I cannot fault the service at this Hotel. The Reception staff were very friendly, we had requested a certain room and they had noted it and we were given the room we requested. The Restaurant was lovely and food very well priced. We would definately visit again.
I booked a 4 night stay 10th to 14th July 2022 requesting an Accessible Room. When I entered the allocated room I found that the Bed was too low for me to use I would not be able to rise from it . I have experienced this problem on previous occasions resulting in the Hotels provided plastic feet to raise it by approximately 30cm. The Hotel Reception told me that they were unable to solve my problem and gave me a full refund. I had no coice but to drive th 3 hours home and cancel my plans for this period. I stayed at an ihg Hotel in Winchester earlier this year and experienced a room with perfect facilities for my needs.
Pros: Near to the train station, very clean, dog friendly. Lovely to have received 2 free drink vouchers for my partner’s birthday. Cons: Not a good value for money, dark and dingy room with a view to a dumpster area where staff have cigarette breaks and make noise early hours when sorting out rubbish. Feels like the hotel charges you for every possible thing, quite upsetting to have to pay extra for the dog upon arrival, not notified about it previously. Dog bed and bowls promised, but not delivered. Rooms outdated, staff not particularly friendly, apart from a few (Rita and Mark). Expensive food and drink, cocktails not available. Had to pay extra charges for tray service even though already paid £15 per person for breakfast.
Had the fortune to stay here when a game was on in the stadium. You do need to get back to the hotel before road closures take place and also note the limited parking. My room had a limited view of the pitch but managed to get a ticket for the game anyway. More modern IHG hotel compared to the others in Norwich (Airport or Ipswich road).
I often stay with this hotel group and enjoy this time the hotel was very run down would not recommend.meeds updating Norwich were playing Bournemouth mid week cup game The young duty manager was extremely rude And spent most of his time telling us what we couldn’t do this guy needs better customer service training Breakfast staff also bar and room cleaning excellent and made a terrible experience a little better
Our room was always very clean and the housekeeping staff pleasant and helpful. But we couldn't use the restaurant as on our first evening we were told that most menu items were off and on the second evening we were told that the restaurant was required for a coach party. After that we gave up. The disabled parking bays appeared to have been filled by able bodied staff not displaying blue badges. Neither the general manager nor duty manager was available to help. Finally there was lots of litter in the grounds.
Stayed here to go on steam train trip .sundown festival on so hotel full and unable to offer upgrade.still got a pitch side room platinumihg membercharming helpful staff unable to give 5 stars as did not have any meals.also when we last stayed here 15 years ago I noted a design fault in the bathroom the soap and shampoo dispensers are very high on the wall for the shower and people using bath cannot reach them without standing and have no separate soap.this increases risk of slipping however this is still a nice hotel with easy access to the railway station.I think this is now the nicest of Kew greens holiday inns in Norwich
Visited as part of bus tour. The reception staff were very efficient as were the bar staff waitresses and chamber maids. The room was very clean with a great view over Norwich’s football ground .Plenty of Tea and coffee available in room. The breakfast was great Buffett and continental great choices and plently of it every thing scalding hot. As for the evening meal a different matter all together Because it was a bus trip the meals were basic and plain all frozen veg and not great in quantity.or variety. Looking at the prices for breakfast it was the same for all residents Full English was £16.95p whilst a Continental was £9 50p extremely expensive. Drinks were very expensive cheapest pint £ a small glass of wine £5 50p
Room & breakfast ok but restaurant chairs sagging and uncomfortable. Quality of food served at dinner atrocious - I've never had such poor quality food in my life. Everything seemed watered down and tasteless.
Excellent hotel stones throw from Carrow Road with very accommodating staff. Check in staff really helpful and professional as were all the breakfast staff. Rooms were clean, only disappointment is no safe or fridge in room which would have been nice. Breakfast was buffet style and was good, however a bit basic, would have liked some cooked to order options but quality of what was there was good. Hotel was near railway station as well as a Morrisons and Riverside with lots of good restaurants. Would highly recommend, especially for a gig as everything was very well organised here.
