Late availability booking -so surprised when we got a four poster bed. Room very clean and immaculate, staff welcome excellent and very attentive made us feel instantly welcome and they were very helpful booking a taxi etc. I would certainly stay here again. Felt away from it all even though hotel is not far from city centre, building is beautiful with lots of features and character; real fires in seating areas and bar very welcoming on a cold and drizzly day.

We have just spent an amazing 3 days at Whitley Hall Hotel celebrating a family wedding. Extremely helpful staff all who couldn’t do enough to make us welcome, The food was amazing. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend. The cosy fire and watching the peacocks wandering around the grounds gave a lovely atmosphere.

We visited during Covid and so expected that the room would be very clean. How wrong we were! The desk chair was grimy and so was the headboard. The duvet was paper thin and looked very worn. The carpet was rucked and dirty. We needed Wi-Fi as my daughter was returning to Canada the next day and had to confirm that her covid test was negative. We were unable to get a signal and that also meant no smart tv programmes or netflix. The reception desk was un-helpful and could do nothing. We spent a very restless night feeling everything was dirty and no facilities. The following day, 11/10/21 I complained to the manager on duty. I was told that the Hotel manager would call me the next. No call back Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday or Sunday!! I gave up. I would NEVER EVER stay at that Hotel again. It cost £126 without breakfast and made my skin crawl. Our room in no way reflected any of the rooms photographed on line. perhaps we got the worst room-but the service was also deplorable with a care not attitude. At the prices they charge customers have the right to expect better and at the very least a CLEAN room!! enough said!
