware if a wheelchair user it is quite a steep wander down to and back from the waterfront area. Fine for us with a power wheelchair user. Went to the coast on the metro which is just around the corner from the hotel. Accessible parkingbis available at the hotel. We enjoyed the social evening gathering with wine and cheese. Staff - every single person was do friendly, helpful and understanding. Nothing was ever too much trouble and everyone was really lovely. We had a trundle bed in the accessible room as a party of 3 as our son requires 2 carers, still enough room for using our hoist. Wet room was massive, only improvement for us in this area was to have non slip flooring. Overall a brilliant place to stay and we'd recommend and return ourselves.…

One of the most friendly and accommodating places I have stayed in. From the welcome to the cheerio every one of the hotel team were ace. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Combine that with modern, clean and warm rooms,including en-suite and full kitchen facilities, it makes it a superb place to stay. The breakfast offering had a great selection of hot and cold options although some of the hot breakfast items under the heat lamps were a bit lacking in warmth but that's a tad nit picking tbh. Close to the Glasshouse for concerts and the university for visits etc, 10 minutes to the city centre (although I did not like the route over the motorway bridge...a bit dark and foreboding) the location is really good. They do have a single EV 7kw charger, which unfortunately was not working during my visit, or access to 13 amp sockets to use your slower granny charger. They even said they were free to use. Parking is £12 per day. Would I stay again...you bet.…

This is a nice hotel in a very depressing location. If you're driving, that probably won't bother you. My room was comfortable and clean, as was the whole hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was equipped for long-term stays, with an iron, ironing board, kitchen, dishwasher and more. The breakfasts were excellent. My only dislike was the inability to open the window. I feel suffocated in places where I cannot open the window. However, the neighbourhood is depressing. There's nothing much there except a lot of student residences. I guess Newcastle was trying to make the Quayside area a sort of local Canary Wharf, but it doesn't seem to have taken off and it's mostly deserted. The only shops are few convenience stores/off-licenses, each surrounded by its circle of wheezing drunks and junkies. To get to the city, you have to find your way over a motorway, via various 1960s walkways stinking of urine and covered with litter. None of that is the fault of the hotel, of course, but just be prepared for the unhappy surroundings…

Amazing welcome and our dog was so welcomed. The little gifts in the room for him made the stay even more special. The staff are incredible and can’t do enough for you loved the great north run gift pack. Definitely be back.

Super friendly, helpful staff - as always. We stayed forthe Great North Run weekend. Really convenient location for the kids races at the quayside and close to town, but quiet at night. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, especially at breakfast. Hoping to be back next year.
