This is a wonderful hotel and has a fantastic staff. Beautiful room, nice breakfast, and the location is unbeatable. The staff is warm and welcoming-they really made our visit memorable. We will return one day.

Decided to go a they offer Bluelight Discount and the menu looked quite good. Unfortunately they did not advertise they had removed the Bluelight discount but they informed us it was restaurant week and we could have two courses for £20 each and free tea and coffee. We were shown to a very polite gentleman but unfortunately there were only two people people taking orders and servicing tables which they were run off their feet. We ordered two mains fish and chips and burger in chips which the chips had very little taste and were over greasy as was the fish. The burger also had bits of gristle which were unpleasant to have in your mouth. We then ordered rhubarb and apple crumble with custard which my wife enjoyed and I opted for the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. They were very scant on the ice cream and the cake was not freshly baked and tasted a little burnt which I ended up leaving half. We were not offered our free tea or coffee as the two gentlemen were run off their feet and when we went to pay we were asked how was everything. I told them ok and the said just ok what was wrong and I told them about the gristle in the burger and they said ok and just processed the bill. We could not blame the staff as there was a clear lack of the but the food was not great.

Had a mid week stay for our Silver Wedding and couldn’t fault any of it. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant experience. The location of the hotel is fantastic but also very quiet. We had breakfast included which I would highly recommend. All the staff need commending for making our stay special.

Arrived late and something had gone wrong with my booking. Tania spent time contacting various agencies and sorted the issue with calm professionalism. She found me a room and prevented a crisis. Can’t thank her enough! In fact all the staff are wonderful. Would highly recommend - such a gem if a hotel ! Clean, quiet and restful.

We used a meeting room at the Dean Court Hotel for our recent staff meeting. The room was well equipped and perfect for what we needed. Coffees, teas and water was kept refreshed throughout the day. We also had a delicious lunch provided too. Would definitely recommend them for your next business meeting.

Well located, upscale hotel with relentless SPAM Attack, even after initial stay. Everything else about the experience with them has been lovely. Next to the Minster, clean, quiet, well maintained. But relentless messaging. Often repeats. Even thought I am supposed to unsubscribed from this nonsense.

Excellent 2 night stay. The view from our room was outstanding as we looked out onto the York Minister. Bed was large and very comfortable and had a good sleep. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great selection at breakfast and cooked well. Will be back.

This is a great hotel, the location is fantastic you can’t get better, I have the evening meal there was a full range on the restaurant. I had their home burger with their fries which was lovely. I had the breakfast in the morning and I had eggs Benedict, the small version, which was just enough and very fresh. The hotel and bar area and the reception are in a 200-Year-old building, so it has all the usual quirky characters, like squeaky floorboards, small stairwells, and everything you would expect from such a period property . The reception and staff from the bar area and the whole hotel was 2nd to none. They were very caring and they took the car from me which is well worth the extra £25. As you don’t have to worry where your car is and have the concern of finding parking my advice pay it.

My husband surprised me with a trip to York for my birthday, and honestly, the hotel is amazing! Great location, the room was a nice size and very clean and breakfast was really good. We arrived at the hotel early due to travelling and wanted to have a full day in York. We dropped our bags off and one of the staff took our car and parked it up. I'd definitely recommend this as parking isn't the cheapest in York, and we found this to be a better option for us. We spoke with the lady on reception who I must say was not the friendliest, we almost felt a nuisance as we'd arrived early and she made us feel like it was a problem but the guy who took our bags and car was really nice. We headed out for the day and then checked in at 3pm and was greeted by Frank, who honestly was the nicest person ever! He checked us in and took us up to our room. He explained everything and showed us round, and even our bags were waiting for us in our room. We stayed in a deluxe double and it was really nice. Couldn't fault the hotel at all. Just the lady on reception on this particular day could have been a little more friendly. Apart from this, we did a ghost walk and dined at a lovely little Italian restaurant, which was nice. Overall, I'd definitely recommend The Dean Court hotel, and we will definitely return and a big thank you to Frank for being so kind and helpful!
