What a find. My self & my wife booked the holiday cottage round the corner & the management were good enough to let us use their car park. We visited for lunch which was great & decided to return for an evening meal the next day. Really great traditional pub grub. I had the steak & ale pie & my wife enjoyed a goats cheese pizza. The HPA was kept to perfection. A great find & superb location for Ironbridge & its local attractions. We are looking forward to returning next spring.

A fabulous old traditional pub with delicious pub grub, highly recommend the light bite ham egg & chips for lunch. The newly refurbished b&b rooms are lovely. Real fires in the pub help to make the whole place cosy & welcoming. What a hidden gem of a place.

We did not stay in this pub but with did visit it on several occasions during our stay for The World War 2 weekend and had meals and drinks. The beer was well kept and made for a lovely pint. The food was awesome pub grub. My friend had fish and chips and he can not remember having better fish and chips anywhere he was very impressed as we all were with the quality of the food. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I can not recommend a visit to this pub highly enough it will not disappoint

Stayed in the “self contained” flat 30/04/2023 for a relaxing break. Room was not cleaned to post Covid requirements (used coffee pod in coffee machine, used dental flosser on floor of bathroom). Frequent noise from the pub toilets heard in the flat. WiFi not working, but kept being told it’s fine, and we could use their one in the bar area (not convenient for working and having a relaxing stay). Loud voices in the courtyard directly under the bedroom window before 08:30 on both Sunday and bank holiday Monday mornings (before pub opening times). Trudy was very rude, just kept saying a voice Mail had been left & refusing to accept responsibility for the issues experienced. Will definitely not recommend staying here.

They love dogs in this pub. A happy place with a good mix of locals. I particularly liked the 'old soak' drinking wine at the bar. Good real ale but very poor food. Great to see local partridge on the menu but it was poorly cooked. Smoked haddock gratin was insipid, meagre and decidedly lacking in fish!

We stayed at the Golden Ball Inn for 2 nights and really enjoyed our time there, happy to be able to bring our dog too. We were given a very warm welcome, and shown to our room which was large and spotlessly clean. The front courtyard has a great atmosphere for drinks in the evening, inside is warm and cosy. The back garden has a relaxed feel to it too - so plenty of options for enjoying the pub. The food was delicious - we dined there on the first night, and enjoyed the generous breakfast which was included in our stay. Vegetarian options too, thank you. We were also were able to walk easily to all the sights in Ironbridge. I would highly recommend the Golden Ball - for accommodation and as an excellent, friendly pub. Thank you to the lovely team - we hope to visit again.

Called into 'The Golden Bal'l after a long walk and a very steep climb up' Newbridge Road'. Jake the dog was welcomed and the beer was good and staff friendly. Nice pub and experience. I recommend it.

The location of The Golden Ball Inn is in a really picturesque location, in a small village just above Ironbridge and offers a nice location to be away from the hustle of the town itself but still be within walking distance. Be wary of the very winding road that leads to the hotel though and the spiral type stairs to rooms 1-3, which does make getting a large suitcase up and down a little challenging. We were staying here on our way back from our holiday, to break up our long journey home and to take in the sights of Ironbridge and the Blists Hill Victoria Village. The staff were friendly and polite and the food was very nice. We ate outside on two occasions, the first was a very good experience, the food was well cooked and came quickly, although we missed dessert as the kitchen closed earlier than we expected, unfortunately the second time was a 30 minute wait before we even ordered a drink and the food was slow to follow. There did not seem to be enough staff on for the number of patrons. Our room decoration was a little tired and could do with some updating but having said that, our stay was very pleasant and our dog was welcome in all parts of the venue and the beds and linen were comfortable and clean. We would recommend staying here if you would like good value for money with a really lovely location to base yourself. The staff were friendly and accommodating of any requests we made. Bearing all this in mind, it is an 18th century inn and full of character throughout. A nice outdoor space to the front and a nice garden area to the rear. Breakfast area was clean and well laid out and the food was really good. Worth the cost for B&B in such a lovely location.

Just spent a long weekend with them and it was splendid. Friendly welcome, bright comfortable room, marvellous breakfast with real coffee, spectacular location and a great selection of bar meals, we had the full Sunday lunch and it was huge with all the trimmings. Nice outdoor space. Wouldn't hesitate to go again. Congratulations Sophie and crew Kate and Stuart

Last minute booking and we were pleasantly surprised... the golden ball is a quaint Inn, spotlessly clean and the room was immaculate... We didn't eat here but will definitely sample the food next time. Totally enjoyed our stay here and the peace and quiet was just what the Dr ordered
