Just got back from yet another fabulous stay at , what must literally be THE hotel in Newcastle to stay. If you are someone who likes the finer things in life then look no further than Hotel du vin, Newcastle. Here you get the attention to detail that you would expect , but don’t often get from a high class five star hotel ( why this hotel is not five star never ceases to amaze me ??? ) Well ! you DO get it here . Everything is quality and class. So many rooms are different from the next so no matter how many times you stay, you get a different experience to enjoy. The food we had in the Bistro was outstanding, piping hot, amazing quality and absolutely delicious!Well done chef ! We were fortunate enough to have Adam serve us and talk us though the menu, he was naturally friendly , engaging and attentive , great to see in a staff member ! Also the team at breakfast were amazing ( sorry don’t have your names) A big shout out to Andy, the hotel manager, who always goes above and beyond his role to ensure we have the most memorable stay. He is always available to speak to and ensure everyone is well looked after. It’s refreshing to see such a hands on manager . He clearly leads by example for the rest of the staff team and influences their work ethic. Ultimately, creating a staff team who are dedicated and work hard to maintain the high accolades the hotel, as a whole deserves. Housekeeping, as always is fabulous! The rooms and the hotel as a whole, is absolutely spotless ! It cannot be easy to maintain, to such a high standard. They do a fantastic job in presenting the hotel in the best light! So, overall, if you are looking for somewhere in Newcastle ti stay that will exceed all your expectations, then, this is the one ! I cannot recommend it enough! We will see you all very soon ! Stayed in Mouton Rothschild 5.2.2023…
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we had nothing but great experiences at Hotel Du Vin. I would love to take this opportunity to thank Suzy, what a wonderful member of the team she is. Upon arrival Suzy asked if me and my partner if were celebrating anything nice, I said it was our anniversary and within a short amount of time we were given our room keys and pleasantly surprised to a bottle of complimentary champagne in our room. We stayed in the Catena room which was superb, with views of the millennium bridge. We would 100% book again!
The most wonderful experience from start to finish. My boyfriend had organised a stay in the Thierry Lombard suite for my 30th birthday. Suzy and her team did a wonderful job with decorating the room and were extremely accommodating to requests prior to check in (alcohol free champagne due to being pregnant, etc). The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, with everything you could want. Good selection of hot and cold breakfast items, with excellent customer service from Tino. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he took the time to show us round the wine tasting room which was lovely. We would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone else looking for a similar experience for a special occasion or celebration - it was truly perfect.
Thought I would try something new visiting for business this time and what a stay it was. Stunningly beautiful hotel, love the fact it’s a repurposed historic building so close to the river. The room was also fantastic and the bed was very comfortable. The bar area was very quaint but I didn’t take the time to enjoy this. But next time I certainly will be staying longer also may have to treat my wife to a night away. All your staff were brilliant and went above and beyond any service I’ve had before , especially Alex and tino on breakfast who’s service and friendly demeanour shone through both were very polite. I especially like the touch been offered to have my toast and coffee made for me. Food was excellent complements to the chef.
We returned to HdV Newcastle over the weekend and once again got terrific service from start to finish from everyone we met. The team here deliver outstanding service consistently and it’s an absolute pleasure coming to visit. We can’t wait to come back!
Luke hosted a fabulous wine evening- his knowledge, explanations and enthusiasm shone through this event. His energy is infectious and he had the room enthralled and entertained at the same time Food and wine also amazing and perfectly paired thanks to Luke and Chef. Shaun and Ian helped make the evening one where we received lovely customer service from arrival to departure - we will be back !
- [ ] We had a lovely dinner before a Christmas concert at Sage in December, very convenient location as you can just walk across the Millennium Bridge. The staff are exemplary, particularly Andy and Kem who were very kind to arrange us having the Chateaubriand menu on a Saturday. The food was great and the atmosphere at the restaurant is intimate and cozy. We collect wine labels and want to thank the team for keeping the Hotel du Vin Argentinian malbec bottle for us, and to Andy for giving us a full bottle when we came back three weeks later to pick it up (because we were travelling!). Would definitely recommend!
Absolutely lovely staff. Super kind and ready to help. Very nice food and our junior suit room was stunning with gorgeous river view. Super dog friendly as well. Thank you so much! Will recommend it a 1000 times!
We booked into the restaurant for Christmas lunch. What a wonderful experience! The staff and service were excellent and really made the effort to engage with all the guests even though the restaurant was full and it was a busy service. The food was really delicious and great value for money! This is our second Christmas Day at Hotel du Vin and we will be back for sure.
My wife and I sometimes travel to Newcastle to see friends and relatives and since staying at the Hotel Du Vin a few years ago we have never stayed anywhere else. The rooms are very good, the breakfasts and dinners re excellent. The location is next to the Tyne and not far from the city centre. We have no reason to go anywhere else.
