Hotel a little tired, expensive room rate (up 33%) from original booking, car parking expensive. Two single beds pushed together to make a double and not a king-size we'd come to expect of a Premier Inn.

Hotel's Favourite
I stayed with my wife and daughter and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the family room. Being on a Friday, we expected a lot of street noise in the evening, but we heard none. The room was clean and comfortable and the parking proved a great asset while we explored the city the next day. The night before I had paid double for a hotel which, although 'posher', did not offer the same level of peace and comfort.

Good helpful staff, poor quality food. Paid extra for the plus room, which was smaller than usual. Over crowded, with furniture, that was not particularly useful. Air conditioning was temperamental. Not good.

I stayed here for three nights whilst visiting the city of Norwich. The location is good and central - a ten minute walk from the city centre and attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful, both at reception and in the restaurant, at breakfast and dinner times. The room had tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and a nice bathroom. However, at night I did have trouble sleeping as my room was too hot. I did raise this once with a member of staff at reception, on my penultimate night, and they told me that they would look at the air conditioning. This this was only a short break, it wasn't a major issue - but the air conditioning didn't seem to be working adequately.

Just back from another enjoyable stay at the Norwich Nelson hotel. We arrived on Monday afternoon and were checked in by a lovely member of staff and allocated room 152 on the 1st floor. Our room was spacious and everything you would expect from Premier Inn. We had dinner and breakfast in the on site restaurant on each evening and morning we were there. Food delicious as always, although there was a slight problem one morning regarding payment for breakfast. When I booked the hotel for the 4 nights for the two of us via the Premier Inn app, I also specified breakfast for us both for the 4 mornings. For some reason, the booking system didn't do this, never had a problem before so I put it down to a glitch. We travelled by car, the car park is chargeable ( £7 for 24 hours). You give reception your vehicle registration number on arrival, and they give you a barcode to use when you pay at the end of your stay. Across the road from the railway station and 10 minutes walk from the city centre the hotel is in a very convenient location. We have stayed here a number of times before and really like the place, brilliant staff too

Wanted somewhere fairly close to Norfolk showground for East Anglia Yarn Show. Very friendly and accommodating, helpful with transport needs and access to city. Chose to eat in room after show and in restaurant on 2nd night. Reasonably priced. Good breakfasts. Overall best stay. Usual comfortable bed and pillows.

Poor breakfast and noisy location. Overall, a disappointing stay. However, the hotel is well placed near to the train station and easy walking distance into the city centre. Prince of Wales Road is rough though and I would recommend a taxi back if you've been out late at night.

Recently stayed at the Nelson for a Saturday night out in Norwich. This hotel was perfect, from friendly staff, to well kept room, we had the premier plus room and it was perfect. The only negative is the parking costs and in my opinion should be included in the price. The river looked nice in the evening, morning not so much. Breakfast was self service, so convent but we found it could be warmer. Overall a really good experience and would stay again.
