We stayed at the Dean Court on Saturday 16th/Sunday 17th October for a weekend break. From the second week arrived, we were greeted by courteous, friendly staff. Our room faced directly opposite the Green and was most quiet, despite the Minster bells!! The hotel is so close to the city centre - mere yards, away!! Sadly, the restaurant was not open. However, there is an abundance of eateries in York to satisfy every diet! Sunday morning was just bliss! Breakfast was served in the restaurant area. It arrived within minutes of ordering and was substantial and delicious. Throughout our stay, every member of staff we encountered were polite, professional and yet friendly. We are already planning a return visit. We highly recommend Dean Court Hotel.

Hotel's Favourite
What a lovely base to explore York! The staff are superb ( special shout out to Alessandra, Tanya ( who helped me pre-check in) and the wonderful night watch man Derek, who was informative, friendly and helpful- thanks to him, I now know that the Inn Collection group have more hotels "oop north" f or when we come back next year. Absolutely LOVE the accessible room (2)that we have, with gadgets galore Inc Air con and an electric slidey atrium thing, as well as the best thought out wet room I have seen in some considerable time. Mostly "accessible " rooms appear to be an add-on, with little thought about the decor and homeliness.. this has been a pure joyous haven of luxury to come back to after exploring the city during a hot September day! Love the hotel, will definitely be back! And now will also be looking at other hotels in this collection. The Inn Collection- be proud of your staff - they are brilliant and they made our stay!

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife Sat 16th Oct and Sun 17th Oct. We have stayed in this hotel before. It is a great hotel for location, next to York Minster with everything else being in walking distance. just as our previous visit we found the staff to be brilliant, the room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was great. If/when we return to York we will stay here again. In fact whenever we return to York this will be our hotel of choice. Thanks to all the staff for another great stay

From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome. Frank made us feel so at home and settled with a brilliant greeting and tour of the facilities. Himself and Frederico were instrumentally incredible in helping us get our car charged after we arrived with the wrong cable! David was warm and friendly on our last night and more than happy to help on our departure day. All three gentlemen are a credit to this hotel and are the reason we would definitely chose to stay here again if we visit York in the future. The best service we have received in a hotel, as well as a beautiful room with an incredible shower!! Lovely touch with water and soft drinks in the fridge. Honestly couldn’t fault anything at this hotel, or any of the staff, including three ladies we met at Reception! Incredible location, right next to the Minster and perfectly central for all shopping, eating and walking the walls!

We came to York for a long weekend to explore the city and its surrounds. Firstly, the postcode given took us to the back of the Minster, in sight of the hotel but with no way of getting there! We called the hotel and they gave us directions to get there- use the street name and not the postcode if arriving by car! We had to park on yellow lines whilst we checked in but our car was taken away to the nearby car park with no issues. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful, our room was at the front of the Hotel which is opposite to a taxi rank so there is always traffic and people coming and going. The room was spacious and clean with tea, coffee and water provided, the bathroom was ok but the shower was a bit weak and it took some time to flush the toilet. The main issue was the noise from the room at night with noisy revellers into the early hours- we could have closed the window and put the provided fan on, but that was just as noisy! We did consider asking for a room to the rear, but this also faces onto a road with bars and restaurants so we would have been in pretty much the same position! This is the downside of being in such a prominent position in the city. The hotel could clearly benefit from a few improvements such as double/ triple glazing and air conditioning to resolve the noise issues. The restaurant was closed during our stay although it did open to serve breakfast which was included in our room rate, this was a good start to the day with several options to choose from and served to the table rather than the pre Covid, help yourself set up. The bar was also available for drinks which we took advantage of in the afternoons when returning back from our adventures. Overall we really enjoyed our visit and we would stay here again should we return to York, which we probably will, if the hotel can address the noise issues and carry out regular maintenance checks on the rooms my next review could well be a five star one.
