A friend and I stayed at the Hotel and participated in the South African Wine Dinner which was amazing. The room was exceptionally clean and the giant bath was a perfect touch. The food along with the wine pairing and hospitality was 10/10. Beautiful location on Newcastles Quayside, we can’t wait to go back.

We stayed at Hotel du Vin Newcastle for my wife’s birthday treat and were very happy with the whole experience from the moment we arrived! Andy and his team looked after us so well in their stunning hotel. We stayed in the bridge view suite which was a very special room, with some lovely features. All topped off with a nice piping hot cooked breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Amazing staff and service from start to finish! Greeted with the most friendly reception staff (Gary and another, sorry I forgot) who made a massive fuss over us for our birthday, thank you so much Gary! We also had Sunday lunch which was amazing! Highly recommend.

Without a doubt, one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. I hired a room for an event (The shipyard) and then we stayed in one of the rooms. The entire hotel is beautiful, cosy and has such a romantic elegant feeling. The night of the event, we had Luke who was absolutely brilliant. He couldn't do enough for us to ensure our night ran smoothly. Thanks Luke. We stayed in a deluxe double - it was clean, comfy and with a bath in the room what more do you need. I will 100% be returning to this hotel. Every member of staff we met were lovely. Highly recommend.

I attended the Burn's Night with a friend on Thursday 25th January at HdV Newcastle. As cigar smokers we were happy in the cigar shack and were waited on with drinks and pre meal appetisers were served to us with whisky based cocktails as we smoked our cubans. The rest of the evening was simply wonderful. We were hosted by Andrew and Sean from HdV and our guest speaker for the evening Mike who talked us through our drams and read out some mandatory poetry for the evening. The evening was set in a private room which made for a pleasant, intimate environment of about 10 of us in total. The service and food was exceptional. Could I recommend this to others....no. Please do not attend these functions as they may have to turn me down in the future due to capacity and I simply cannot have that! All my very best to the Team there. Will be seeing you soon! Tony

I was searching for a hotel that would do justice to a wedding anniversary and Hotel Du Vin proved to be the perfect choice. It's a conversion of Steam Ship offices which has been done very tastefully and no expense spared. The staff were all very friendly. There is a small hotel car park (drive slowly otherwise you will miss the turning!) I booked a junior suite but although I had not mentioned the reason for my stay we found that we had been upgraded. A suite on two levels with his and hers roll top baths and an enormous bed. There was an impressive cocktail bar and an excellent restaurant with access to a courtyard and tables which would be great when the weather was warmer. It is a short walk down to the quayside. There is a bus stop outside with a 20 min bus service (Q3) to the central Newcastle Bus Station otherwise It is a very pleasant walk along the quay to the swing bridge which is pretty well central riverwise for Newcastle. It is right on top of the Victoria Tunnel which offers tours if you like that sort of thing. We also enjoyed going to Laing Art Gallery. Finally as its name suggests they are strong on wine and even have a dedicated room for wine tasting. We really enjoyed the house Malbec.

Outstanding hotel with the best of welcomes! We had a stay in the Cristal Suite for our anniversary weekend. The room was magical, service phenomenal and champagne cocktails second to none. Our breakfast was divine and the care and attention paid to make us feel special was very much appreciated. Thanks to all the staff! Can’t wait for our return trip next year!

To give the backstory - we were let down by our original wedding venue 17 days before we were due to get married. We came into the hotel to see if by any miracle the Bistro was available to hire. The Gods were shining down on us and it was! We spoke with Gary the weekend Duty Manager and immediately he set to saving our day. He messaged Shauna (on her day off) to confirm we could have the Bistro. Gary kept in touch with us all weekend and arranged for Shauna from the Events Team to meet with us on Monday. Gary was incredibly warm and instantly reassured us that everything was going to be okay. Gary continued to go above and beyond for the duration of our wedding. Shauna seamlessly blends the high-end expectations of Hotel Du Vin with the most genuine warmth and her personal qualities. As a Bride, I felt comfortable and safe in the knowledge that every aspect on my wedding would be utterly perfect. She communicated clearly, efficiently and promptly from our initial booking enquiry up to (and including) our wedding day. Nothing was too much trouble and no amount of amendments to plans phased her! I have myself worked in customer service for many years, so I know how hard people in hospitality work and I can also recognise when staff go the extra mile. We live in a world where people leave 'bad reviews' and complain so frequently - many times unnecessarily. I personally believe that it is important that hard work and exceptional high standards of service are acknowledged. Shauna is a credit and a valuable asset to Hotel Du Vin and they ought to keep tight hold of her! In an era of automation and less humanity - Shauna and everyone at Hotel Du Vin are utterly awesome.
