A really first class hotel with service to match. Wonderful room, beautifully kitted out. Comfy bed, cool hotel bar, bath and lovely unctions etc; breakfast first rate and they take dogs very happily. Plus the position is fab. Lovely views of the river and the chance to walk your dogs along it. Easy parking.. full marks, especially to the staff.. we got a very handy deal staying over on a Sunday evening..

Lovely old building brought back to life with a modern touch. The main yard outside is a great first impression of what will be inside ,spotless classy attention to detail .Lovely helpful staff ,service on entry and very tasteful at first glance. Once in and on the walk to the room the place has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and was warm and cosy with lovely Xmas decorations. The bar was smart and well kept with a great selection of drinks. The bar staff were very professional and polite . The deluxe room we had did not disappoint and again like the lobby was a lovely mix of modern and old . The shower and roll top bath are a winner. One thing that was my fault but let our stay down was the offer of an upgrade sent via e-mail . I didn’t read the small print . I thought if I accepted the offer then it was a done deal but the e-mail stated the upgrade would only apply if a room was available on arrival . As an improvement idea it may be better to make this a solid offer and not a changeable offer if someone takes the upgrade room last minute ?.

Thank you for your review and some very kind comments about your stay and the hotel. I understand your point regarding offers of upgrades but this can only really be offered on the day as there will be more bookings come in. We will always ask at reception if we have opportunity. I would always suggest booking the room type you want as to avoid disappointment. Look forward to seeing you again soon. Andy
